I stood outside the graduation venue, the early evening air cool against my skin as Frankie's mom snapped another hundred photos of us. I could barely suppress a grin as she licked her finger and smudged it on my face, fussing over a nonexistent blemish. "You look so handsome! Come here! Let me just..." she said, her voice full of pride as she continued to click away.
"Mom, you've got enough photos!" Frankie whined beside me, his irritation evident.
"No, I don't! You're graduating, Frankie! Let me capture this moment!" His mom whined back, her eyes shining with happiness. "Smile Frankie!"
"Ma!"
"Listen to yer mother, Brat!" His dad snapped, giving Frankie a playful glare.
