POV: Zina
"You think you're so much better than everyone else, don't you?" Clara's voice cut through the air, sharp and filled with venom.
I stood frozen in the hallway of the hospital, one hand gripping the clipboard in front of me, the other clenched at my side. Clara, wearing her signature tight smile, was standing just a few feet away. Her arms were crossed, her eyes narrowing as she sized me up, waiting for me to respond.
I let out a slow breath and met her gaze with a calm that, on the outside, betrayed nothing. "Clara, I suggest you think very carefully about your next words."
Her eyes flickered with a smirk. "Or what, Zina? You'll have me removed from the hospital? Maybe you'll write me up? I doubt anyone here would believe you after the mess with your son."
I felt my stomach tighten. "This is about Asher, isn't it?"
