Soon both of them reached in front of Gai Luo's house.
Gai Luo has already de-summoned his Sand Eater.
This was a power one gets when they form a contract with a beast. Every tamer could open a beast space where they could keep their beasts.
Just like how Ye Xin could de-summon his Squid.
It was already nighttime. However the whole village was lit up because of the beast-taming ceremony, many were celebrating. Some were waiting and some were sulking.
Outside of Gai Luo's house, a middle-aged man was standing with his hands crossed behind his back. He was looking in the distance with a stern expression on his face as if he was waiting for someone.
This middle-aged man was Gai Luo's father, Gai Tao, and he was waiting for none other than Gai Luo, his one and only son.
When Gai Tao saw Gai Luo and Ye Xin walking towards the house he quickly moved from his position and came towards them.
Ye Xin could spot excitement in Gai Tao's eyes, he could tell that he wanted to know what kind of beast Gai Luo had.
Gai Luo on the other hand saw his dad coming towards him and didn't hesitate, he quickly summoned his sand eater.
The giant suddenly landed on the ground with a thud, appearing out of thin air.
Gai Tao looked at the giant beast and his eyes widened, his mouth stayed agape for a few seconds. For some time he couldn't believe what he was seeing.
Gai Tao was aware of the sand eater, that was the reason why he was so shocked.
Although he was hoping that Gai Luo would bring back a good beast, he never imagined that his son would manage to tame a Sand Eater!
This was a pleasant surprise for him.
"Dad aren't I amazing... Hehe..." Gai Luo said and looked at Gai Tao with a big smile on his face.
At his son's words, Gai Tao broke out of his stupor and then looked back at Gai Luo, then a proud smile appeared on his face.
Ye Xin could even spot some tears in his eyes.
Gai Tao moved forward and hugged Gai Luo. "You did great! Come, Mom would be very proud of you." He said and moved away.
Tears also formed in Gai Luo's eyes. He knew his family's condition, the ten gold coins were not a small amount for them. If he didn't manage to get a good beast then his family's lifetime savings would be in vain.
"Come, Ye Xin, let's have a big feast." Gai Tao said with an enthusiastic tone and strode towards the door.
Gai Luo and Ye Xin looked at each other with a smile and then nodded. After that, both of them moved towards the house.
Gai Luo also de-summoned his Sand Eater.
Just as both of them entered the house, the scent of cooked meat waffled into their noses.
Their mouths started watering as they looked towards the dining area.
"Haha..." Come, Son, Mom has prepared a rooster today.
Gai Luo heard his father and gulped his saliva. He was already hungry after waving for so many hours in the line. Ye Xin was no different.
Soon the three of them were sitting on the ground cross-legged and a middle-aged woman came out of the kitchen with a big bowl in her hands.
She looked to be in her late thirties, and there were deep marks below her eyes. Although she looked older than her age today there was a glow on her face.
There was even a big smile that never left her. She was Gai Luo's mother.
"Let's eat." She sat down with them and served each one a bowl of meat.
After finishing the food and chatting about today's events, Gai Luo, Gai Tao and Ye Xin were again outside the house.
The Sand Eater was beside them.
"Ye Xin, you brat, you make us feel like we are someone distant." Gai Tao looked at Ye Xin with a slightly vexed expression.
Ye Xin looked down in shame, he knew what Gai Tao was talking about, it was about the fact that he didn't take their money and instead decided to tame a Wild One.
He was ashamed because he didn't tame the squid on purpose, if not for the fact that the squid got connected to him forcefully he would have taken their money.
"Sorry, Uncle, I just didn't wanna put you in more trouble and now since Gai Luo had gotten such a good beast, he can help me in the future." Ye Xin said.
"Hmph! Don't try to act all grown up. You have disappointed me so much." Gai Tao said with a displeased expression.
Ye Xin listened to him and stayed silent, although Gai Tao was breating him he still felt warm inside. He felt lucky that he had such good neighbors. If not for them he might have fallen into depression.
Seeing him staying silent, Gai Tao sighed and then took in a deep breath. He then patted Ye Xin on the shoulder. "No need to brood now. What had happened has happened, move forward with determination, I want you to see you become someone successful." Gai Tao said.
"Don't worry uncle, I won't disappoint you anymore."
"Hmm... Let me see your beast." Gai Tao said and looked at Ye Xin curiously.
Ye Xin heard and took in a deep breath, he was afraid of showing Hong Hai to other people, but Uncle Tao was someone that he trusted.
Nodding, Ye Xin quickly summoned Hong Hai. The Red Coloured Squid with hundreds of arms appeared in the air.
Hong Hai looked at Ye Xin and like a puppy, it came and started rubbing his head against Ye Xin's shoulder.
Ye Xin smiled and patted Hong Hai, although at first, he was a bit angry that the squid contracted to him forcefully, however now he has become fond of him.
Gai Tao looked at Hong Hai and how affectionate he was to Ye Xin and was a bit surprised. "For a wild one, he sure is affectionate towards you." Gai Tao said.
"Yes, he is pretty tame." Ye Xin smiled.
"Hmm... Good, the squid should be mild, you know that Wild Ones has the highest rate of betraying their owners." Gai Tao said.
"I don't think Hong Hai would betray me." Ye Xin said and looked at Hong Hai with a big smile.
He had seen Hong Hai's power and he knew that it was no less than a cultivated beast. Controlling him was also effortless.
Ye Xin was happy that he got Hong Hai instead of a cultivated beast.
"Good, you guys should prepare for the sect examination from tomorrow on, it's in one month." Gai Tao nodded in approval.
"Yes, we will." Ye Xin said as he glanced at Gai Luo, who was playing with his sand eater.
"Ok, Come tomorrow. I will give you a good training plan." Gai Tao said and then also looked at Gai Luo.
"Yes, uncle." Ye Xin nodded again.
Gai Tao stayed staring at Gai Luo and then sighed. "Although this son of mine had gotten a good pet, he is too kindhearted for this world, make sure to protect him Ye Xin, both of you are like brothers."
Ye Xin heard Gai Tao's words and stayed silent for a few moments. He then looked at him. "I don't think he is foolish enough that he would let other people take advantage of him. I believe in him." He said.
Gai Tao looked back at Ye Xin and then suddenly smiled. "You are a good boy Ye Xin." He patted Ye Xin's shoulder and moved back towards the house. "Make sure to come back tomorrow for the training." He gave his final words and entered the house.
Ye Xin looked at the house for a few seconds and then moved towards Gai Luo.
"Ye Xin look, he already learned his first attack." Gai Luo said when he saw Ye Xin coming towards him.
"Go Xiao Sha, Sand Beam!" Gai Luo pointed at a tree in the distance.
Xiao Sha was the name that Gai Luo had given to his Sand Eater.
Xiao Sha moved his head towards the tree and suddenly the sand around it started levitating and formed a small ball in front of him.
Shhh!
Cutting the air a beam of sand rushed towards the tree and hit it with a bang.
The tree swayed under the pressure and many of the branches fell to the ground.
When the dust settled many cracks appeared on the point of impact.
"Hehe..." Gai Luo laughed while rubbing the ridge of his nose. He was proud of Xiao Sha.
Ye Xin on the other hand looked at the tree and raised his brows in surprise. He knew that the Sand Eater would be strong he never imagined that it would be this powerful.
"What do you think Ye Xin?" Gai Luo asked with excitement.
Ye Xin broke out of his stupor and looked back at Gai Luo. "He is strong!"
"Haha...! I knew it!" Gai Luo laughed out loudly.
"By the way what do you think Uncle Tao will say when he finds out that you damaged one of the trees that he swoed?" Ye Xin asked suddenly.
When Gai Luo heard his words. His string of laughter suddenly stopped and then dread filled his face.
