Chapter 3 - Levelling Up

As the day progressed, Jason became less hopeful in getting out of his current money predicament. Nobody wanted what he was selling, at this point he was contemplating moving corners, but he knew he couldn't because there were other dealers at the other corners, and they didn't take kindly to a new face.

As he watched pedestrians walk by, one stopped in front of him and tapped on his shoulder. Jason looked around moving his hand towards his waistband, where his gun was situated. As he looked over, he saw a young woman, probably 19, with visible track marks on her arm. "Hey, you got anything?" she said desperately to him.

"Yeah, I just got some white on me, you need some?" said Jason, using his gruff, intimidating persona when talking.

"Yeah, please, I'll pay whatever, just let me know," said the woman, nearly pleading with Jason to do a sale.

"Alright, I'll cut you a deal 60$ for one of these dime bags, if you buy more than one, I can drop it down to 50$," said Jason, he was practically scamming her because he normally sold them for 50$.

"Sure, I'll grab two, 100$, right?" said the woman.

"Yeah, sure, just hand me the money," said Jason in response.

She reached into her back pocket and pulled out two crumpled up fifty-dollar bills and handed them to Jason, Jason then reached into the plastic bag he held in his right pocket and took out two smaller bags from it, handing them to the woman.

"Alright, now move along," said Jason, indicating he didn't want her to draw any more attention to him.

"Okay, thank you," said the woman and she hurried along.

As Jason finished the sale, he got another notification on his phone. He pulled out his phone and the notification was from the app again. He tapped on the notification, and it brought him to a blank white screen with text on it.

"What's it gonna' be this time," Jason thought to himself before reading the text.

As he looked down the text read, "You have earned 50 XP for completing a deal successfully, good job!"

He tapped the screen to exit out of the notification, and another popped up, this time it read, "You have levelled up your dealing, because of this, you have unlocked one skill point, would you like to use it?"

It then prompted Jason on the app with two boxes, yes and no.

Jason pressed the yes box, and it continued to another screen.

[Marketing: 0/10 (The higher your marketing level the more likely you are to get new customers.)]

[Salesman: 0/10 (The higher your salesman level the more you can sell your products for.)]

"Well, this seems like a crock of crap," thought Jason to himself as he invested one skill point into marketing and closed the app.

With that he waited around, and surprisingly in less than 30 minutes a new customer tapped him on the shoulder and asked to buy.

After waiting around and selling for the rest of the day, until about 10 P.M., he had already sold most of his product which was astounding considering he could barely sell half of it on a good week.

As he walked home to his studio apartment, he checked his wallet and inside it contained around 500$ in cash and he still had a couple dime bags left. The most important part about this, though, was that he had enough money to pay off his debt.

"Holy crap, this system app might really work, huh?" Jason thought to himself, looking at the money in his wallet.

Once he got back to his apartment, he checked his app to see where his level was at.

[Host: Jason]

[Occupation: Dealer]

[Skills: Dealing]

[Dealing Level 5 (0/500XP)]

[ - Marketing (4/10)]

[ - Salesman (0/10)]

Jason had invested all of his point into marketing, because his biggest drawback currently was his lack of overall customers. He thought it would be smarter to get more customers first, then think about raising his prices.

As he was thinking about how great the day had gone, Jason got a text from a friend, Rosco.

He clicked the notification at the top of his phone screen and read the message.

"Aye, bro, do you want to hit the club tonight, you been couped up in your apartment, we all pretty much thought you were dead," read the message.

Jason quickly replied with, "Sure, pick me up in like 30."

"It would be good to get out, I haven't even partied in a couple months or really hung out with friends in general," thought Jason.

He went into his bathroom and got ready to hit the club, he took a shower, actually combed his hair, and shaved his peach fuzz off.

After that he put on a nice button down that he owned, and a good pair of pants, with a Louis belt and grabbed a small pocketknife from one of his dressers and put it into his pocket.

He was ready for a night out with the boys.
