Feng Jingyi's heart sank as she saw the shock on her father's face with his usually composed demeanor faltering.
The sight of his trembling arm and the faint purple hue spreading along his veins made her gasp.
"Father, are you all right?" She asked.
Feng Chengyun gritted his teeth, suppressing the discomfort as he forced the residual energy into submission. His qi pulsed, isolating the invading force before expelling it from his body. With a sharp exhale, the purple tint faded from his skin.
"I'm fine. It was only possible for me to expel it because it didn't start from within my body," He replied tensely. However, his tone carried a weight that suggested otherwise. "But your mother had it in her system. It seemed to have flared up out of nowhere. Or someone triggered it."
Feng Jingyi clenched her fists. The uncertainty gnawed at her. Her gaze flicked back to her unconscious mother, whose condition seemed to be worsening with each passing second.
