Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Planning for Prosperity

With a new planning for prosperity, resolve burning in his chest, Ryan left his room and made his way to the dining hall. The pain from the sudden rush of memories had subsided, leaving behind a sharp clarity in his mind. His past life's knowledge, once distant, now merged seamlessly with his current self.

As he walked through the corridors of the family estate, the soft sunlight filtered through the windows, casting warm hues on the stone walls. He knew that he had no time to waste. The world of Fate of the enchanted realm would soon plunge into turmoil, and if he didn't act, his family would be swept away by the coming storm.

The dining room was quiet when he entered. His father, Roger Duskveil, was seated at the head of the table, reading a letter with his usual thoughtful expression. A broad-shouldered man, Roger carried the air of a leader, but their small territory on the outskirts of the kingdom of Lyzandor didn't afford him much influence. Ryan's mother, Helena, was gracefully setting out breakfast. She was always kind, her gentle brown eyes reflecting the calm of a peaceful morning.

"Good morning, Ryan," Helena greeted him, placing a plate in front of his seat.

Ryan smiled faintly as he sat down. "Good morning, Mother. Father."

Roger looked up from his letter and smiled. "Morning, son. You're up early."

Ryan nodded, still deep in thought as he began eating his breakfast. But his mind was far from the table, racing with plans. How can I make this territory stronger? The Duskveil family's estate, located far from the capital of Valenor, was in a precarious position. Though their lands were rich in agriculture, they lacked both military might and magical prowess, leaving them vulnerable. The peaceful times would soon end, and if they didn't act, they would be powerless to defend themselves.

His father interrupted his thoughts. "Ryan, how's your study going these days?"

Ryan blinked, brought back to the present. He had to appear normal for now. "It's going well, Father,"

The Duskveil family was minor nobility, with only a small plot of land on the outskirts of the kingdom Lyzandor. But Ryan knew they could do much more. His intelligence had reached new heights after his awakening, and with the knowledge from his previous life, he could see possibilities that he couldn't before.

His first priority was to increase their wealth. The land they owned was fertile, perfect for agriculture. They could expand their crop production, not just for food, but also for trading with nearby towns. There were also rare herbs that could be harvested and sold to alchemists and magicians, bringing in much-needed coin.Roads could be made to make the trade smoother and laying the foundation for big business. These resources were often overlooked, but Ryan knew their value from his previous life's knowledge.

He needed to train swordsmanship, basic magic so to lay a foundation for the advance knowledge taught in Royal acadmey 6years later. He also needed to train his subordinates.Except for a few of them the others were half baked.

Ryan clenched his fists. I'll make sure we aren't just forgotten extras in this world. We'll thrive.

His parents noticed his distant expression again. "What's on your mind, son?" Roger asked, his voice tinged with curiosity.

Ryan hesitated, then replied, "I've just been thinking about how we can make our territory more prosperous. We have good land, and I think we can do more with it."

Roger chuckled again. "You're certainly ambitious. But that's not a bad thing."

Helena smiled softly. "There's no rush, dear. We're doing well."

Ryan didn't argue, but inside, he knew that things would soon change, and they needed to be ready.

The next few days passed quickly. Ryan began working on his plans, discreetly testing his earth magic to see how far he could push it. He spent hours in the library, studying everything he could about the kingdom, the history of magic, and military tactics. Whenever he wasn't training or reading, he was observing the estate, looking for ways to improve their land and make it more prosperous.

He also started training his body. Though still young, he could lay the groundwork for the future by building his stamina and agility. Every morning, he would practice in the courtyard, wielding a wooden sword. His father had taught him the basics of swordsmanship, but Ryan planned to go far beyond that.

As he trained, his mind kept working through the many problems ahead. I have six years before the plot begins. Six years to build our wealth, strengthen our military, and develop our magic.

He knew it wouldn't be easy, but for the first time since awakening, he felt hopeful. The Duskveils wouldn't be swept aside by fate—they would carve their own path.

One evening, after another long day of planning, Ryan stood at his window, gazing out at the setting sun. In the distance, he could see the rolling hills that surrounded their estate, the dark forests beyond, and the far-off mountains that marked the edge of the kingdom.

The peaceful estate felt like a world of its own, but beyond its borders, Ryan knew the pieces of the game's plot were slowly falling into place. Somewhere out there, the protagonist of Fates of the Enchanted Realm was just beginning his journey. The heroines, the villains, and the allies were moving into position.
