Three days later,
Grey had completely forgotten about the day Carmen had promised. He had immersed himself in his work once more, as if Carmen had never existed. The monotony of his life had returned, filled with endless business dealings and little time for personal care or enjoyment. Despite his wealth, he sought more, neglecting to appreciate what he already had. It was Carmen, during their brief time together, who had brought a refreshing change to his life.
It was Tuesday, and Grey was scheduled to hold a business meeting with the board of directors of Grey Mobile at the plaza. When Carmen entered the conference room, everyone was surprised to see her. As the new secretary, she was unlike any secretary they had ever encountered. Her beauty surpassed May's, and her attitude was wholely admired.
Grey was starting to fall for her beauty again but was determined not to be distracted during the business meeting. He pretended not to have noticed her presence in order to focus.
The meeting finally concluded. The directors embarked on a tour of the plaza, as it had been some time since their last visit. Grey noticed that Carmen was accompanying them, which surprised him greatly. It was becoming increasingly difficult to keep his eyes off her.
Grey returned to his office shortly after the tour. The office had a new appearance. Carmen had taken care of the office while he was in the conference room.
Carmen entered the room shortly after Grey sat down at his desk. Grey felt an urge to invite her to his place again. He didn't want to miss another opportunity, especially now that she was about to return to her chamber. Grey decided to take his chance and tell her, knowing that next time he would have to call her out of her chamber, which he considered disruptive.
Hey," he called from behind.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Grey," she replied.
"So, I haven't been seeing you around. Looks like you've been through a lot, huh?" Grey said, standing up.
"Sort of, but it's not as bad as the previous days. I have less work today," Carmen replied.
"Oh, that's great," Grey said, an idea sparking in his mind. It was the perfect time to ask her again. "So, about the hangout, I think today is the best time, right?" he said confidently.
""Oh, about that? I almost forgot about it, but I remember now. Anyway, I'm free today, so why not?"
"Wow, that's great. I bet I'll have to pick you up then," Grey said with a smile.
"Well, you insisted a lot, so it's hard to deny. I have to accept it then," Carmen replied.
"Carmen, I hope I'm not bothering you," Grey said, his voice husky.
About what?" Carmen asked.
Grey took a breath and looked at her. "Carmen, you see, I sometimes love to insist. And I think I've gone a bit too hard on you."
"No, Mr. Grey. It's all good. I'm tolerant," she smiled.
"Well, thanks for accepting me the way I am. But after all, I won't change a bit of my behavior. I'll still be the way I am. See you in the evening, Carmen," Grey said.
Carmen seemed to stand still, she smiled to Grey," before you go, I want you to have this", Grey said as he placed a device in Carmen's hands,
"What is this", she asked,
"Just have it it'll help me locate you", said Grey.
Carmen proceeded to her office, she thought a lot of Grey's behavior and facial expression when it comes to her and it left her in confusions and a smiley face the whole day. The day seemed to bring a sparkle to Grey's face too, Carmen's beauty impressed him even more.
Soon work day was done and Grey departed Carmen stayed at the office as she usually did, her phone started ringing, she thought it was Grey and she answered without checking who it was.
"Hello Grey", she answered,
"Hello Carmen", it was a woman's voice, Carmen recognized it and was shocked to hear it,
"What are you doing right now, you shouldn't call me at work right, I already told you", Carmen said quietly,
"Enough messing around, I don't care where you are, I call whenever I want",
"at least speak quietly right, you're too loud and you could get me caught".
Carmen seemed to be afraid of the woman, and she seemed to have a special relation with the woman who called,
"Okay Carmen, so are you close to what I sent you to do, I've been waiting for so long", she said,
"Boss, I'm still in progress, but believe me the subject is easy to fool, I think the mission will be a success no matter what",
"Make yourself clear Carmen", the woman shouted.
"Alright, alright, what I mean is that I'm so close to getting it done, the billionaire is no match for me", Carmen said with a laugh,
"I hope you know what will happen if you don't get it done", the woman said,
"Boss I won't get myself into trouble, I will get the mission done, I've been convincing him to believe that I had a lot of work to do, yet I was busy trying to get the mission done" carmen said quietly.
"Good, Carmen gets it done, I need my money and I need it quick, and don't forget to take care of the old lady right"
"Boss, I'll get it done, but I ask one favor, get Pedro out of my apartment I need no company, he makes me never allow Grey to come over to the apartment, and do it now for he is coming tonight", she said.
The call ended, Carmen breathed heavily as she aborted the call, feeling insecure of having Pedro bothering her at the apartment while Grey was so pick her up that night, she thought of tricking Grey into meeting her at the plaza to keep her mission unspotted. Jane entered the office as soon as the call ended,
"Carmen", Jane called from behind,
"Oh jane, what a surprise", Carmen placed the phone down and pretended to be doing some work,
"Who was that", said Jane,
"no one, it's an ordinary friend, by the way there's something I wanted to show you…",
"No Carmen, I think that talk wasn't friendly" Jane interrupted.
"Jane why don't you sit and we can talk it over".
"So, jane I want you to understand me, it was just a friend of mine and we were talking about an unfinished deal we had together you know",
"Carmen, I really never doubted you, I know you're the only kind person around, if you're telling the truth, then I have to believe you", jane said as she stood up, "Carmen, I adore your behavior and keep it that way, I guess I have a lot to do so I'll get going" jane went out.
"That was easy", Carmen said to herself as jane went out.
It was time to go home. Carmen returned to her apartment, relieved to find Pedro already gone. She needed to prepare for dinner with Grey. While she didn't particularly care for the night, she was a girl with a specific mission and had managed to convince Grey quite convincingly.
Grey was punctual indeed he arrived at Carmen's apartment and picked her up, she was looking good That night. She got into his car and they moved to Grey's.
Carmen was impressed by the gates as they entered Grey's home, it was a luxurious house, the pool all shining with lights inside.
Carmen kept on looking side to side as they got out of the Car, Grey took Carmen upstairs and more wonders came to Carmen's eyes her eyes, but she hadn't arrived at the top of the building and grey's amazing garage.
They descended to the basement for a tour of the garage. Carmen was astonished by the bright lights that illuminated the space as they entered. She saw an array of luxury cars in Grey's garage, even several that she had never seen before.
"Wow, Grey, this is truly amazing. I never thought someone could own so many cars," she said as they approached another car enclosed in a perspex cage. Carmen was shocked to see it. It was exceptionally protected and more beautiful than the others.
"And what's with the bluish car", she said as she came closer,
"Whoa don't get closer you don't want to trigger the alarm, it's protected" grey said as he turned off the alarm system, "well this is a jaguar, one of my father's, and he gave it to me just before he passed away it was a gift for my birth day", he said,
"But not to be a bummer I get the reason now behind your neglecting to having fun, it's all these cars, you can't be bored while riding these cars on a highway",
"Well, yeah but still fun isn't my nature, I grew up alone only me and my parents, I never had a sibling to have fun with" said Grey,
"Oh, sorry I guess it's been a little hard for you"
"No worries, it's fine, by the way we're not done with the tour, let's get going you've not seen the best part", Grey said as they went upstairs.
Carmen was enjoying the tour, and so was Grey. They seemed to be having a wonderful time together. Grey was again captivated by Carmen's beauty and her wonderful attitude. However, Carmen was a good girl for a reason. She was up to no good with Grey falling for her unknowingly.
Grey took Carmen to the top of the building, which had a beautiful decor, even better than that at the birthday party. "Well, let me guess. You used to have romantic dinners with your wife up here, right?" she said, looking around.
"Actually, we didn't usually have romantic dinners. She was into many things and didn't care about her husband. Thank goodness we didn't have any kids together," Grey joked.
"Seriously?" Carmen asked.
"Yeah, trust me, it would have been even worse if we did have kids together. She would never get off my back," Grey replied.
"Maybe I do agree with you on that. She wouldn't let go until she had all your wealth. What a wicked woman she was," Carmen said with a smile.
Actually, Carmen, the other time when you didn't show up, I had prepared this place just for you."
Carmen's eyes widened in surprise. "Really?"
"Yeah, and to make it even better, I prepared a pepperoni pizza just for you. You love it, right?" Grey asked with a mischievous grin.
Carmen's face lit up. "How did you know?"
"Well, I've been paying attention," Grey replied, a hint of pride in his voice. "I remember you mentioned it once, and I thought it would be a nice surprise.
"How thoughtful I would really love it" she said.
Carmen's gaze met Grey's, and he was instantly captivated by her extraordinary beauty. Her allure was overwhelming, momentarily clouding his judgment.
Grey remained oblivious to Carmen's true intentions, his feelings for her deepening with each passing moment. Yet, her actions seemed calculated, drawing him closer with a hidden purpose.
