Loriel's eyes narrowed. "Vigilance does not mean infallibility, Anton. I feel it. Someone has been here. Check again."
Anton knew better than to argue with the prince's paranoia. Loriel's distrustful nature was well-known among the palace staff, and questioning his judgment often led to unpleasant consequences. "As you wish, Your Highness," Anton said, his tone respectful. He motioned to a group of soldiers stationed outside the room. "Sweep the area again. Leave no corner unchecked."
The soldiers snapped to attention and began their search, moving methodically through the corridors. Anton, meanwhile, took it upon himself to inspect the room alongside Loriel, hoping to find something that might assuage the prince's fears—or confirm them.
