Chapter 19 - Halloween Trunk or Treat part 4

As everyone worked together, the anticipation began to build. Who would have the best trunk? What themes would prevail? All of this was briefly interrupted by the tardiness of the Dekusquad, their absence noted as they scoured the town in search of games and treats for the younger kids.

"That Deku better hurry up! We have to finish decorating before it gets dark!" Bakugo called out, as he set up red velvet cupcakes on the Halloween snack table.

Just then, the familiar sound of their friends approaching reached the group. The distant rumble of tires and the squeak of brakes heralded their arrival. The classmates turned their heads, spotting Deku's black car rolling into the courtyard with bold letters drawn across the side: "Deku's Spooky Spectacle."

Deku open the door, and with a flourish, unveiled a hauntingly beautiful ghost-themed trunk. White sheets fluttered like wispy ghosts, while reddish-orange lights twinkled like will-o'-the-wisps. The interior boasted a mini haunted house made from cardboard with genuine decorations bought from local shops. The kids squealed in delight at the sight, and Deku beamed with pride.

"Sorry we're late!" he panted, wiping a bead of sweat from his brow. "But we brought some ghost games that will leave everyone spooked... in a fun way!"

Just behind him, Todoroki emerged, and his trunk stole everyone's attention. Decorated with deep blues and eerie greens, it reflected a Coraline theme. Porcelain doll replicas adorned the back, and glowing buttons served as eyes, while pale streamers floated eerily around. To make it even more striking, a cool breeze swirled around as Todoroki launched a small homemade wind quirk, giving the whole setup an otherworldly effect.

"Looks like you went all out, Todoroki," Mina admired, clapping her hands in excitement.

Tsuyu hopped in next, her trunk embodying a dark romance. Black and red roses intertwined among skulls and candles, creating a beautifully gothic atmosphere. She painted a sign that read, "Love is Eternal," and invited everyone to the 'Wishing Well' game she had put together—where kids could toss in coins and make wishes for Halloween candy.

"Ribbit! This will be fun for the kids," Tsuyu said, her eyes gleaming with enthusiasm.

Next came Iida, who was a whirlwind of energy and excitement. His truck was entirely covered in a skull motif, complete with a giant—albeit inflatable—skull perched ominously on top. He explained that he had setup an 'Obstacle course of Doom,' where kids could race through haunted barrels and around spooky cones.

"Here's hoping everyone upholds the spirit of friendly competition!" Iida proclaimed, straightening his goggles, his voice booming with passion.

Lastly, Ochako arrived, her truck embodying the very essence of a broken doll. She wore a sweet, raggedy dress and painted her face in ghostly white with large, drawn-on cracks. Her setup was enchanting yet unsettling, with porcelain doll parts scattered tastefully among the decorations. She planned a game called 'Pin the Heart on the Doll,' which was sure to have the younger kids giggling in delight.

As they all settled in to finalize their setups, the sun dipped below the tree line, and shadows danced across the courtyard. The rest of Class 1-A joined in to help, and soon laughter echoed through the air as kids and parents began to arrive, eyes wide with awe at the imaginative trunks before them.

The atmosphere grew electric with excitement as the trunk or treat event began, and the Dekusquad felt proud to add their unique flair to the fundraiser. Each trunk, a different realm of wonder and fright, told a story in its own right, reflecting the creativity and spirit of heroes in training.

And as they all gathered for a moment of camaraderie, amidst the laughter and cheers of the children, they knew their efforts had led to something truly magical. Class 1-A didn't just win over the kids—they created memories that would last long past Halloween, bringing a sense of unity that only strengthened their bonds of friendship.
