Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Can Strong Magnets Really Retrieve Bodies????

Inside the interrogation room, Aiden Ravens sat confidently, his gaze filled with disdain as he looked at Detective Fawkes.

"No evidence, yet you still dragged me in?" Aiden sneered. "Without proof, you can't hold me forever, can you?"

Detective Fawkes's face darkened, glaring at the arrogant young man.

"Think you'll get away with it?" Fawkes growled. "There's no such thing as a perfect crime, Aiden."

"Sorry, detective, I'm not sure I understand what you're accusing me of," Aiden replied, his voice dripping with mockery.

"I'm a law-abiding citizen, after all. You can't pin those murders on me, because they have nothing to do with me."

Fawkes clenched his jaw, frustration boiling inside him. He knew Aiden was the killer, but without solid evidence, his hands were tied.

"If you think this is over, think again," Fawkes warned, but Aiden merely laughed.

"You keep saying that, but the clock's ticking, Detective. Pretty soon, I'll be out of here, and trust me—there will be consequences," Aiden said smugly.

Back in the observation room, the officers watching the interrogation were fuming.

"This guy is unbelievable," one officer muttered.

"He's a menace to society," another added, barely able to contain his anger.

"I swear, even if we have to let him go, we should lock him up for a few years just for the attitude," a third chimed in, though they all knew it wasn't that simple.

Detective Fawkes slammed the interrogation room door behind him as he left, the weight of the situation pressing heavily on him.

He knew they were running out of time, and Aiden's arrogant laughter echoed in his mind. They had to find something, anything, before the clock ran out.

Back in the observation room, he addressed his team.

"We're not done yet," Fawkes said, rallying the troops. "We've got one hour left. Go through everything again. No stone unturned. There has to be something we've missed."

With renewed determination, the team went to work. Files were pulled, old leads revisited. But nothing substantial came to light.

"We're out of time," one officer muttered under his breath. But just as the room's tension hit its peak, a younger detective rushed in with a folder in hand.

"Detective Fawkes! We may have something!"

Detective Fawkes spun around, eyes wide.

"What is it?" he asked, barely containing his hope.

"They found a body at Lake Lucian!" the young detective said, excitement evident in his voice. "And not just that, but they also found the murder weapon!"

Fawkes's eyes lit up. "You're sure?"

The detective nodded. "Yes, it was fished out by a strong magnet fisherman."

Fawkes blinked, processing the information.

"Wait…what?"

The officer smiled nervously. "Yeah, strong magnets pulled it up."

"Magnets can pull up bodies now?" Fawkes muttered in disbelief.
