As Xu Qi descended deeper into the underground passage, he could feel the air grow heavier through the oppressive mix of primal elements.
The passage soon opened up in what looked like a cavernous sewer. Light and darkness collided in the air, creating a mesmerizing yet chaotic dance of colors that illuminated the jagged walls.
He could sense the vibrations from his spatial bag intensified the closer he got to the artifact that the Veiled Abyss was after.
His fingers brushed the bag as he ran but he was hesitant to examine it further.
Not now, he told himself. He couldn't afford to be distracted or draw attention to him in case the mysterious stone slab reacted the same way as that artifact.
At the very least, he understood the possible connection. The stone slab he picked up in that cave might be wrapped up with some kind of fabric that prevented its aura from spreading but he knew it was teeming with primal elements of darkness.
