Devon Declagio was swinging his legs, waiting for his flight to land. He couldn't contain his excitement. He was arriving at Paris Charles De Galla Airport.

Everything seemed to be going as fine as life could go for Devon lately. He felt that he had finally gotten out of the fog that he was living in for the past 3 months. After his father, who was an archaeologist, disappeared after seaching a lost ruin, Devon became an orphan. With school finally finished for summer break, Devon spent all of his savings to follow his fathers last steps.

Hidden in the old European mountains; a historical site lays buried. The Governments contacted his father for his unique knowledge for the unexplainable, the unique and confusing. He gave a guest lecture in Paris 5 years ago, and they have been inviting him back ever since. And it seemed that this relationship was about to be mighty prosperous, but it was over 9 months since the excavation started and three since no one has heard from him.

Devon is here for answers! How can a man just vanish from a ruin? This is Earth; not some fantasy world. Damnit. This makes no sense, but yet, he received a voicemail just the other night. Claiming that his fathers disaperance is way more than suspicious. This was his biggest case of his life. It was going to cement him as the worlds greatest researcher, not just archaeologists. He claimed it was a massive breakthrough in all his fields of study.

The flight touched down just after 1 pm, with plenty of time left in the day, Devon found his luggage and made for a taxi, being a teenager, meant he still wasn't old enough to rent a car, even if he can fly half way across the world by himself.

His plan was simple, and maybe just a little stupid, but he still had to see the ruin for himself to truly believe his father is just 'gone'. He doesn't think he will find anything different than the experts who already told him the entire ruin has been search and accounted for, but a man couldn't just believe his father, his only parent would leave him, for no reason. No he must find some answer.

He had the driver drop him off at the hotel, that his father stayed at. From here, he would meet with the company that hired Vince Declagio, his father, where they would then take him the Ruin.

With one night to spare while staying in Paris, Devon was able to truly be a tourist for a few hours. Devon used this time to try and enjoy a few hours before the real truth was realized.

Devon has been telling himself for the past 3 months, that he could find his dad, and that only he could. This is why, all his co-workers couldn't. Vince always told his son he could do anything he set his mind too, but Devon preferred to help his father. He wanted to pursue a career in historical research as well, but the one thing he didn't tell his dad was he wanted to do it for the treasure! The vast amount of wealth and history that is hidden in the world is incomparable. So many fortunes have been lost over the years, and he plans to chase these dreams.

When Devon was 9, him and his father ventured down to South America, where they went into some old Inca ruins. Once here, his dad found a hidden passageway that turned out to be a tomb for an old King. Buried in centuries of wealth. It was the most amazing day of his life, and ever since then, it has been Devon's dream to follow his fathers footsteps. Devon will become the worlds greatest archaeologist and Treasure hunter. He will make them into one!

As of now, his father was tracing Napoleons journey to confront the Russians in war. One of the worlds greatest Military general, and he made such a costly decision. My father, an expert on the unknown, felt there was a second motivation to napoleons actions. Which was what brought him to Paris 9 months ago.

According to the company who paid my father, he found the true purpose of the military operation and it was for an old Ruin hidden in the mountains. This is where they will be taking him tomorrow

Now, looking up, Devon can see the Eiffel tower. He breathed in through his nose and out his mouth, and just enjoyed the moment. Devon knew that today was his last normal day. Today, he could plug in his earbuds, turn on his favorite song, and enjoy the beautiful scenery because someway, tomorrow his life was going to change.
