It's summer vacation. The three friends Omar, Sarah and Boyd are now college students. Omar has a mother and father and no sisters. He lives in a stable situation. Sarah lives with her mother and her situation is also stable. But Boyd's situation was difficult financially, but Omar and Sarah always supported him. Omar was the leader of the group since childhood. Sarah was the thinker, while Boyd was the calm and nervous one, but he was nice to Omar and Sarah. But lately, the friends don't talk to each other much and each person is in his own home or with new friends. Omar woke up from his sleep and went to the bathroom, washed his face, brushed his teeth and took a shower. When he came down the stairs, he saw his mother waiting for him. His mother looked at him and said in a calm tone
"Another day you sleep too long"
Omar said to her in a sarcastic tone
"As if I have anything to do"
His mother said to him "What about Sarah and Boyd"
Omar sat in the chair and said in a sad tone
"We don't hang out much these days"
His mother put her hand on his shoulder and said to him
"These things happen at this stage of life, everyone becomes busy with their problems, you are not a child like before" and kissed him. Omar was silent and ate breakfast. While eating breakfast, he looked at the cup he was drinking from, and it was written on it "Presented by Sarah, I love you". Omar got up from his place and headed to the garage, feeling sad in his heart. He opened the garage door and began to remember the day when they were young and they used to build things here in the garage and imagine that they were fighting aliens. He smiled a sad smile and went and opened an old box in which he kept all the toys, gifts and everything that connected him to his old friends. He opened the box and started browsing through the things. While browsing and smiling, a paper fell to the ground. Omar heard a groan in his ear after it fell and the garage became very quiet. He carried it and found a map leading to the hidden ghost town and written on it was an invitation from the ghosts of the town. Omar remembered the town and how they used to try to search for it when they were young. Omar thought about it and decided to invite his friends to try to find the town as a kind of longing for the past. Omar went to his mother who was in the kitchen and said to her excitedly
"Mom, give me the car keys. I found an activity to do with my friends."
Omar's mother couldn't believe it and that his mother had been smiling an unfeigned smile for months and gave him the keys without thinking and said to him
"Be careful."
Omar got into the car running and excited to tell his friends. Omar headed to Sarah's house while driving the car. He reached the house and found Sarah walking with her new lover. Omar's face showed expressions of displeasure and anger. He stopped the car next to them and Sarah saw him and said happily.
"Oh Omar, it's been a long time."
Omar got out of the car and ran to hug his old girlfriend. But Sarah's lover stood in front of Omar and said to him.
"Hello Omar."
He didn't let Omar hug Sarah. Omar was upset by what Sarah's lover did. He shook hands with Sarah and said to her
"It's been a long time, hasn't it?"
Sarah said to him smiling
"Yes, we don't go out with each other these days."
Omar said to her
"It's been months, Sarah."
Sarah said in an embarrassed tone
"Yes, yes, sorry, I forgot."
Omar said to her
"Can we talk in some privacy?"
Sarah said to him, surprised
"Yes."
Her lover interrupted her and said to Omar
"If you want to talk to her, I have to be with you."
Omar looked at her lover with contempt and anger and said to Sarah about going to the hidden ghost town and retrieving memories. Sarah's expressions seemed embarrassed. Her lover laughed and said to Omar
"Hey kid. Ghost town. What are you going to do? Are you going to fight ghosts?"
He laughed and walked away holding Sarah's hand. Sarah said to Omar
"Goodbye Omar"
and her lover dragged her away. Omar stood in amazement, realizing that the days with Sarah would never be the same again. Omar got into his car and went to where Boyd was sitting with his friends. It was close by. He found Boyd with a group of gang members. Omar was amazed at the sight of Boyd with people like that. He got out of the car and waved for Boyd to come over to him. Boyd walked to Omar and hugged him and said to him
"It's been a long time bro"
Omar said to him with a smile
"Yes bro, it's been a long time. What are you doing with those people?"
Boyd said to him with a laughing tone
"Who are they? They're my friends"
Omar said to him with a calm tone
"You're hanging out with gangs?"
Boyd said to him
"They're not gangs, they're like my family now"
Omar said to him with an angry tone
"You're hanging out with people who're going to get you in trouble with the police"
Boyd grabbed Omar's mouth and said to him
"Shhhh, be quiet so they don't hear you and cause us problems. Why don't you go and hang out with Sarah, I'm busy now"
Omar said to him with a sad tone
"Sarah is with her boyfriend now. I suggested that we search for the hidden ghost town and she and her boyfriend laughed at me and her face was very embarrassed"
He said to him Boyd in a calm tone
"Ghost town? We're all grown up Omar, when will you learn that? Go home and rest or do something else. We can hang out someday, but I didn't look for a town from a children's book with you."
Omar was silent and looked like he was crying. He got into his car and drove off quickly. Boyd stood up, regretting it and feeling that he had cut Omar's throat. Omar started screaming in his car and crying with sadness. He parked in front of the house, opened the door, and entered. His mother met him in front of the door, and when he entered she said to him with a smile
"How was your day with your friends?"
Omar went up to his room, closed the door, and started searching under the bed. He took out a metal bag and opened it. He entered. It was a gun. Omar took the gun, played some songs loudly, and climbed onto the bed and lay down. He started thinking about all the good days. Days that were the best days of his life. And remember how he used to fight with Boyd over Sarah and who she would love. And about the day they were wandering in the forest looking for treasure and the day they were in the sea pretending to be pirates.
.....Once several hours until night came and Omar was thinking about the good times all the time....
Omar got tired of thinking and pointed his gun at his head. The volume of the radio became low and he started to hear the sound of his heartbeat and breathing. He put his hand on the trigger and was getting ready to finish his sentence. With the gun in his head he heard the sound of a knock on the door in his room. He thought it was his mother and said in a sad tone.
"Go mom"
Boyd said
"Omar open the door it's me and Sarah"
Omar quickly hid the gun under the bed and turned down the music and opened the door and said
"Come in"
Sarah and Boyd entered and Sarah said with a longing tone
"How much I missed this room we had a great time here" but she looked sad on her face
Boyd said and he also looked sad
"Yes I miss this place too"
Omar said to them
"Why are you here"
Sarah said to him smiling
"We are here now we miss you and we want to spend time here"
Omar interrupted her and said what is the real reason
Sarah put his head on the ground and said
"My lover broke up with me and I want to spend time with you"
Boyd said
"And my gang wants money from me and I don't have it so it's better for us to go and search for the ghost town"
Omar said to them
"I think you thought it was an idea Stupid and a children's story "
They looked at him with a sad look and Omar said to them while smiling
"Let's do this"
