"Ahhh!!! Please get out!" Ye Xin tried to vomit, but he was unable to pull that squid out of his body.
He was not even sure where it went inside his body as he couldn't feel any strange moments inside him.
"Is it gonna eat me from inside?" He murmured and shuddered at this thought. He lay on the ground and waited for his death.
"I hope it's not too painful." He closed his eyes as tears dripped down from them. He never thought that his life would come to an end because he ate a squid.
However, even after waiting for an hour, nothing happened inside his body. A frown then appeared on his face. "What's happening? Did that squid die inside my body?" He was confused.
Taking in a deep breath he stood up and started climbing the crater again, he didn't know what happened to him. But he was speculating that the squid entered his stomach and got digested there.
"If something like that happened then the squid was incredibly stupid. Or maybe I am stupid for thinking such thoughts?" He chuckled internally.
As he climbed up the crater a frown suddenly formed on his face. He looked at his hands and then started climbing again with a shocked expression.
As he climbed more and more his expression got more shocked, "This... How I am not tired yet? And this climbing speed, it's even faster than when I descended from the crater." He thought with a surprised look on his face. Normally it was a fact that climbing a slope is more power-consuming than descending, however, Ye Xin was currently feeling the opposite, and that was the reason why he was so shocked. Anyone in his place would be that baffled too.
After about fifteen minutes he was already at the top of the crater. Impressed with his performance a smile formed on his face. "Maybe after digesting that squid, I gained a new strength?" Wistling a tone he started moving towards the village again.
While moving he was looking at the sky again and again with a hopeful expression, "Just eating that thing gave me this much power, what if I tamed it? Regretfully it was already gone." He sighed.
The world he lives in is beast-taming world. Everyone on the continent tamed special qi beasts and shared their power with them. The more powerful the beast one can tame the better their prospects would be.
Ye Xin was eighteen years old this year and he would also be sent to the capital in a few days to get his first beast. "I hope I can tame a good beast, after that I will propose to Miss Xia, hehe..." A blush formed on his face as he thought about Mo Xia.
She was the village healer and had contracted a wood python that helped her heal others. She was the most beautiful lady in the village with many suitors however she refused every single one of them.
Ye Xin has a crush on her like other villagers and hopes that he can contract a strong enough beast so he can ask for her hand in marriage.
"I wonder what kind of man Miss Xia likes?" He started contemplating Miss Xia and without him knowing he was soon in front of the village again.
There were wooden walls all around the village and there were four entrances on all four sides. Ye Xin was currently at the eastern entrance, there was a big door and beside the door stood two guards and two beasts.
The beasts were Deacon Wolves and were stationed outside every entrance gate of the village, they were sent by the capital city to protect the village from unexpected beast tides and any pillaging attacks.
Ye Xin ignored them and entered the village without hesitation and no one stopped him.
He lived on the outskirts and preferred to stay low-key, not many people knew him in the village.
Soon he was in front of a small hut, this was his home. It was left by his mother who died about a year ago, he was an orphan, his father died when he was just three years old and his mother died from an illness.
It was only because of his mother's illness did he came to know about Miss Xia and developed a crush on her.
Sighing he looked at the nearby hut, it was Gai Luo's house, after the death of his mother Gai Luo's family helped him and his father even taught Ye Xia hunting so he could feed himself.
Ye Xia was extremely grateful to Gai Luo and his family.
After contemplating for a bit he shook his head and entered the hut. "Gai Luo won't believe me anyway." He thought.
Inside his hut, he took out some meat from a small box filled with salt. This was his kill from a few days ago. It was the meat of a striped boar.
"It's almost over, I will have to hunt more tomorrow." He murmured and then started cooking the meat. He added some spices and herbs and soon enough roasted meat's fragrance filled the whole hut.
Stomach grumbling, Ye Xia swallowed his saliva and waited for the meat to cool down and just after ten seconds he couldn't wait anymore and just shoved a bite in his mouth.
And he regretted his decision just as quickly, breathing like a dying frog he tried to cool down the food in his mouth and after swallowing he smiled like a fool.
Learning his lesson this time he waited for twelve seconds and for some reason he again breathed like a dying frog.
In the next ten minutes he finished his food, his lips red with heat, and with a foolish smile on his face, he stood up and went towards the small kitchen.
Washing up the utensils he laid down on the bed and started contemplating the day. It was strange, first he spotted a falling star and ran after it to make a wish, and when he got near the star he found out that it was not a star but a squid.
And just when he thought that he would be killed by that squid, he found out that the squid had offered itself as food to him.
With a frown on his face, Ye Xin turned in his bed. "That crater was huge! So why did no one notice the impact?" He thought.
He has seen the crater with his own eyes. An impact that big could destroy their village just by the aftershock wave. However, no one noticed it.
It was as if someone dug up that crater and placed the squid ball inside it.
"I wonder how long would it take before anyone will notice the crater?" He thought and closed his eyes. Soon enough he fell asleep.
However unknown to him, a red squid halo appeared above his head, its round eyes looking at Ye Xin, after a few moments, the squid looked out of the window towards the full moon and started absorbing the strange power from the surroundings.

"Ye Xin! Wake up! You little shit!"
Bang! Bang!
"Agh!" Ye Xin opened his eyes with a gasp, as he looked around his hut, his forehead was covered with sweat and his heart was bumping against his chest.
"What was that dream?" A frown appeared on his head as he jumped out of the bed and looked at his door.
Someone was knocking on it and by his voice, Ye Xin quickly guessed who it was.
"Gai Luo?" Ye Xin called out his name and quickly opened the door. In front of him stood the fatty from before, it was his only friend in the village. He was Gai Luo.
"What happened? Why are you in such a rush?" Ye Xin asked with a frown on his face.
He could see an exaggerated expression on Gai Luo's face and he was huffing as if he had run a marathon nonstop.
Gai Luo who was about to say something suddenly stopped with his mouth hung open and he looked at Ye Xin with a flabbergasted expression on his face.
Ye Xin narrowed his eyes when he saw Gai Luo's expression, he didn't know why he was acting like that.
"You... You! You contracted a wild one?! Have you turned dumb?!" Gai Luo looked behind Ye Xin with a shocked expression.
"Wild One?" A frown appeared on Ye Xin's face as he followed Gai Luo's gaze and looked behind him.
And when he saw the thing behind him his eyes almost popped out of his skull. 'Shit!'
Behind him was the halo of the red squid that was previously consumed by him.
Gulping his saliva he looked back at Gai Luo and took in a deep breath. 'I have to calm down, I can't tell him that I got this squid after eating it or he will laugh to death at my words.
He turned around and looked at Gai Luo again. "Yes, I contracted a wild one." He said with a solemn expression on his face.
