Soon Gai Luo, Ye Xin and Wan Peng reached in front of an inn. This was the biggest inn in the settlement.
"You managed to get a room in this crowd?" Gai Luo asked with a surprised expression, they had previously asked every inn in the area and they were all full, so he was surprised that Wan Peng managed to get an inn.
"My family owns this inn, so I had some rooms stay empty beforehand." Wan Peng said nonchalantly.
Gai Luo and Ye Xin nodded at his words. 'This was the benefit of being rich in this world.' they thought simultaneously.
Entering the inn, soon they reached the top floor, which was the eighth one. The floor didn't have separate apartments like other floors, but there was only a big hall with many rooms, and there were many bedrooms in the corner of the hall and there was a big table in the middle. There was even a small kitchen and a bathroom.
"Come with me." Wan Peng said and sat down on the sofa. Ye Xin and Gai Luo also sat down on the sofa in front of him.
"Have you guys not heard about the type of examination that will be held this year?" Wan Peng asked in his deep voice.
"No we haven't." Gai Luo said without any shame.
Wan Peng didn't get annoyed at the lack of their knowledge but nodded silently. "Ok, listen then, let me tell you about the sect examination."
"The Examination is held by Heihui Sect and is held within the whole continent of Odax, not just in our Zusian Kingdom. So you have to know that I will not be the only rich person in the test, there would be many more and some would be more powerful than me." Wan Peng looked at them with a serious expression on his face.
"In the past fifty decades, no one from our kingdom has placed first in the examination, but I intend to change it this time." Wan Peng said with a serious expression.
"You want the first place in the examination?" Gai Luo asked with a surprised expression. He never thought that Wan Peng's goals would be so big.
Even Ye Xin was also a bit surprised.
"You are right and I need your help to do so. This time the examination would be held in teams of five, if we don't decide on our teams beforehand then they would be randomly assigned. I need our team to be in the first place." Wan Peng said and a serious expression appeared on his face.

Wan Peng looked at him and sighed. "I only need you, this guy has a wild one, I can't risk my whole team because of someone like him." He said and looked at Ye Xin.
Ye Xin frowned at his words and anger started flowering inside him, however, he soon sighed. Wan Peng was right, no one would risk their goals on someone with a wild tamed beast.
Gai Luo on the other hand listened to Wan Peng and then stood up. "I am sorry, I can't be in your team without Ye Xin." He said in a determined tone.
Ye Xin listened to him and a warm smile formed on his face, Gai Luo was truly his best friend.
Wan Peng looked at him and let out a sigh. "Consider it, Heihui Sect will change your life forever." He tried to convince Gai Luo.
"No thanks, I am better off as a commoner as long as I have my family and my best friend." He said with a serious tone.
Wan Peng looked at him and then looked at Ye Xin after thinking for about five minutes he sighed and stood up. "Thanks for listening to me." He said and moved aside. It was a sign that he wanted them to leave.
Both Gai Luo and Ye Xin understood him and left the inn without any hesitation.
After they were gone Wan Peng sighed and sat down on the sofa again. And then one of the rooms opened and a blonde-haired guy walked out of the door. He was thin and there was a smirk on his face.
"I don't think they were worth it." The guy said and looked out one of the windows, he saw the two waking away from the building.
"I saw that guy's beast with my own eyes, I could feel a bloody aura from it, I could tell that the guy and the beast had gone through many deadly battles. I could have assured our victory in the examination if he was on our team." Wan Peng said.
The blonde-haired guy was a bit surprised by Wan Peng's high evaluation of Gai Luo. "Then you should have taken him in. We would have only lost one spot. And it's not like the other guy would have been completely useless, we could have used him as a scapegoat." The blonde-haired guy said.
"Gao Ai, you don't understand." Wan Peng sighed and then stood up. "Let's scout some more, I am sure that we will get some talented teammates." He said.
Gao Ai nodded. "Don't worry, I am sure we will not meet fools like him again." He said and gave a final glance at Gai Luo, who had almost disappeared in the street.
"I hope so." Wan Peng nodded.

Both Gai Luo and Ye Xin strolled through the market with dissatisfied expressions on their faces.
"We have to form a team of five, if not then we will be assigned randomly and at that time I don't think we will stay in the same team," Ye Xin said suddenly.
Gai Luo heard his words and nodded, Ye Xin was right, out of hundreds of thousands of students chances of them getting randomly assigned were close to zero.
"What do you think we should do?" Gai Luo asked and looked at the sky, it was already evening and the sun was about to set in a few hours, so they didn't have much time to form a team.
Ye Xin stayed silent for a few moments and then nodded. "Let's go outside the registration building, I am sure that we will know something there." He said.
Gai Luo listened to his words and nodded. "Let's go."
However before Gai Luo could move, Ye Xin stopped him. "Before we go, let's first buy some weapons." Ye Xin said as he looked around the market.
"Weapons? Why would we need them? Our beasts are enough." Gai Luo said with a confused expression on his face.
Ye Xin looked at all the shops that were filled with hubbub, "Let's go and see, maybe we will find something interesting." He thought.
The reason for him to go into shops was to know why there were so many people in the market. He was curious.
Gai Luo nodded and then followed Ye Xin into a weapons shop, and just when they entered Ye Xin noticed that one item was in the highest demand, and it was beast armor.
"I don't think we need beast armor, our beasts are strong enough, I think we should buy some offensive weapons instead." Gai Luo said.
Ye Xin on the other hand stayed silent at his words for a few seconds then spoke. "No just look, everyone is buying the beast armors, I think they know something that we don't. Look even the rich people are here to buy the armour." Ye Xin pointed out as he looked throughout the shop.
He was correct, everyone in the shop was buying beast armor, and not just this weapons shop, but every shop in their way, Ye Xin had noticed this same pattern.
That was the reason why he came to this shop, he wanted to know what was happening.
After silently listening to all the murmurs in the shop, Ye Xin came to realize that there could be a test that needed a beast to have high defense.
This test was conducted last year, so everyone was preparing for it to happen this year again.
Ye Xin sighed at this realization and then rolling his eyes he looked at Gai Luo, "Let's go back, I think it's a waste of time." He said.
Gai Luo who was now fully immersed in all the weapons and armour when heard his words, was suddenly annoyed. A frown appeared on his face.
"Why?" He asked.
"I don't think it's necessary anymore." He said.
Gai Luo was even more confused. "Why are you suddenly changing your mind?" He asked.
"Well, they are buying the armor because of a test that happened the previous time, I don't think it will happen again." Ye Xin said.
"Why do you think it won't happen again?" Gai Luo asked.
"Well, these kinds of tests happen to catch the examines off-guard, and look everyone is preparing for it, it's a shock test, this time theme would be different, I think." Ye Xin said.
Gai Luo nodded at his words after some time. "I think this makes sense."
