Chapter 20 - 20. Zombies collective hatred.

Alvin already knew that Luis was a boy and was disguising himself, According to Luis's words he loved girl's clothes and he was also slim and had pretty face so he just use these.

But Jax was so shocked that he ate the breakfast in a daze and didn't even react when Alvin said to take care of the kids and that he was going outside for a while to check the situation.

He suddenly came out of his daze and looked at Alvin.

The morning air was heavy with the strange, suffocating mist that had swallowed the world in its eerie, red-purple hues. From inside the mansion, Jax watched as Alvin prepared to step outside, his long blue hair tied loosely behind him, his demeanor calm but charged with quiet determination.

"Are you really going out there?" Jax asked, his voice tinged with concern as he blocked Alvin's path to the front door.

Alvin raised an eyebrow, a smirk tugging at his lips. "What do you suggest, Jax? Should I put on a skirt and bangles, sit pretty in the corner, and wait for a hero to arrive and save the day?"

Jax blinked, his mouth opening and closing for a moment before he sighed heavily. "You always have to make everything sound ridiculous, don't you?"

From behind Jax, Luis leaned against the wall, arms crossed over his chest as he took in the exchange with a smirk of his own. "Jax, don't even try to argue. If you go with him, you'll just be a burden."

"Hey!" Jax protested, turning to glare at Luis, but the taller man shrugged.

"Am I wrong?" Luis said, his tone dripping with mockery. "Alvin's practically a one-man army. You'd just slow him down."

Alvin nodded in agreement, brushing past them both to open the door. "For once, Luis isn't completely useless. He's right, Jax. You and Luis should stay here and keep an eye on the kids. If anything happens, I'll be back before you know it."

Jax let out a frustrated sigh, but he stepped aside, knowing better than to argue further. "Fine. Just... don't do anything reckless, okay?"

Alvin paused in the doorway, casting a glance back at Jax, his smirk widening. "Reckless? Me? Never." And with that, he stepped out into the swirling mist, letting the heavy door shut behind him.

Outside, the world was unrecognizable. The once-familiar road leading away from the mansion was now shrouded in a thick veil of red and purple, the mist twisting and curling like living tendrils. The silence was deafening, broken only by Alvin's steady footsteps as he walked down the street.

"So this is what happens when the world decides to evolve," Alvin muttered to himself, his voice carrying a note of dry amusement. "Not exactly an improvement in the scenery department."

Despite the oppressive atmosphere, Alvin didn't seem fazed. His tall, slender figure moved through the fog with confidence, his long blue hair shimmering like a beacon against the muted colors of the mist. He had no weapon in hand—he didn't need one. For someone like Alvin, even the very laws of nature bent to his will.

He was scanning his surroundings when he heard a faint rustling above him. He didn't stop walking, his sharp eyes flicking toward the rooftops without breaking stride.

"You're not very subtle, are you?" he murmured, his tone laced with sarcasm.

In an instant, a shadow leapt from the rooftop, hurtling toward Alvin with alarming speed. Its grotesque, decayed form came into view—a zombie, its pale, rotting flesh stretched taut over sharp bones. Its eyes glowed faintly, the same red hue as the mist around them, and its mouth was open wide, rows of jagged teeth ready to sink into Alvin's neck.

But Alvin didn't even flinch.

With a smooth, almost lazy motion, he spun on his heel, his fist shooting upward in a devastating uppercut that connected squarely with the zombie's jaw. The force of the blow sent the creature flying backward, its body crashing into a nearby wall with a sickening thud.

Alvin straightened, brushing imaginary dust off his sleeve as he watched the zombie slump to the ground in a heap. "That's what you get for being blind and attacking someone like me," he said, his voice dripping with mockery.

He strode toward the crumpled figure, his footsteps echoing faintly in the stillness. The zombie twitched and groaned, its dislocated jaw hanging at an awkward angle as it tried to push itself up.

Alvin crouched a few feet away, resting his chin on his hand as he regarded the creature with mild interest. "Zombies really are as dumb as they look," he remarked, his tone casual. "Attacking someone without even checking if they're armed? Rookie mistake."

The zombie snarled weakly, its glowing eyes locking onto Alvin with a renewed hunger.

Alvin sighed, shaking his head. "Oh, don't give me that look. You started this."

With a flick of his wrist, Alvin conjured a small magical flame in his palm, the bright blue fire flickering ominously against the fog. He let it hover there for a moment before hurling it at the zombie. The flame struck the creature's chest, engulfing it instantly.

As the zombie writhed and let out a guttural screech, Alvin stood and dusted his hands off. "One down, who knows how many more to go."

The road ahead remained silent, but Alvin knew better than to let his guard down. The fog seemed to shift and pulse around him, as if it were alive, and he could feel the strange energy radiating from it—a mix of decay and raw power.

He paused at an intersection, tilting his head as he listened for any signs of movement. A faint groan reached his ears, followed by the sound of shuffling footsteps.

Alvin turned toward the noise, a sly smile curling his lips. "Looks like I've got company."

Three more zombies emerged from the fog, their movements slow but deliberate. Their decayed forms were even more grotesque than the first, their flesh riddled with gaping holes and their eyes glowing with that unnatural red light.

Alvin sighed dramatically, raising his hands in mock surrender. "Oh no, I'm surrounded. Whatever shall I do?"

The zombies let out low growls, advancing on him with jerky, uncoordinated steps.

Alvin cracked his knuckles, his expression shifting to one of wicked amusement. "Let's see if you can last longer than your friend."

The first zombie lunged at him, but Alvin sidestepped effortlessly, delivering a swift kick to its midsection that sent it sprawling. Another tried to grab him from behind, but Alvin spun around, conjuring a blade of pure energy and slicing through its outstretched arms in one clean motion.

The third zombie hesitated for a moment, as if sensing that it was outmatched. Alvin tilted his head, his smile widening. "What's the matter? Lost your nerve?"

With a flick of his wrist, he sent a wave of energy crashing into the creature, slamming it into a nearby lamppost.

As the three zombies lay defeated, Alvin dusted off his hands once more, glancing around the foggy street. "Is that all you've got? I was hoping for a challenge."

He turned back toward the mansion, his pace unhurried as he began walking again. Despite the unsettling silence of the fog, Alvin's confidence remained unshaken. Whatever this evolution process had unleashed, he was ready for it.

But as he moved further down the road, the faint sound of distant groans reached his ears—this time louder, and in greater numbers.

Alvin smirked, his fingers crackling with energy as he prepared for the next wave. "Looks like it's going to be a long morning."

And with that, he disappeared into the mist, leaving behind a trail of defeated enemies and a faint echo of laughter in his wake.

After a while Alvin returned, and yawned. His mana has been exhausted, He used his mana to strengthened his physique and now he is too exhausted.
