As Lorenzo and I alighted from the car, his guards surrounded us, their eyes scanning the surroundings with alertness.
Lorenzo's hand wrapped possessively around my waist, sending a shiver down my spine. "You all can hold your peace, I am here for my wife so don't mess things up," he announced and they were all at ease.
As we walked into the house, I took a deep breath, memories flooding my mind.
I had loved coming here, because of the crazy love I had for Emilio and that had made this place feel like a second home but tonight I didn't feel like it.
The door opened and the maid's eyes widened as she saw us, and she bowed low, her gaze flicking to Lorenzo's hand on my waist. I could sense her surprise, her curiosity about our closeness.
"Welcome ma'am and sir.." she greeted me and I let out a smile as we walked deeper into the mansion.
