(Zina's POV)
The courtroom buzzed with tension as Trina adjusted her skirt and took the witness stand. Her carefully rehearsed composure grated on my nerves, but I kept my chin high.
I couldn't let her lies rattle me. Not today.
"Ms. Blackwood," Mr. Reid began, pacing in front of the jury, "how would you describe your relationship with Ms. Zina?"
Trina's lips curled into a faint, almost pitying smile. "We were close once—friends, actually."
I stiffened. Friends? Was she serious?
"But over time," Trina continued, her tone measured, "things changed. She became… unstable, especially after her breakup with Xaden."
Unstable? My fingers dug into the table, and my lawyer shot me a warning look. I forced myself to remain seated, even as the words echoed in my ears.
"And what do you mean by unstable?" Mr. Reid pressed.
