Chapter 64 - League of villains (part 1)

It was the day after Thanksgiving, and while the rest of the world was engrossed in the chaos of Black Friday shopping, the League of Villains found themselves in a festive mood. The hideout, usually cluttered with remnants of their mischief and schemes, was going to transform into a winter wonderland, or so they decided over their usual post-meeting drinks.

Toga, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm, was the first to bring up the idea. "We should decorate for Christmas!" she exclaimed, twirling around excitedly.

"Christmas?" Dabi scoffed, lighting a cigarette. "What's the point? We're villains; we should be embracing despair, not holiday cheer."

"Aw, come on, Dabi! We're humans too! It'll be fun!" Twice bubbled, bouncing around the room in his usual over-the-top manner. "Imagine all the fun decorations! We could even make it scary!"

"It's Christmas, not Halloween," Shigaraki muttered, scratching at his neck, though it was clear he was intrigued. He always enjoyed disrupting normalcy, and perhaps a themed holiday would suit his interests after all.

Eventually, they all agreed to give it a shot. Mr. Compress, ever the showman, pulled out a stash of decorations he had "acquired" over the years. "I'll bring some flair," he said dramatically, his hands making grand gestures, while Kurugiri set the mood with some soft music playing in the background.

With laughter and banter filling the room, they hung up twinkling lights, draped tinsel over furniture, and carefully placed a small, spindly tree in the corner. Toga insisted on decorating it with red ribbons and little glass baubles that shone like scattered gems.

As the hideout filled with unexpected warmth, they all found themselves having fun—something that seldom happened when they were plotting their next chaos. Dabi even begrudgingly tied a few baubles to a string and hung them up, though he would never admit it was enjoyable.

It was around this time that the sound of a heavy door creaked open, and their laughter was interrupted by an unusual presence. All For One, the enigmatic and once-terrifying leader of the League, stepped inside, his expression betraying nothing as his eyes wandered over their decorated hideout.

For a moment, they all froze, wondering why he was here and fearing a potential reprimand for their festive shenanigans. However, to their surprise, All For One's lips curled into a smile—albeit an unsettling one—as he took in the sight.

"Well, well, what do we have here?" he said, his voice both deep and cheerful. "I see you've taken the liberty to indulge in the spirit of Christmas!"

The League stared in shock. It was rarely that he appeared to them with such enthusiasm. They had assumed a villain of his stature would disregard anything that didn't align with his grand plans.

"I must admit," he continued, his smile widening, "I've always loved this time of year—a time for creativity, camaraderie, and generosity."

"Wait, you actually like Christmas?" Mr. Compress asked incredulously, adjusting his top hat.

"Like it? I revel in it!" All For One declared, producing an oversized box filled with decorations, fake snow, and even Christmas-themed villains. "Now, let's see how you've decorated! I can help."

Toga's eyes sparkled with excitement as she clapped her hands. "This is going to be amazing!"

With the leaders of chaos suddenly engaged in festive coordination, they decorated with wild abandon. Kurugiri created a swirling mist that encased the fake snow, making it appear like it was falling gently throughout the hideout. Dabi, entertained by All For One's delight, found himself in a competition to see who could hang lights the highest.

All For One led the charge, directing the League with a surprising amount of enthusiasm and flair typically reserved for his more sinister plots. It became a curious celebration of villainy merged with holiday spirit, as the hideout transformed into a chaotic mixture of light and darkness.

Hours passed, filled with laughter that even Shigaraki found himself occasionally joining, albeit against his better judgment. They hung a giant ominous wreath on the door, complete with a skeleton dressed as Santa, and even draped garlands of thorns around the wall.

When they finally sat down to admire their work, a twinkling peace filled the air—the kind of peace that was fleeting yet oddly comforting. For a moment, they were just a bunch of misfits sharing good times, an unusual combination against the backdrop of their darker loyalties.

As they raised their glasses in a toast, the League of Villains discovered something they hadn't realized they craved: connection within the chaos, and as it turned out, a little bit of Christmas spirit wasn't so bad after all. All For One simply chuckled, the fatherly figure he had always been, blending seamlessly into this new layer of their twisted family.

"Cheers to the unexpected joys of chaos," he said, raising his glass.

"Cheers!" they echoed, and for that night, they were not just villains—they were a dysfunctional family celebrating Christmas together.
