Chapter 79 - Chapter 78

Isabel POV

The sharp crack of the sniper's shot echoed through the air, and my heart seized as Victor staggered. For a moment, the world narrowed to him—a stumbling figure, his hand clutching his shoulder. Blood bloomed through his jacket, but he stayed on his feet.

"He's hit!" Miguel shouted, already moving to pull Victor back into cover.

"Not fatal," Marissa called from her position, her voice tight. She scanned the horizon, her rifle poised. "But the next one will be."

"We need to move!" I said.

Miguel pulled Victor behind the barricade. "Can you walk?"

Victor nodded. "It's just a graze."

Marissa fired off two quick shots. "Snipers got a spotter. They're repositioning."

Miguel grabbed my arm, pulling me into motion. "Isabel, can you get us an exit? Fast?"

"The systems still locked. I need time."

"You don't have time!"
