A week had passed, and it was like the incident in the classroom had never happened at all. By the next day, everyone seemed to have forgotten about it. No one bothered me, no whispers, no bad words, no sneers—just silence. It was almost eerie, but I wasn't about to question a good thing happening to me of all people. On the other hand, my confidence was growing, thanks to the three days a week I spent training in the ring with Giacomo. I had only just started, but already I could feel a difference in the way i felt. There was something incredibly empowering about learning how to fight back correctly.
"Holy shit," Coraline said, snapping me out of my thoughts. She looked almost giddy as she spotted something.
"What?" I asked, glancing at her curiously.
"Look to your right," she said with a smug smirk. "You'll see a wonderful vision with Karmas trademark on him."
