TW: bullying
The bell had barely rung when Tyler locked his gaze on me. I could feel it even before I saw him, that sickening sense of dread that always washed over me when I knew he was about to start. I tried to keep my head down, tried to focus on anything else, but it didn't matter. He was going to come after me no matter what I did.
Tyler, the student council secretary, was the type of person who thrived on the misery of others. He was mean-spirited and vindictive for no reason, his personality so unlikeable that even his supposed friends seemed to tolerate him only out of pity. And I knew no one really wanted to be attached to him after he bullied that handicapped kid.
Today, that spiteful gaze was locked onto me, and I instantly knew today was going to be bad for me. I was either going to leave school early again angry or crying something fierce.
