At the top floor of the Lunar Caravan's headquarters, Yue Rumei was meeting with her father, Yue Hang.
"Yes, father. I've delivered the gift to Young Master Xu." Yue Rumei answered when asked about her earlier visit to the Sect Outpost in order to see Xu Qi. "However, he was still unable to meet us today."
"I see. It's fine. Something must've happened to him when the Outpost Manager had been out in the night snooping around the city. Have you really not noticed anything when you walked him back after our meeting, Mei'er?" Yue Hang inquired, his expression thoughtful as he stroked his beard.
"N-no. We separated at the border of our district and nothing was out of place. I can... still remember his smile that night." Yue Rumei shook her head, her cheeks flushed slightly.
"Wait. Father, are you saying something happened to Young Master Xu after that?"
