"Yeah, he totally got me a PS5," I heard Frankie bragging to a group of annoyed girls who were clearly vying for his attention. "He even got me the games to go with it. My baby always knows what I want."
"Maybe we could play together!" one of the girls suggested eagerly. "After all, it's the last time we'll see you in school."
"Which is why I need to spend it with Kyle," Frankie said matter-of-factly. But more girls started to crowd him, making it almost impossible for me to get to him without one of them pushing me.
"Woah there," Oliver caught me just before I could fall. "Your man is pretty popular."
"Yeah, he is," I muttered, trying not to let the jealousy creep into my voice.
"You know Frank is graduating somewhat of a legend. During our four years in high school, he's turned down 52 girls—that's 16% of the female student population," Oliver explained. "Right now, it's a battle royale to see if someone can steal him from you."
