Chapter 40 - Chapter 40: Harry's Request For Help

I saw Hermione and Harry sitting quietly in the Gryffindor common room. They didn't speak but appeared to be waiting for something.

At precisely midnight, the portrait hole opened, and Ron entered. He had been out, concealed under Harry's invisibility cloak. Eisen, observing this, recalled a question he had once asked Flitwick during his lessons on Apparition: whether it was possible to Apparate after casting an illusion spell on oneself.

Flitwick's answer had been no, as the spatial pressure during Apparition would nullify the illusion. However, upon seeing the invisibility cloak now, Eisen wondered if it would be possible to replicate its invisibility properties and thus achieve invisibility while Apparating.

Moreover, Eisen knew that Harry's cloak was one of the Deathly Hallows, making it more effective than other invisibility cloaks. Initially, he thought mastering the Disillusionment Charm would suffice, but now he reconsidered. If he could one day replicate the cloak's properties, he might manage invisibility and Apparition together.

Once Ron returned, the atmosphere livened as the three began to converse. Eisen noticed that Ron's hand was wrapped in a bloody handkerchief, likely injured. Based on earlier observations, he deduced that Ron had been bitten by the dragon Hagrid was raising.

Before they could talk much, Harry rushed to the window to let an owl in, retrieving a note. As the trio huddled around the note, Eisen, using the observation mirror, zoomed in on its contents:

"Dear Ron,

How are you? Thanks for writing to me—I'm happy to adopt the Norwegian Ridgeback, but getting him here won't be easy. The best plan is to send him to some friends who will visit next week. The challenge is, they can't be seen carrying a dragon illegally. Can you bring the Ridgeback to the tallest tower at midnight on Saturday? They'll take the dragon away while it's dark.

Please write back soon.

Love,

Charlie."

Eisen had anticipated this. Due to Malfoy discovering Hagrid's dragon, Harry and his friends had persuaded Hagrid to send Norbert away to Charlie Weasley in Romania. This letter confirmed that Charlie's friends would take Norbert from the Astronomy Tower on Saturday night.

Knowing this, Eisen considered whether to get involved. He decided it was just a minor event, not something requiring his attention.

The next day, after his daily spell practice in the Room of Requirement, Eisen went to the library. Unlike his usual habit of studying alchemy or ancient runes, today he focused on writing a script.

When Eisen and his father had registered Eisen Film and Television Company, they had agreed he would write scripts. Although Eisen had little interest in the company or its profits now that he was immersed in the wizarding world, he still wanted to make his parents happy by helping the company.

So, Eisen began writing a screenplay for *The Man From Earth*. Though decades had passed since he'd seen the film, he still remembered the general plot: a man, living among ordinary people, slowly revealing his remarkable history and achievements through a series of dialogues. Eisen wasn't interested in reproducing the script word for word; he just needed the story framework, and his father could find writers to fill in the details.

An hour later, Eisen had completed the script framework. Just as he was leaving the library, he ran into Hermione and Harry.

"Shouldn't you be studying? What are you doing here?" Eisen asked, feigning ignorance, though he knew they were worried about Norbert, Hagrid's dragon.

"Professor Eisen, could we ask for your help?" Hermione's tone suddenly became hesitant.

"Go on," Eisen said, encouraging her to continue.

Hermione and Harry explained their predicament: Hagrid had raised a dragon, and with Malfoy threatening to report it, they needed to send Norbert away.

"So, you want me to help transport the dragon to the Astronomy Tower?" Eisen summarized.

"Yes, the Ministry of Magic bans private dragon breeding. If Malfoy reports Hagrid, he'll be in serious trouble," Harry added, echoing Hermione's concern.

"So, how exactly do you expect me to help?" Eisen asked, though he already had an idea. Did they want him, as a professor, to escort them on a nighttime mission?

[Power Stones Required]

"Noble is rather large," Harry said, referring to Norbert by his name. "Could you help us transport him to the Astronomy Tower?"

How did they manage this in the original story? Oh yes, they put Norbert in a box, covered it with the invisibility cloak, and sneaked it to the tower. Eisen's face showed a trace of amusement as he recalled this.

Looking at Hermione and Harry, he realized they were counting on him.

"Have you tried fitting Norbert into the ring?" Eisen asked, referring to the enchanted storage rings he had given them.

"We tried, but the opening is too small for Norbert to fit through," Harry explained, shaking his head.

The entrance too small? Eisen considered this. These rings, expanded using the Undetectable Extension Charm, were useful for storing books and wands, but living creatures like Norbert couldn't pass through the small opening.

In the wizarding world, however, there was a solution for this: the Shrinking Charm. When cast on living or non-living things, it reduced their size instantly. Eisen recalled how Barty Crouch Jr., impersonating Mad-Eye Moody, had used the Shrinking Charm to adjust the size of a spider during a class.

This spell could be the key to moving Norbert.
