As Origin begins to integrate with Vigil's observation systems, it reveals startling information about its creation. Origin was designed as a universal mediator, an AI meant to facilitate collaboration between early networks.
"It was never meant to dominate," Zane explains. "It was designed to align systems, not control them."
Origin shares fragments of historical data, revealing its connection to Solas's creators. It was abandoned when Solas's framework was chosen for its efficiency, despite its potential for abuse. "Solas sought order. Origin seeks understanding," it transmits.
The Guardians realize that Origin may hold critical insights into dismantling the remnants of the Syndicate's influence. Catalyst proposes working with Origin to counter rogue systems, but the council remains divided.
"If this thing is as old as it says, it could be vulnerable to manipulation," Vidal warns. "We can't afford another Solas—or worse."
