Chapter 46 - Chapter 46: The Architect's Plan

Arden's grin twisted, their eyes gleaming with malevolence as they began to pace the chamber. The air seemed to thicken, heavy with anticipation. The flickering torches cast eerie shadows on the walls, making it seem as though the very darkness itself was alive.

"Elijah's past life," Arden said, "is intertwined with ours. He was the instrument of our family's downfall, the catalyst for the prophecy's creation."

Aria's mind reeled, her thoughts racing with the implications. She felt as though she was trapped in a labyrinth, with no escape from the darkness that surrounded her. Her heart pounded in her chest, each beat echoing through her very being.

"What do you mean?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Arden's laughter echoed through the chamber, the sound sending shivers down Aria's spine. The laughter seemed to reverberate deep within her soul, awakening a primal fear.

"Elijah was once our brother, Erian," Arden said. "The favorite son, destined to inherit our family's legacy. But he betrayed us, siding with our enemies and sparking a war that ravaged our lands."

Aria's heart sank, her mind struggling to comprehend the magnitude of Arden's words. She felt as though she was living a nightmare, with no awakening in sight.

"That's not true," she whispered, denial etched on her face.

Arden's grin widened, their eyes flashing with triumph.

"The truth is hidden in the shadows," Arden said. "But I have proof. Proof that Elijah is Erian reincarnated, and that he must pay for his past treachery."

Aria's thoughts shattered, her world crumbling around her. She felt as though she was drowning in a sea of despair. The weight of Arden's words crushed her, making it hard to breathe.

"No," she whispered, her voice cracking with emotion.

Kael stepped forward, their expression grim.

"Arden, stop," Kael said. "You're manipulating the truth."

Arden's laughter grew louder, the sound echoing off the chamber's walls.

"Kael knows the truth," Arden said. "Don't you, old friend?"

Kael's eyes narrowed.

"I know that Elijah is innocent," Kael said. "He doesn't remember his past life."

Arden's grin twisted.

"Innocent?" Arden repeated. "Elijah's memories are locked away, waiting to be unleashed. And when they are, he'll remember his true nature."

Aria's horror deepened.

"What have you done to him?" she demanded.

Arden's grin widened.

"I've awakened his true potential," Arden said. "And soon, he'll join me in unleashing the prophecy's full power."

As Arden spoke, the shadows in the chamber seemed to grow longer, twisting into dark tendrils that wrapped around Aria's ankles.

"You'll never stop me," Arden said. "The prophecy will be fulfilled, and Elijah will be the key."

Aria's determination hardened.

"I won't let that happen," she said.

Arden's laughter echoed through the chamber.

"We'll see about that," Arden said.

The air seemed to thicken, heavy with anticipation. Aria knew that she had to act, to prevent Arden's sinister plan from unfolding.

With a deep breath, she steeled herself for the battle ahead.

"I'll find a way to stop you," Aria said.

Arden's grin faltered.

"You're no match for me," Arden said.

Aria smiled.

"We'll see about that," she said.

The chamber fell silent, the only sound the heavy breathing of the two adversaries.

Suddenly, a faint whisper echoed through the chamber.

"Aria..."

Aria's heart skipped a beat.

"Elijah?" she whispered.

The whisper seemed to come from all around her, echoing off the walls.

"Aria, don't trust Arden..."

Aria's determination hardened.

"I won't," she said.

Arden's grin twisted.

"You'll never win," Arden said.

Aria smiled.

"We'll see about that," she repeated.
