Chapter 49 - Chapter 49 Don’t Dip Into Where You Don’t Belong!

The iciness in Kelsie's voice rendered Laura speechless and she temporarily forgot how to speak.

She parted her lips several times to retort, but couldn't bring herself to utter any word in defense.

At the end of the day, she began struggling to get Kelsie's hand out of her hair, all to no agility.

Left with no other choice, she called out for help.

"B-Bryan, help me! It's hurts. It really hurts."

Bryan was startled at Kelsie's sudden action of pulling Laura's hair and forgot to act.

Upon being called upon, he straightened up and barked loudly, "Kelsie Sutton, what do you think you're doing?!"

In response to his question, Kelsie shot him a cold glance which scared him speechless.

When he realized he was scared speechless by a mere glance from her, his eyes reddened in anger and he stepped closer to them.

"I've been going easy on you ever since you got back, but that doesn't give you the right to do something like this!"

"I know you're still offended by what happened seven years ago, but anyone would've reacted the way I did! So there's no reason to treat your sister like…"

He was still talking when Kelsie sighed in irritation, "You, does your mouth never close? You keep speaking to me so formally like we're so close. It offends me."

With the already quiet room, everyone heard her and began glancing at each other in surprising.

The girls who had been simping over Bryan just a moment ago couldn't bring themselves to say anything in his defense.

Kelsie sounded like she was throwing him away and for people who considered themselves above her in this hacking world, they felt they would be eating up something a noob in their field tossed out.

That would be too embarrassing.

Once again, Bryan felt humiliated for the second time and blew up in anger. Everything she said was true and knowing this only aggravated his anger towards her.

He knew he couldn't keep quiet now or these people would look down on him even more.

Hence, pointing a shaky finger at her, he yelled through gritted teeth, "Kelsie Sutton, do you not know where you are? "

"Let Laura go this instant or I'll have the security drag you out for ruining the peace of this fine gathering!"

He had just finished speaking when three security men walked into the place.

As soon as Laura saw them, she beckoned onto them in a pained voice.

"This woman violated the rule about not fighting here. Hurry up and drag her out!"

They were yet to take a step forward when Kelsie glanced at them stoically.

"The rule said not to fight. Does this look like fighting to you?"

"What?" The security men didn't know when they blurted out in confusion.

Kelsie pointed at Laura and clarified, "This person here is my little sister and she has no manners. Do I not have the right to discipline her a little?"

The men shook their head slightly.

"Miss, a rule is a rule. You fought in the premises and as such we can't have…"

Kelsie immediately scoffed, calmly cutting them off. "Fought? Mister, do you know what fighting is at all?"

"Listen, fighting is when two people are being extremely hostile to each other. Take a careful look at us and tell me if either of us are being too hostile to the other."

When she put it like this, the security men couldn't help agreeing with her.

Indeed, she wasn't doing anything wrong. She didn't violate any rule at all.

The man leaning on the wall felt the corners of his lips spasm in amusement.

She wasn't just a woman with a foul mouth and bad temper who liked to play men, she also knew how to talk her way out of tricky situations.

"Team leaders, come in and take your seats. The contest will be kicking off in a bit. All those who aren't a contestant are welcomed to stay in the audience and watch them." The announcer's voice suddenly broke through the silent room.

Upon hearing that the contest was about to start, people temporarily forgot what was happening and rushed to to their various places.

Yet, Kelsie didn't let go of Laura's hair.

Seeing this, Laura gritted her teeth and lashed out at her, "What are you doing? Let go of me!"

Kelsie hummed and pulled her hair even tighter, earning a painful hiss from her.

Then she leaned closer to her ears and spat out calmly, "Laura Sutton, the next time you call my children bastards, I will beat you to a pulp."

Then she released her grip on her hair and walked towards the space provided for the contestants.

Jett's dark eyes followed her in disbelief.

This thick-skinned woman. She still dared to continue acting so cockily. Who in their right senses would threaten someone in front of security men?

But this other woman…

He paused and took a closer look at Laura who was aggressively arranging her hair.

This Laura Sutton deserved getting her hair pulled. Calling children such foul names in public was uncalled for.

Her grievance was with their mother and not them, yet she still mentioned them and brought them into a fight that had nothing to do with them.

How mannerless.

It was at this moment that Eric Lance appeared beside Jett.

"Sir, there's a room upstairs for you and the other sponsors to comfortably watch the contestants."

As he walked out with Eric, Kelsie took her seat and unhurriedly surveyed the other teams. There were about 15 of them.

As she walked to their table with her teammates, Laura saw her looking around and her eyes darkened with hostility.

But it was the gone the very next second as she pulled on a bright smile and strutted towards Kelsie.

"i'm willing to put what just happened behind me and take you into my team. Once the contest begins, you won't be able to add anyone into your team nor will you be able to join any."

"If a code becomes too difficult for you to crack, there's no one to brainstorm it with. Listen to me now and do as I say."

Kelsie stared at her and chuckled, "Laura, don't you get tired of this pretense?"

Almost immediately, the bright smile on Laura's face disappeared and was replaced with a loathing one.

She lowered her eyes to the table and sneered, "You know nothing about coding, but actually dare to be here, I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels offended by it."

"You should've just accepted my offer to be on my team. That way you can make me seem like a magnanimous younger sister who cares about her dumb elder sister and carries her along every chance she get."

"But since you've rejected me so blatantly in public and humiliated me already, I'll be sure to return the favor and show your incompetence to the world."

"When I'm done with you, you'd know better than to dip into where you don't belong!"
