Chapter 17 - How Many Attributes Can Someone Fit On Their Mana Core (Ardent: A Lot)

"This is the third day I did this. How many more attribute I have?" Ardent said out loud. It is a good thing he is far in the Forest, or someone would have heard of him.

In three nights, he spent it on creating all the Magic Circle he could. So far, he had created about 8 of them.

Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Lightning, Plant, Ice and Metal

"Not only I manage to have all Elemental Attribute." Ardent still in disbelief.

The eight elemental Attribute is the most common attribute of Mages, that is Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Lightning, Plant, Ice, and Metal. Followed by Darkness and Light, and Life and Death which are called Uncommon Attribute.

Then, there are the Dimensional Attribute. Those being the rarest attribute of them all.

'I wonder if I will have all 15 Attributes.' he wondered. Considering how many attributes he possessed, it seem very likely.

'Let's continue then.' due to him already creating 8 different Magic Circle, he did not need a long time to create a brand new Magic Circle. In fact, it took him only half an hour to create the Metal Magic Circle, which is the last one he did so far.

Another calming breath, Ardent began the creation of his new Magic Circle. The entire process took him less than half an hour this time, likely due to him accumulating a lot of experience in engraving Magic Circle on his Mana Core.

'That's the first one of the night. I wonder how many more I can make.'

Ardent looked into his Mana Core with a complicated look. As it turns out, he can only create two more Magic Circle. Both being Light and Darkness respectively.

'The last 5 are very rare Attributes, so it made sense.' he was still disappointed over the fact he could not use them though, but he manage to curb it by convincing himself that having 10 Attributes are more than enough.

'Besides, it will take sometime for me to master each Attributes. The less they are, the better for me.' he decided in the end.

'Let's get back home for now, I can begin my training tomorrow's night.'

"Catlin, do you think you can become a Mage?" Ardent decided to ask the moment they get together.

"Yes. Why do you ask?" Catlin replied with a look of confusion.

"Nothing. Just wondering if you will have your Father's attribute." he answered back.

"Hmm. Hopefully. Ice Attribute is something he focused on, because it's the only one he can teach me easily." Catlin exclaimed, a wry smile on her face.

Ardent shared the same smile. While Magic Clans and Magic Family would have the chances of one or few particular attributes commonly appeared in the Mages of their family, the same did not hold true for new Mages. It completely dependent on luck, or so he heard.

"Yeah. Father hope it will be Ice so he can actually teach me something. If not, he will have me apprentice with another Mage with the same Attribute as me." she told him.

'At least her Father allow such thing.' Ardent had feared the man will do worse. Then again, his thought likely corrupted by tons of dramas and novels dramatizing struggles of underdogs and women.

Not like some of them untrue, but some of them are over the top to the point he dropped those books.

"Your Father is a 2nd Circle Mage, right?" Ardent decided to ask. Catlin confirmed it with a quick nod.

He sighed, "I wonder if I become a Mage, will I become as strong as him." at the very least, his potential will not be weak in the slightest. After all, 10 Attributes give him a lot of versatility in real combat.

"I hope so. Maybe Father will agree with our marriage." Catlin might have not intended for the last part to be spoken outloud as she covered her mouth.

However, the damage was done as Ardent swing his head so fast he might suffer from a whiplash.

"What?" his tone slightly gruff, with a hint of disbelief.

"Forget what I said!" Catlin screamed before walking away.

Ardent could only let a wry smile rest on his face,

"I don't think that is possible."

The transmigrator looked at the lake. Despite wishing to train his Magic, what Catlin said stuck in his head and refused to leave. He sighed, taking the time to lay down and relax.

"To think, my best female friend want to marry me. This sound like something from anime and manga." he laughed in a slightly depreciative manner.

While he found Catlin cute, and maybe consider marrying her in the future, he did not expect for the blonde girl to want it. Well, want it at her age.

'Maybe growing up during this time made her more mature and think of this kind of thing far quicker.' he thought. With his head practically a tornado of thought, he doubt he could train safely.

'I better calm down first before beginning my training.'

-x-

In her house, Catlin was not any better.

'Aahhh! Why did I say that?! Out loud!' she screamed into her pillow, her face red from sheer embarrassment. The blonde wondered how her friendship with Ardent would continue, or maybe it will change into something more.

She hope for the latter but her Father might not agree with her choice of future partner.

'Ardent, please be strong enough so my Father will consider you as my future husband.'

-x-

"Looks like I manage to use all the spells I can use." Ardent said to himself, looking at the damage he had done.

Flame Bolt, Water Pulse, Earth Fence, Wind Cutter, Lightning Strike, Vine Bind, Icicle, Shield, Illuminate, and Dark Mantle. All the spells he can use and will use in the future.

'I will train all of them and see which one I can master the most. That will be what I use when I enroll in Mage Class.' he decided. It is the best option for him and he planned on following this plan.
