SCOTT'S POV
- Stop being stubborn and get it. - I say, already impatient, and she rolls her eyes before looking at the glasses in front of her.
- And why so many? - She asks doubtfully.
- Because I didn't know which one you wanted.
- Wouldn't it have been easier to have asked me? - Her eyebrows were arched and two wrinkles had formed on her furrowed forehead.
- It would have been if you weren't so stubborn. If I asked, would you accept and answer it in a good way? - I ask and she shakes her head. - Great. Now get the juice because, as I said, the best adventure of your life awaits us. I explain the flavors to her and she chooses the strawberry one.
- Thank you. - She murmurs softly.
- You're welcome. - I give her a little smile. I get any juice for myself and give the others to the boys.
Julie takes the straw to her mouth and takes a small sip. I can't help but notice that with each sip she takes a little bite of the straw. She seems nervous, very nervous to tell the truth. I look away from her mouth and move my eyes around the place where we were, I check on Hanna and see her leaving with Leo.
- I'll go over there and be right back - I say to Julie and head towards the two fugitives. I grab Hanna's arm and stop her from continuing to walk - Where do you think you're going?
- To buy some water. Hanna answers simply.
- Okay. Mark, can you go buy some water with Hanna? - I look at Mark who just nods in agreement.
- Man, you're getting more annoying every day. - Leo leaves with a huff and my lips curve into a half smile.
- I didn't see the need for it, Scott. We were just going to buy some water - Hanna growls in front of me and I do what I do best when it comes to my dear little sister, I ignore her.
- Shall we go? - Hanna asks Hanna and she nods, following him.
When I move my feet to go back to where I was before I had to take Leo's claws off my sister, I see a scene that I don't like at all. Jack is next to Julie saying something very close to her ear, the expression on her face is indecipherable and I feel the need to get closer and take him away by force.
A shiver runs through my body when he gets even closer and whispers something in her ear, she shrinks and looks around the place until she meets mine. I am relieved when I see her pleading eyes. For a moment I even thought that idiot had told her about the bet. I move with long strides until I reach their side.
- Am I disturbing something? - Jack immediately looks at me and when he sees that I'm not at all happy with his presence, his lips curve into a smile.
- Didn't you say? - He looks at Julie and smiles. Idiot.
- What did you say? - I ask, looking directly at Julie, but her expression is neutral and no emotion is noticeable.
- I was telling Julie that I'd bet my car that you'd come here in five minutes when you saw me by her side. - His words are calculated and I can see the venom dripping from the corner of his mouth. - And look, you exceeded my expectations. - He says, looking at the watch on his wrist. - I'm going, I have to find Kathe. It was nice talking to you. - He kisses Julie on the cheek and leaves.
I watch him walk away and turn my gaze to Julie, who remained silent, playing with the straw in her juice.
- What did he say? - My voice sounds more desperate than I imagined. Julie looks at me with a confused grimace. I smile to ease the tension and take a breath before asking again. - Did he say something about me? - This time I seem calmer.
- Nothing. - She answers and shrugs.
- Nothing? What do you mean nothing? He was saying something in your ear and I saw that you were nervous. - She kept playing with the damn straw.
- He didn't say anything else, just what he said.
- But you seemed nervous, very nervous - I insist.
- I was just nervous because of the proximity. I'm not used to this. - She looks at me for mere seconds and then starts staring into space. Damn, whatever he said made Julie back off and we were back to square one.
It seemed like she was inside a bubble and that would make it difficult for me to access her, and if I didn't do something to change that, the minimal progress I had been making would go down the drain. I take the juice from her hand and she gets scared, tightening her grip around the glass.
- I want to taste yours. - I make an innocent face and she slowly lets go of the glass. Her fingers brush mine and Julie pulls them away at the same time.
- Take it. - I hand mine to her. I bring the slightly bitten straw to my mouth and suck the juice slowly, drawing Julie's gaze to my mouth. I make a little noise with the straw and see the outline of a smile form on her lips. I smile and lick my lips, feeling the sweetness and sourness of the strawberry.
- Yuck, lemon - I laugh at her.
- Don't you like it? - I ask, still laughing, and she shakes her head.
- No. - She takes a sip of hers and smiles. At least I managed to get a smile out of her.
- Let's go. - I hold out my hand, she stares at it for a few seconds, looks at me and refuses. I shrug off my hand that was still outstretched and follow her.
- What are we going to do now? - Mark asks as soon as we get to where everyone else is.
- Let's go on the Ferris wheel. - I say excitedly. I couldn't risk Julie wanting to leave and me not putting into practice what I had in mind.
To tell the truth, I didn't have anything in mind, but I was following the line of reasoning of letting things happen, and something told me that this was a great opportunity to get closer to her.
- Let's split into pairs, it'll be more fun. - Leo looks at Manu as he speaks. If I hadn't known that all of this was meant to irritate me, I would have already split his face in two.
- Okay. Mark and Hanna, Jack and Kathe, Leo and Penny, and Julie and me. - Everyone agrees except Penny, who had a sullen face.
- I want to go with you, Cot. - Penny makes a ridiculous pout for someone her age.
- I'm going with Julie. - I take Julie's hand and this time she doesn't back away. Penny lets go of my arm and looks at Julie, who is not at all comfortable with the situation.
- Okay. - She answers and moves away from me. But when she passes by us, she pretends to agree and spills the entire contents of the glass she was holding on Julie. Julie jumps in shock and lets go of my hand.
- I'm sorry, I bumped into a rock. I swear I didn't mean to. - Her voice came out almost desperate but I saw a smile form on her lips when she saw Julie's clothes all stained and the dark liquid running down her body. Julie remained still just watching the juice run down her clothes.
- Come on, let's find a bathroom. - Hanna grabs Julie's hand and takes her away. If she leaves, my chances of getting anything are gone. I look at Penny angrily and she approaches.
- You don't think I did it on purpose, do you? - She looks at me with an innocent face and if I were so stupid I would even believe her.
- You're the one saying that. - I answer and leave her talking to herself. A few minutes have passed and they haven't come back. Did Julie leave? But if she had gone where is Hanna?
- Calm down, there they come. - Mark says. I turn my face and see them coming towards us. Julie's blouse was tied in a knot at the front, exposing a strip of her white skin, and I could clearly see her thin waist, well defined under the wet fabric.
She walks past me, giving me a view of her back and ass, and WOW, what an ass. Where does this girl hide that body, or rather, why does she hide that body?
- Wow! You should wear more clothes like that, it enhances your ass. - I can't control myself and the words come out of my mouth before I can stop them.
- Idiot - Her voice is shaky and she runs away. I run after her and grab her by the arm when I reach her.
- Where are you going? - I turn her to me and see her eyes watering.
- Go away. - She says and lets go of my grip.
- I'll take you - I say and she runs away. I go after her but before I can reach her, Julie gets in a taxi and leaves. Shit! A thousand times shit! Damn Penny, I had to ruin everything.
I hope she doesn't show up in front of me for the next thirty years. When I turn around, guess who was standing there looking at me with a huge smile on her face? If you answered Penny, you're right. I approach her and fake a smile. When she sees me walking towards her, her smile widens. I stop in front of her and she puts her arms around my neck. I put my hands on her waist and force my smile even wider.
- Now that the clumsy nerd is gone, we can have fun doing much more interesting things. - Her voice was barely above a whisper, but I still feel my stomach churn.
How could I have gotten with this girl, my God? Sure, she's hot, really hot, to be honest, but her voice ruins everything else. I lean in so that my mouth is inches from her ear. I hear her sigh and smile.
- I don't think you understand. I don't get with the same girl more than once. Your chance has passed and I suggest you move on because you won't get another one. - I take their hands off me and leave without even looking back. When I arrive, everyone looks at me and I shrug.
No one asks anything and I'm happy about that, I wasn't in the mood to explain a damn thing. I stand in a corner and think about how to reverse what happened today. I feel the presence of someone next to me, when I turn around I see a brunette looking at me with a smile on her face.
- Alone? - She asks.
- Not anymore. - I smile and she comes closer so that her breasts touch my arm. - Do you want to go for a walk or go somewhere where we can be more comfortable? - I'm not one to beat around the bush, so I'll get straight to the point. All I wanted at that moment was a distraction and the brunette in front of me was ready to give it to me.
- That would be a great idea. - She whispers very close to my mouth, I get closer so that my lips brush against hers. She smiles and I waste no time putting my mouth on hers but before I can deepen the kiss I feel a hand on my shoulder pulling me. I pull away and look to see who was the idiot who was ruining my first real fun of that shitty night.
- I want to go home. - Hanna looks at me with anger in her eyes. Mental note: Never go out with your spoilsport sister again.
- Do you live with her? - The brunette in front of me asks me confused.
- Unfortunately, I've done everything I can to get rid of her but I can't - I answer and Hanna snorts beside me.
- Sorry, I didn't know he had a girlfriend. - The brunette steps away and looks at Hanna.
- Yuck, God forbid. He's my brother. - I saw the relief on the girl's face and she smiles awkwardly. I put my hands back on her waist and feel her squirm under my grip.
- Stay here and wait for me, I'll just drop her off at home and be right back. - She nods awkwardly and I nibble on her ear before walking away and finding an irritated Hanna in front of the park.
- Don't even think about blackmailing me, I can do things to you that you can't even imagine. - I say before she can say anything and head towards the parking lot. She lets out an irritated scream before following me.
- I like Julie. I don't know how she puts up with someone like you. - She throws it out as soon as she's by my side.
- Just like I can handle you, little sister. - I stick my tongue out and get into the car, slamming the door behind me. Hanna repeats my gesture and gets in, slamming the door much harder than I did.
- Be careful there - I say and she sticks her tongue out at me again before putting on her seatbelt. I drive off and take my adorable little sister home. I go as fast as I can because my fun for the night awaits me in a skirt that barely covers half of my ass.
