Chapter 2 - The Surface and the Dive

I opened my eyes, staring as I was in front of a mirror, I looked like a typical Shane, with their weird blackish blue hair and matching eyes my body seeming three or so years old.

A purple colored panel appears before me,

I stare at what I assume to be an ability screen, I think about what and how I should use my talents before deciding that during the time I am on the surface, I should learn martial arts and I should accumulate as much scientific knowledge as I can.

Timeskip: Will Shane's Death - 10 years old

Will Shane was dead, or at least gone in some way, unlike the original story three Slugs had returned, Burpy (Eli's Infernus), Gale (my Tormato) and Brand (my Infernus). Since my arrival in this world I had already managed to gain some martial-arts training and had red through books such as the Encyclopedia of Everything, and Machiavelli's 'The Prince'. As an attempt to maximise my knowledge gain in all realms of human endeavour as possible.

(A/N this doesn't mean that he is super smart, only very knowledgable)

Timeskip: Day of the Dive

Despite my belief of these characters that surrounded me all being fictional, I still cried when 'Dad' died and I still had fun and laughed and supported and loved Eli, regardless of him being truly real or not.

I went to school and made friends, simple side character that didn't exist or weren't mentioned in the original show, and my memory made me remember, each face, each experience, the hopes and woes of Jim, who wanted to become a vet, and Jenny that wanted to be a doctor because she hated being in pain, or Albert, who wanted to become a taxi driver, regardless of his smarts, just because he knew he would love it.

However all of that was far behind, today was the day that I would dive into SlugTerra alongside Eli, I was prepared with everything I needed, my two Slugs, some power-tools, some saudering wire and a respective iron, filaments, and some bits and bobs that could be useful. all put into 2 duffel bags, along with several clothes changes and valuables stored in a backpack.

I turn to Eli "You ready?"

"Yeah." It seems that my influence has made him somewhat calmer than the original.

We step outside, walking over to the sewer grate in front of the house, we lift it and move down to the Shane 'hellevator' We both sit down and strap in, we tap fists and we press the button... and press it again, and again and again, before an echoing creak resounds and we drop.

The cavernous subterranean tunnels passed by us at a lightning fast pace, we were dropping side by side before a stalagmite fell and somewhat knocked me off course, I screamed in terror as the tunnel wall was mere inches from my face.

The tunnel split, a green glow enveloping me and my two slugs before our continued descent, we reach the edge of the tunnel, a parachute deploying to slow our fall, I look around, not finding Eli anywhere near. I could see the Shane hideout from were I was but I was falling towards a dark area I could see a nearby town that was built on the side of the Cavern, something that seemed rife with corruption and crime.

I land on a rough patch of dirt, not too far away from the borough, I disassemble the chair, throwing out the pillows and turning the metal into a lump that I then divided and put into my several bags.

I moved to the nearest den, one filled with grime, noise and rife with gambling. I covered my head with my hood, preventing my face from being fully seen and settled next to a particularly loud group of thug looking idiots.

"The boss just got a new cache of slugs, plenty of rare and common ones alike, he said that if we did a good job, we might even get to have some of them!"

Rare slugs!?

It seems as though my powers might be useful to get me my first few of whatever the money is called. I place my hands in my pockets and turn them into sand, floating the sand over to their wallets and relieving them of the heavy burden of their illegally acquired possessions.

I had gained about 1000 in cash from the group, I walked up to one of the roulette tables and decided to put my gift to good use, to predict the trajectories and how it would work. I placed my money on the table, all on Black 35, a single piece of sand going over to interfere and make me win.

*35 Black! We have a winner!" My money is increased many fold.

Several Glares fixated on the back of my head, with such intensity that it would have been hard not to notice.

I scoop up my winnings and walk out, the loud and brash group that had sat near me went after me, stumbling out of the bar and going on a short, futile and drunken search for me.

Eventually they give up, retreating to their hideout and were they were moving the Slugs.

I saw several mech's attached to carts, filled with all kinds of Slugs, several thugs surrounding them, one, that I can only assume to be the Boss, shouted at the drunks for drinking on the Job.

"-AND YOU'RE LUCKY I NEED MUSCLE AT THE MOMENT OR YOU'D BE KICKED OFF THE JOB!!"

I move forward, grabbing a spare blaster from what I could only assume to be an armoury, the blaster felt awkward and I decided that I would have to lean to make my own.

I jump down from a hight, Baal, loaded into the Blaster and shot, His swirling flames roasting a few thugs alive, their screams echoing in the night. Sand moves towards a few more, before they can even react, wrapping around their necks and arms, using their blasters to shoot at their comrades whilst choking them until they met with death.

Only the boss remained, having saved himself from the fire by erecting a wall of ice with a Frostcrawler.

"Since Will Shane died three years ago business has been booming! Who the hell are you to take his place!"

What that hell! I was somehow 2 years in the past, It was probably that flash of green light, I exchanged glances with Gale and Brand.

"Ah no, but you see that's where you're wrong, I'm not here to save this place, let's just say that it'll be under new management.
