Chapter 12 - ***Twelve: Kyle***

At arrival, Genevieve's mother, welcomed me into their home with open arms. She and her husband was busy setting the table, my fiance nowhere to be seen. Not thinking to much about it, I watch how her father wipe his hands clean on a dishing cloth before holding it out in a greeting manner, "Timothy Roberts." He introduced himself as I accept. "Kyle Gonzalez," I mimic his action. The firmness of the shake came to a quick end as he pulls away, returning his attention back to cutting the meat.

"Kyle dear, would you be joining us for dinner?" Auntie P queries with a kind smile. "I wouldn't want to intrude," my answer came out rushed. "Nonsense, you can't intrude even if you tried. Seeing how Geni had chosen you, you're now a part of this family too. There's more then enough food so wouldn't you kindly consider my offer?" She practically pleated. I nod as a smile forcefully graced my own features. This is certainly a battle that I won't win even if I try.

I can't help but wonder why she didn't want to introduce me to her family, is she really that afraid of them; they don't seem like the abusive kind. I've crossed paths with opprobrious people before but the image that they paint don't give of the same vibe. Are Genevieve being cautious or is there something hidden in her past that she don't want me to find? I am curious as to why she kept this part of her life concealed for so long.

I look at my surroundings, taking everything in to motion. Where the hell is Genevieve? I question myself mentally. Auntie P noticed my searching eye. "Geni dear, food's on the table and Kyle's here!" Her bellowing voice echoes throughout the house. "She was enjoying a Vodka-based drink in the pool when we came in to set the table. She's been outside for a while now," she informs me. I better not question it.

After a longish moment waiting and listening to her mother's constant blabbering she appears in the doorway. A towel wrapped around her soaked body, clothing in hand. Her rosy cheeks and big sparkling eyes takes my breath away. It had been a while since I've last seen her this besotted but even then I can't recall that this much happiness had rolled over her. The florescence in which her body blooms and glow is all new to me too. She's my human angel. Genevieve Roberts is absolutely studding, what a lucky man I am to call her my fiance.

She walks on over and lay a soft gentle kiss upon my cheek, the odour that's clinging to her breath is intoxicated, even a sober man would get drunk by kissing those lips. "I'll be right back," she slurred her words as she make her way in the direction of the bathroom.

While she's out of sight, Misha enters the same way as she had merely moments before. His hair wet and disheveled. A glossy glow covering his patches of skin wherever the light touches it lazily. Had they enjoyed a swim together? As I question myself this the green-eyed monster bites down into my soul. She wouldn't do anything that could possibly destroy what we have going, would she? Nah, I should give her the benefit of the doubt and trust her completely. Genevieve had always been the honest and reliable type.

Eventually we all sat down for dinner, her parents at the head and foot of the table and Misha across from us. Internally I'm grateful for that, seeing how this enviousness is slowly getting the better of me and it surely won't help if he was to sit beside her. "Today I've come to learn that the architect that's working on this project is none other then Shaun Roberts," I try my hand at some small talk.

This caught some attention. "Oh?" Auntie P questions surprised. "A new Harrison Gold department store complex is being build right here in the Strand," I clarified. This seems to spark some interest. "Don't worry honey, your brother don't know that you and I are in some sort of relation. I really don't want to shorten our visit by being hospitalized by him; where your other brother could easily put me in my grave," I say with a week smile.

Both her father and Misha snickered at my statement like it's all just a major joke to them. I have to show my utmost respect for Uncle Timothy, being her father and all, but I don't see the wrong in keeping it against Mister Arrogant. His eyes had been nailed on my fiance throughout the entire meal.

I want to punch his smug face in, something tells me that her family won't appreciate such methods. They seem to be extremely close, like they haven't cut ties after Genevieve had left years prior. It's odd to say the lease but why would he stay and for what? How come is he here to begin with when he had been in Mossel Bay over the weekend? Is he following us?

I close the door to the bathroom behind me. After relieving myself from the bottled up fluids, I splashed my face with some cool water. Trying to wash the piled up questions away. I really dislike that guy. The way he looks at her gives me the feeling that he'd undress her right there and have her as he please while everybody shares within the moment, ogling at the heated scene.

I splash my face with some more water as I desperately try to erase the image from my mind. I snake my fingers through my hair lightly pulling at the roots as a more detailed film plays off, between the two of them, in my head. I scrape all of the courage that I have left together, before leaving the space. This is our queue to leave, it's high time for me to get that fiance of mine in bed too.

Guess my surprise when I entered the family room and saw her passed out frame laying on a sofa. "There's no waking her up now, she's out cold," Uncle Timothy stated. I nod my head with a deep sigh, knowing that there's no error in that sentence. "You and Geni can stay in the guest room tonight," her mother offered.

I shook my head, "Unfortunately the hotel costs had already been paid in full, therefore, I have to return to our suite." She nods in understanding, "No problem, she's welcome to stay for the night." I thanked them, greeted my soon-to-be-wife by placing a soft kiss upon her cheek and left the comfort of her family-home.
