After a week of rest, which he earned by being transmigrated so he definitely earned it, Ardent was ready to go through another hurdle. Lesson hall. Aka, vocational school.
The reason the word school is not used to describe lesson hall is because the lesson is done inside a single hall, enough to fit in all the students, which meant all children at the age of 6 to 12.
Of course, a single lesson hall would not be enough so there are many of them, all located at various location of the village, depending on the lesson that will be taught.
For lesson in farming, the lesson hall is located next to the fields, orchards, farm, and plantation of the village, allowing the children to learn first hand on how to take care of the fields in the future, most of them going to continue the lineage of farmers of the village.
For lesson in blacksmithing or different type of craftsmanship, the lesson hall is located near such places, albeit smaller due to not many going down that route due to the long skills needed, not to mention their parents might not allow their children to take the lesson in fear of them refusing to tend the field when they grow up.
There are many different lesson halls, all of them for different professions and to nurture skills of the future generation, making them one of the most important buildings in the village.
'Seriously. It is hard to believe I am stuck in the Medieval Age.' Ardent thought. For the villages to have something similar as vocational schools, the future generation would no doubt be excellent in what they would be doing.
As the son of a farmer working the massive community field of the village, he took the farming lesson as well joining in craftsmanship lesson. Though, his father allowed it in hope of him being able to repair the tools in their possession, lowering the cost of the household.
"Well, it will help me if I don't have Magic." Ardent grumbled to himself.
With 5 days of training, it is impossible for him to master his Magic, especially with no one to teach him. Not even a single book to guide him in his path.
However, it did allow him to sense and control Mana to a certain extent. He could not cast any spells yet, but in the future he might be able to do so, especially as he sense he was able to generate Mana even more than what he could sense of the adults.
'I wonder of dad will allow me to take the hunter lesson or the guard lesson?' he thought. Both profession are more dangerous with the former forcing the hunter to head deep inside the woods to hunt games.
As for the latter, it is safer, unless there is a dandit raid or invasion. Then the guards either repel the invaders or screwed.
'Highly unlikely.' he answered his own question. Not unless he showed his ability to use magic, which would raise even more questions. Which is unfortunate as it would allow him to train in the forest, out of sight of other people.
'I will just have to find an opportunity to train myself in Magic.' Ardent thought as he head straight to the lesson hall for farming lesson.

Despite not planning on becoming a farmer, Ardent still take note as he did not want any suspicion to be thrown at him. Aside from some question by the teacher, an elderly man in his 60s, the lesson went smoothly.
It is also there he learned despite not being able to tend the field due to his old bones as he said, the teacher had tons of experience, which help the future farmers to have more harvest.
It is also there he learned of the substitute of pesticides and fertilizers. Namely dung from the nearby barns, accumulated by the farm animals and put into a wagon.
There, he further cemented his desire to not become a farmer, as his sense of smell felt more like a liability at this point.
'I hope I can get some resistance to that horrible smell. If not-' Ardent shuddered at the thought of such future.

The lesson went from 8 in the morning to 12 in the afternoon, as farming itself is mostly hardwork with very few skills needed. Most of them requiring on to understand the land and able to tend the plants.
With his lesson for the day finished, Ardent went straight to the craftsmanship lesson hall. Unlike the farming lesson hall, which has two session, morning and evening, the craftsmanship lesson hall has three, with each session lasting 3 hours.
The afternoon one started from 11 to 2 in the evening, which meant he would miss an hour of such lesson. However, it does not effect his study of craftsmanship itself as it, like farming is mostly practical lesson.
So, when he enter the hall, the teacher gave his a glance before nodding, acknowledging his arrival as he proceed to repair several tools, most of them used for farming though he did get to repair a bow.
Speaking of which, 'Hunter lesson would be useful. I hope father would agree.' he was hopeful that his father would allow him to take the lesson, or he might go to the nearby forest to practice himself.

After all of his lessons were done, he returned home for a late lunch. Thankfully, unlike classes of Modern Earth, eating during lesson is allowed, as long as one finished their task or it is near the end of each hour.
His mother had prepared some bread for his breaks so he was not too hungry by the end of it.
He looked to see if his father had returned or not. Seeing his absence, Ardent decided to not voice his desire, less his mother will butt in and get his father to disagree with his plan.
After finishing lunch, Ardent pondered over his next course of action. A short nap, or playing with his friends.
