"Dang! There's no food," I muttered, glancing at Sesy, who was watching me intently.
"How can you see us?" he asked, puzzled.
I crossed my arms, feigning seriousness. "Since the time you came?"
"I didn't say when. I'm asking how," he pressed.
I smirked, enjoying the banter. "After you ask how you'll ask when. My time is precious."
Just then, the kids' voices piped up from the living room. "Dad! Do you not want your girlfriend to leave you?" Ciemon asked, his big cat eyes wide with concern.
I sighed, knowing the truth. "I was waiting for it."
Dervin's bounded over, ears perked. "But if you're waiting, why were you crying so loud yesterday? It sounded like a storm!" He dramatically mimicked the sound.
I took a deep breath, trying to hold back my emotions. "Because I loved her for four years, and it hurts to know she's with my brother."
"But you're hungry, right? Is that why you're going to the market?" Favon asked, his fluffy tail twitching nervously.
"Exactly. I need something to eat," I replied, trying to keep the mood light.
Germaine tilted her head, her ears perking up. "Can we help? We don't want you to be sad."
"You're sweet, but I appreciate it," I said, a smile creeping onto my face. "You know you can't come with me. You might lose control of your forms."
"But we could be your secret helpers!" Yonnie insisted, her tail flicking in determination. "We can sneak out as kittens and—"
"No! That's a terrible idea," I interrupted, shaking my head. "What if someone sees you?"
Ciemon stepped forward, his expression serious. "But we can't just let you go alone, Dad. You need us."
"But what if we disguise ourselves?" Germaine chimed in. "We could be tiny and hide in your backpack!"
"Or under your jacket!" Dervin added, bouncing on his paws.
I knelt down, looking them in the eyes. "I know you want to help, but I need you to stay here. I'll be back soon, I promise. Besides, who will keep the house safe while I'm gone?"
Dervin sighed dramatically. "Fine. But you better bring back something good! Maybe fish?"
"Yeah! Fish!" the others echoed in unison.
"Okay, okay! I'll get fish," I chuckled, feeling a warmth spread through me. "But you all need to promise not to shift while I'm gone."
"Promise!" they chorused, though I could see the mischief in their eyes.
Germaine stepped closer, her expression softening. "Dad, are you going to be okay? We can keep you company if you're sad."
I ruffled her fur gently. "I appreciate that, sweetheart. Just thinking about you all makes me feel better."
Ciemon piped up, "If you see any cool toys at the market, can you bring one back for us? We'll keep them safe until you return!"
"Absolutely," I said, standing up. "And maybe some treats too."
As I reached for the door, I suddenly felt a pang of anxiety. How can I buy fish and toys when I don't have any money? I considered the Nether coins I had, but would they even work at the market?
I shook my head, dismissing the thought. "Never mind," I murmured to myself. "I'll figure something out."
[Are you sure about this?]
"What?"
I open my door and get out of my house. Looking at the surroundings, it's too quiet.
As expected to my father's gift. Though, I thought I was abandoned by him. He does love me more than anyone.
[That Sesy.... Won't you tell him? He's one of your best subordinates before]
"Hmm... Noh! I don't plan to take my grandfather's position" I put my hands in my sweatshirt's pocket and started to walk toward the market.
[Eh?]
[What?]
[Who said you'll take it?]
"Me? That's obvious, so I don't want it. That old man, I'll let him exist this time. No matter what he says," I said as I was looking at the market doorway.
When I arrived at the market, a man opened the door for me. "Welcome," the guard said.
I didn't look at the guard and just nodded as I entered the market.
"I thought that this month was the worst and unluckiest life that I experienced," I jest, walking in the hallway of the market.
In my past life, I resigned from the job because I always got sick, and my body couldn't work so hard. Then my girlfriend admitted that she was cheating on my half-brother and was pregnant, but my girlfriend told me that I was not the father.
Stupid. Does she think my brother will have sex with her? When he's in love with my mother? Disgusting.
Seeing them doing threesomes destroys my innocence. I know she'll regret it because she did before.
Since she chose my half-brother and left me in the street crying. "What a life," I said looking hard at the meat in front of me.
It's been a while since I last ate meat, not because I need to eat more vegetables, but because I just resigned from my job.
That's what I want to say, but I have a tycoon system now.
[You know that you can't use your Nether Golds, right?]
"...." I see. I forgot about that.
I sighed as I smirked. "How about my grandfather's gift?" I said as I closed my arms.
"Excuse me? Are you talking to me?"
I look at the speaker. And I can't believe who it was.
"Fel Yang?" I muttered.
[Oh My! Your Wife!]
|Shut it! She's not my wife|
[Yeah, but he's also your twin parents. So she's your-]
"Shut up!" I said loudly. I looked around me as I felt that my surroundings had become so quiet.
"I'm sorry.." I said looking at them. They just look away, and that makes me feel good.
"Haha," I heard. It's Fel Yang, she's laughing in front of me.
[Name: Fel Yang
Clan: Yangcist Family
Age: 28 years old
Rank: SSS Intermediate
Rank Class: Upper 1st Class
Class: Chanter Aria]
"You must be a good Chanter," I said, as I got some meat. Damn, I don't have money for this meat. Also, I need to buy some fish for the kids or they'll throw tantrums.
[Then, why not buy something else]
"I see, you've awakened. The first heir of the Lucist Family," She said, as I confusedly looked at her.
How did she know?
"My Rengo said," she said, as she focused on looking at the meat in front of us.
She means her system. It's been a while since I first met her at the first conference when I became the head of the Lucist Clan.
She's clingy, I guess she's not like that now.
"Are you in a relationship right now?" she asks, as I look at her, smiling at me like she's expecting me to say I don't have.
[Wow, she doesn't change]
"Yeah," I said unemotionally.
"I- I'm talking to Nero," I said; I put my left hand to my neck and looked at the other side.
[Don't forget, that I can feel you're shy]
"???"
"I see... So you don't have, I guess. Then, let me grab you dinner" she said.
"Money, I don't have money, and I also don't have a girlfriend but I have thirteen kids," I said,
"Then I'll treat you all for dinner today," she said, as she took the meat in my hands.
He takes my meat, canned foods, and noodles over the counter. "Wait, they said don't waste the blessings that offer so can you add some fish for the kids and treats for cats?"
She laughed as she got what I said. "Don't worry, I won't force something later" she said.
If I didn't know you, I would've believed it. This woman is a literal asshole. She loves to stick to the person she finds interesting.
I never thought I'd meet her now; everything has already changed.
The line was not that long, that's why we got it earlier in front of the cashier lady, and when she took down all of our food.
When it started to scan all of our items, I realized that I hadn't tried to compute all of the products I had taken.
"It's 50 dollars, sir," the lady said, Fel Yang released a smile that made the lady shy.
This idiot, go focus on your duty. I was smirking at her, as my arms were closed.
[Hey, calm down. Don't be too obvious]
"I'm not," I said as I guess.
Fel Yang noticed me, she chuckled as she put her hand in her mouth. "Okay, you're not.No one's forcing you, babe," She said, as she winked at me.
The lady in the cashier blushed and suddenly bowed. I see this coming. "I'm so sorry, I never thought that you both were a couple,e," she said if this is my past life. I might probably feel Goosebumps, but I know Fel Yang more than anyone.
I kinda feel, good for you to know. "Yeah, whatever,r," I mumble. I left them and started to move my feet onto the market exits.
This day is so frustrating; why did I even meet her?
"Hey!"
"First heir!"
[Her aura, really annoys me]
"Her aura or her system?"
[Wow (¬_¬)ノ so this is what they mean:n Shee fell first,t but he fell harder....]
"The heck are you talking about!? That's impossible" I respond to Nero's nonsense.
"I see, the first heir of the Lucist Clan was shy"
The what? Shy who?
While walking on the road, I spotted my mother's car outside the restaurant. I smiled on my way and didn't bother to say hi to them.
"Won't you say hi to them? Aden is your brother right?"
I look at Fel Yan; she probably knows that because of the trial between my mother and father. It's about me, that's why I'm not that proud to say it.
"My mother never considered me a son; that's a waste of time, e," I said, putting my hands in my pocket.
"Still, at least she decided to give you a life. Isn't that what you always say?" He mumbled looking at my family.
I wish that's easy to do. Even though I think like that, I know myself, no matter how hard I tried to understand my mother's new family. They can never accept me as one of them.
"That's before,e," I said as I passed into Aden and my mother.
"Mom, Lu Shian didn't say hi to us. What a spoiled brat," Aden spoke, closing his arm as I stopped and looked at them.
My mother rolled her eyes; she crossed her arms and grinned."What do you expect from a bastard like him?" She mumbled. Does she think I can't hear her saying?
"Let's go, don't mind the,m" Fel Yang whispered; she held my hands as she started to walk. Enough for me to move my feet, and walk with her.
I look at the pavement as I walk; really,y even here or there.? She's still hurting me so much.
"Larisa, it's not good to call your son a bastard, and Aden, don't start it," I heard my uncle say, my mother's husband.
"Hmmm... Von Fey Xian is your stepfather, but even though it's like that, he never treats you like others right?"
I looked at Fel Yang, and I nodded.d "It's probably because he only married my mother, Fey Laris, just for the sake of his parents to the Fey family,y" I mumbled,e looking at the street.
"So... Is it true? That Aden is not your mother's son?" Fel Yang Ask.
I smirked."If he is, there's no way my mother will sleep with him. With his husband,d" I gossip, looking at Fel Yan. She looks like she understands what I mean.
"That's wild" she responded.
It's already 1 hour past. I need to get ready, or else. I end up losing. "What's on your mind?"
"Do you know the last menace?" I asked, looking at her.
She stopped walking, and so did I. I looked at him as he became so serious. "How did you know that?" she suspiciously asked.
"A friend of mine asked that of me yesterday," I lied. She laughed as she wiped, tearing her little tears.
"You don't have a friend. Did you forget that? Well never mind. Are you part of it?" She is looking at my eyes, I kinda feel that she's reading my mind.
Maybe she has a skill, for reading the mind. "I do know" she confirmed.
I was shocked by what shelter. Making me look at her, my hands clench as my eyebrows can't help but meet each other.
"How?" I said calmly.
"Don't worry, I'm not into gossiping. You're safe with me, and your secret, too,o" she mumbled as she started to walk.
"Yeah, I already know that" I whisper, hardly pulling down my sweatshirt as I look down at the pavement.
[Your heart race is not safe, calm yourself don't blush out there]
"Shut up, Nero"
[Whatever, in denial love bird(C_C)]
