TW: Gun violence
No one could find Matt for the rest of the day, which unnerved me to no end. Frankie was pissed off, but I knew my paranoia was justified. Matt wasn't someone you just ignored when he went off the radar, not after everything that had happened. The next day at school, he was strangely absent again, and the knot in my stomach tightened. Things had gone entirely too far, even if it was necessary to expose him. A normal person would have seen they lost and moved on. But Matt wasn't normal—not in the slightest. He was messed up in the head, and if that wasn't addressed, I'd have a problem for the rest of my life. That much was certain.
