Chapter 88: Returning to the Martial World
"My arm!" Lin Quan cried out as he saw his severed arm. Overwhelmed with rage and despair, he collapsed from the sky.
"Deputy Commander!" The members of the Black Abyss Army hurriedly flew up to catch him. Regardless of everything, Lin Quan was their Deputy Commander, and if he died, they would all face severe punishment.
"Relax, I didn't kill him," Xiao Tian said calmly. He knew that even if he did kill Lin Quan, Xun'er would shield him from any repercussions, but he didn't want her to bear that burden.
Xun'er approached Xiao Tian, hugging him tightly. "Brother Xiao Tian, I have to go now."
"It won't be long before I come to find you," Xiao Tian replied, feeling deeply reluctant to part with her.
Xun'er smiled sweetly, nodding firmly. "I'll be waiting for you." She gave Xiao Tian one last deep look, then leaped into the air and landed on one of the four-winged unicorns. Her long hair fluttered in the wind, making her look like an ethereal fairy.
"Take care, Young Master Xiao Tian. This old servant bids you farewell!" Ling Ying clasped his hands in salute, then disappeared in a flash, reappearing next to Xun'er.
The four-winged unicorns flapped their massive wings, creating a gust of wind as they soared out of Canaan City. Soon, they became tiny black dots on the horizon before vanishing completely.
Little Doctor Fairy walked over and said, "Even though Xun'er has left, I'm still here to keep you company!" She glanced at Zi Yan standing nearby and added, "Xun'er was right; you're always attracting girls. But this little one looks too young!"
Her gaze towards Xiao Tian was like that of someone looking at a pervert.
"What are you thinking?" Xiao Tian shrugged. "She's a transformed magical beast. She's been alive for at least a few hundred years."
"A magical beast?" Little Doctor Fairy blinked in disbelief.
Xiao Tian handed a tough herb to Zi Yan. She took it and bit into it without hesitation, proving her non-human nature.
Little Doctor Fairy finally believed him. Only a magical beast would eat herbs so raw and wild.
...
In the Martial World, Xiao Tian, Little Doctor Fairy, and Zi Yan appeared in a courtyard of a bustling city. Little Doctor Fairy marveled, "It's amazing! We just crossed through space to another city!"
Xiao Tian smiled. "This isn't just another city; we're in a different world."
"What? A different world?" Little Doctor Fairy was utterly shocked. To her, the idea of another world besides the Dou Qi Continent was beyond belief.
"This kid must be talking about a small world," Tian Huo Zun-zhe thought to himself. "I remember that the ancient clans' Dou Di once created worlds for their clans. This kid's surname is Xiao, and he's connected to the Ancient Clan. Could he be from the Xiao Clan that was destroyed? And is this the lost Xiao Realm?"
The thought made him anxious.
Xiao Tian turned to Little Doctor Fairy and Zi Yan. "I'm going to visit my family. Do you want to come with me?"
"No," they both shook their heads.
"Alright, you can rest here. I'll be back soon." Xiao Tian then left the courtyard.
"Brother Xiao Tian," a member of the Xiao Clan greeted him shortly after he left the courtyard.
Xiao Tian nodded. "Are the Clan Leader and the Elders here?"
"They're all here," the man replied.
Xiao Tian went to the council hall. When the elders saw him, the Third Elder exclaimed, "Xiao Tian, you're finally back!"
"Why? Did something happen?" Xiao Tian asked.
"No, no," the Third Elder quickly shook his head.
Xiao Zhan smiled. "The Third Elder means he's glad we've become the top force in Flame City."
"Indeed," the First Elder said, stroking his beard. "It's all thanks to you, Xiao Tian, that our Xiao Clan has reached such heights."
The Second Elder nodded. "Without you, we wouldn't be the dominant force in Flame City. We'd still be one of the three families in Wu Tan City."
Xiao Tian felt relieved. "I'm glad nothing bad happened."
Xiao Zhan asked, "Did you see Xiao Yan and the others?"
"Yes, they're doing well at Canaan Academy," Xiao Tian replied. "By the way, Xun'er has been taken back by the Ancient Clan."
"They took her back?" Xiao Zhan and the others exchanged glances. "Well, that's probably for the best."
After some casual conversation, Xiao Tian went to find Hai Bodong. Now a six-star Dou Huang, Hai Bodong greeted him. "Xiao Tian, I can't quite read your current cultivation level. What is it?"
"Just a six-star Dou Huang," Xiao Tian replied.
"Just?" Hai Bodong nearly spat out his drink. It had taken him decades to reach six-star Dou Huang, but Xiao Tian had done it before turning twenty. Such talent was enviable.
"But with the Pure Yuan Pills you provided, it would be shameful if I didn't break through," Hai Bodong said. "I plan to use the Huang Ji Pill when I reach seven-star Dou Huang, hoping it'll push me to nine-star Dou Huang. Then, with some time, I can aim for Dou Zong."
Xiao Tian looked around. "Where are Qing Tan and Qing Lin?"
"Back in Qingyang Town. They go there periodically," Hai Bodong said.
Xiao Tian nodded and left for Ironwood Manor.
