Chereads / Hades One Big Redo / Chapter 26 - Hera's Power

Chapter 26 - Hera's Power

Demeter and Hade's then walked, as then they saw Hera flaring on the floor with her anger clear, she was spinning on the floor like a cartoon characters, as her blue dress and hair had some dust.

Tezcatlipoca just looked at he with a deadpan face. "You need to chill".

Hera gets up and looked at him. "No I won't not unthle I figure out my power's"

Hades looked at her a bit confused. "You can already control lighting like Poseidon why are you mad".

Hera looked at him, her eyes turning red in anger. "That is the point, I have noting to help you guys with, Demeter has her plant life, Hades you control the dead, shadow and void and chaos, Zeus has the water power, Poseidon has his lightning power and Hestia will she is Hestia".

Hades raised an eyebrow at Hera's outburst, exchanging a quick glance with Demeter. He then sighed and walked closer to his sister, trying to keep his tone calm. "Hera, you're not useless. Just because your abilities aren't as flashy or defined right now doesn't mean they don't matter. Powers grow and change over time."

Demeter nodded, stepping in to support him. "Exactly. Remember when I was struggling with controlling nature? It took me years to figure out how to make my powers useful in a fight. It's not about what you can do right now—it's about what you can become."

Hera stomped her foot, her eyes still glowing with frustration. "That's easy for you to say! You've all found your place. I'm just... here. Spinning in circles, trying to figure out if I even matter in all of this."

Tezcatlipoca snickered from the sidelines, earning a glare from Hera. He raised his hands in mock surrender. "Hey, don't look at me. I'm just enjoying the show. But if you want my advice, maybe stop comparing yourself to everyone else. You're Hera. Figure out what that means for you, not for them."

Hera's gaze softened slightly, but her frustration was still evident. "That's easy for you to say, Tezcatlipoca. You've always known what you are."

Hades placed a hand on her shoulder, his voice gentle. "He's right, though. You're Hera, the goddess of family and marriage. Those might not seem like battle-ready titles, but they're powerful. Maybe your strength isn't just in fighting but in uniting us. And let's be honest, we're a pretty dysfunctional family."

Hera blinked at his words, her anger dimming as she processed them. "Uniting us? That's... not exactly what I had in mind."

Demeter chuckled. "Well, it's something only you can do. Trust me, we need someone who can keep us from tearing each other apart. That's a power in itself."

Hera sighed, dusting off her dress. "Fine. I'll try to figure it out. But don't expect me to just sit on the sidelines."

Tezcatlipoca smirked. "Good. Because if you were boring, I wouldn't waste my time watching. Now, let's see if you can keep up when we start the next round of training."

Hera narrowed her eyes at him, the fire returning to her gaze. "Oh, I'll do more than keep up. Just watch me."

Hades and Demeter exchanged a small smile as Hera marched off, determination clear in her every step. Tezcatlipoca shook his head with a chuckle. "She's got spirit, I'll give her that. Maybe she'll surprise us all."

Hades crossed his arms, watching his sister with a mix of pride and amusement. "She's always had that fire. She just needs to realize it for herself."

Demeter nodded. "And when she does, she'll be unstoppable."

Tiamat then spoke in Hades head. "I think it is time to use the future knowledge Hades, tell her about her all seeing eyes"

Hades mentally sighed. "I can do that, but still it is going to be hard, like how do make this work, her power are not something I can just easily explain, unless".

Hades then looked at Hera. "What animal are you connect to"

Hera looked at him. "Peacocks, why?"

Hades looked at her and spoke. "And what do they have in features".

Hera narrows her eyes as she looked at her younger brother. "Eyes, where is this going".

Hades looked at her. "Close your eyes, summon a peacock feature and try putting your energy through it".

Hera gave Hades a skeptical look but reluctantly closed her eyes, taking a deep breath to steady herself. She extended her hand, and with some concentration, a vibrant peacock feather materialized, shimmering with an iridescent glow. Her siblings watched curiously as she hesitated.

"Now, channel your energy into it," Hades encouraged, his tone calm but firm.

Hera focused, sending her divine energy into the feather. The feather began to glow brighter, its patterns shifting and swirling like a living tapestry. Suddenly, the eyes on the feather seemed to come alive, each one radiating a faint light.

Hera opened her eyes, startled by the sensation. "What... what is this?"

Hades stepped closer, his expression serious. "These aren't just decorative. The eyes on a peacock feather represent perception and insight. Your connection to them isn't just symbolic—it's a manifestation of your power. You have the ability to see things others can't, to understand truths hidden to most. We call it the All-Seeing Eyes."

Tezcatlipoca whistled low, clearly impressed. "Well, that's a neat trick. Didn't expect that from little miss temper tantrum."

Hera ignored him, staring at the glowing feather in awe. "All-Seeing Eyes? What does that even mean? Can I see the future?"

Hades shook his head. "Not exactly. It's not about seeing the future—it's about seeing deeper. You can perceive hidden intentions, uncover truths, and even see energy flows or weaknesses in others. It's a power that can turn the tide in battle if you learn to master it."

Hera's grip on the feather tightened as realization dawned. She closed her eyes again, this time with purpose. When she reopened them, her irises shimmered with an otherworldly glow, and the world around her seemed to shift. She could see faint auras surrounding her siblings, each one unique. Tezcatlipoca's aura flickered with a chaotic mix of shadows, while Demeter's radiated a soothing green light. Hades' aura was a deep, swirling void, almost pulling her in.

"I... I can see it," Hera whispered, her voice filled with wonder. "It's like I'm seeing the truth of things."

Hades smiled faintly. "That's just the beginning. With practice, you'll be able to use this in ways we can't even imagine."

Tezcatlipoca crossed his arms, clearly intrigued. "She's got potential. But seeing the truth doesn't mean she'll know how to handle it."

Hera shot him a sharp look, her confidence returning. "Watch me. I'll master this faster than you think."

Hades smirked, proud of her determination. "Good. Because the next time we face a real challenge, I'll be counting on you."

Hera nodded, clutching the feather as if it were a lifeline. For the first time, she felt like she had a purpose, a power uniquely hers. And she was determined to prove her worth, not just to her siblings, but to herself.

Hestia then spoke. "Now big question, this power is going to useful in our battle with father, but how do we put these things there".

Odin looked at her. "Will, when we do go to the Greek side of the world of the gods, oh boy that is going to be a lot of drawing every where".

Tezcatlipoca chuckled at Odin's comment, crossing his arms as he leaned against a nearby tree. "You're not wrong, Norse boy. Hera's going to be painting peacock eyes all over the battlefield. It'll be a sight to see—literally."

Hera frowned slightly, her confidence flickering. "But that's the problem. If I need to draw these eyes or place physical feathers everywhere, it's going to slow me down during a fight."

Hades nodded thoughtfully, glancing at Tezcatlipoca. "She has a point. We can't afford for her to be vulnerable while setting up her network."

Tezcatlipoca rubbed his chin in thought before snapping his fingers. "Why not make it faster? You don't always need to physically place them. Try projecting your energy into the environment itself. If your connection to peacocks is strong enough, you should be able to summon their features anywhere."

Hera blinked, intrigued. "You mean... create them from nothing? Without needing a physical object?"

"Exactly," Tezcatlipoca said. "You're a goddess. If Hestia can turn into a walking inferno and Hades can manipulate shadows and the dead, summoning some glowing eyes isn't out of reach."

Hestia grinned. "He's got a point. Come on, Hera, give it a shot!"

Taking a deep breath, Hera stepped forward, closing her eyes and focusing. She visualized the vibrant patterns of a peacock feather, the intricate details of its "eyes," and the feeling of connection it gave her earlier. Slowly, she extended her hand, and a faint shimmer of energy radiated outward.

In a flash, a glowing, ethereal peacock feather materialized on the ground in front of her, its eyes sparkling with life. Hera opened her eyes, a wide grin spreading across her face. "I did it!"

"Not bad," Tezcatlipoca said, impressed. "Now, try making more—faster."

Hera nodded, this time spreading her arms wide. The energy flowed from her like ripples in water, and dozens of peacock eyes appeared on nearby trees, rocks, and even the ground. The glowing eyes connected through faint threads of energy, forming a vast, interconnected web.

Odin let out a low whistle. "Well, that's something. She's making a surveillance network in real-time."

Hestia clapped her hands, laughing. "See? Now that's the power of family!"

Hera turned to Hades, her confidence returning in full. "This is going to be useful. I can keep watch over the battlefield, track our enemies, and warn everyone of incoming attacks."

Hades gave her a small smile. "Good. Now we're one step closer to taking on Father—and winning."

Tezcatlipoca stepped forward, inspecting the glowing peacock eyes scattered around. "This is a good start, but don't get too comfortable, kid. Surveillance is one thing, but it's not going to stop an attack on its own. You'll need to figure out how to weaponize this ability."

Hera raised an eyebrow. "Weaponize it? How?"

"Well," Tezcatlipoca began, "if your energy can manifest into these eyes, there's no reason you can't amplify their function. Make them more than just watchers—turn them into sentinels. They could blind enemies, immobilize them, or even launch attacks of their own. The possibilities are endless if you think creatively."

Hera considered his words, glancing at the eyes glowing softly around her. "I suppose I could try... but it'll take practice."

"Plenty of time for that," Hades interjected. "Right now, we're in a safe space, and the Titans aren't breathing down our necks yet. Use this time wisely."

Demeter chimed in, leaning casually against a tree. "You're not alone in this, Hera. We all have our strengths. If you can cover the battlefield with these eyes, it'll let the rest of us move more strategically. It's not just about fighting—it's about making sure we're all working together."

Hera nodded, her determination solidifying. "I'll work on it. And I won't let any of you down."

Odin clapped his hands together. "That's the spirit! Now, who's next to discover a hidden power, hmm? Maybe you, Demeter? Got any surprise tricks up your sleeve?"

Demeter rolled her eyes. "Unlike you Norse types, we Greeks don't pull powers out of thin air. I know what I can do, and I'll focus on making that better."

Hestia interjected with a mischievous grin. "Sure, but wouldn't it be hilarious if Demeter suddenly sprouted some random lightning ability or something?"

Demeter shot her a look, but the tension broke as everyone laughed.

Tezcatlipoca smirked, crossing his arms. "Alright, jokes aside, we need to keep up this momentum. Hades, Hera, and Hestia are making strides, but Zeus, Poseidon, and Demeter—don't slack off. The Titans won't wait for us to be ready."

Hades looked around at his siblings, his expression serious. "Tezcatlipoca's right. We've made progress, but it's nowhere near enough. When we face Father and the Titans, we can't afford any weaknesses."

Hera straightened, her confidence returning. "Then let's keep training. No more excuses. We're going to be ready, and when the time comes, we'll show the Titans what the next generation of gods can do."

The group nodded, the determination in the air palpable. The night continued with each of them focusing on honing their abilities, sparring, and strategizing for the inevitable clash with Cronus and his forces.
