Chapter 6 - Ch-6 Painful Past

Location: A Secret Hideout 🏚️

The dimly lit room echoed with the low hum of machinery, and the faint flicker of a single light bulb hanging from the ceiling cast shadows across the floor. In the center of the room, Kabir stood silently, his eyes fixed on a photograph pinned to the wall in front of him.

It was a simple photograph. Two people were smiling in it - a man in his early thirties and a young boy, no more than nine years old. The man had his arm around the boy's shoulders, their eyes reflecting a shared moment of happiness, of innocence.

Kabir's face, usually unreadable, now revealed something rare - pain. His hand slowly reached up and touched the edge of the photograph, his fingertips tracing the outline of the man's face.

Flashback ---- Charity Fund Event ( 2004 )

The sound of music, laughter and the festive beats of the famous song "Dhoom Machale" filled the air as the charity event at Mumbai's Grand Pavilion was in full swing. The city's elite had gathered to support a noble cause, unaware of the chaos that was about to ensue.

In the midst of the festivities, Kabir and his gang moved like shadows, blending seamlessly into the crowd as they plotted their next big heist. The plan was flawless. They had rehearsed it a dozen times, and Kabir's genius for strategy had ensured that every detail was perfect.

But not everything went according to plan.

The moment the robbery began, so did Jai Dixit and Ali's pursuit. Chaos ensued as Kabir's team engaged in a high-speed chase, weaving through crowds and alleyways. The sound of gunshots echoed through the narrow streets as Jai and Ali pursued relentlessly, each shot fired bringing them closer to the thieves.

In one narrow alley, Kabir's right-hand man, Raghu, ran alongside Kabir to cover his escape. As they zigzagged through the streets, Raghu raised his gun to fire at the pursuing cops. Jai quickly took aim and fired a shot that should have disarmed Raghu.

But fate had other plans.

BAM! 💥 🔫

The bullet meant for Raghu's shoulder ricocheted unexpectedly. The force of the impact sent Raghu stumbling back, clutching his chest as blood began to seep through his shirt. His eyes widened in shock, the pain overwhelming him as he collapsed against a nearby wall.

Frozen for a split second, Jai lowered his gun, knowing this wasn't how it was supposed to happen. But the chase couldn't stop. Kabir was still out there, on the run. Jai had no time to mourn the accident.

"Ali, call an ambulance!" Jai yelled over his shoulder and ran after Kabir.

Ali rushed to Raghu's side as other officers arrived at the scene. "Hang in there, Yaar. Help is coming!" Ali muttered, trying to comfort the man as paramedics were called.

Suddenly, a 9-year-old boy appeared, teary-eyed and running toward the scene, shouting, "Dad!" The boy was Raghu's son. He had come to see his father at the charity event, not knowing it would be the last time he would see him alive.

The officers moved quickly and loaded Raghu into an ambulance. His son tried to run after the vehicle, screaming for his father, but the officers held him back, unable to stop the tears streaming down the boy's face.

In the ambulance, Raghu's breathing grew weaker with each passing second. The bullet had done too much damage. His vision blurred, the lights of the city flashing by as they raced toward the hospital.

But he never made it. Before they reached the hospital, Raghu was gone.

The doctors tried to revive him, but there was nothing they could do. He had died on the way, leaving behind a young son and a past he never had a chance to reconcile.

Flashback ends.
