When Wei awoke, the world around him was still veiled in the darkness of the Abyss, but something had shifted. The oppressive cold that had once weighed on him was gone, replaced by a strange stillness, as if the Abyss itself was holding its breath.
Wei pushed himself up, his body aching from the toll of the ritual. His heart raced as he scanned the surrounding void, searching for any sign of Mei Lan. For a moment, nothing happened, and a pang of doubt crept into his chest. Had the ritual failed? Had the price been too great? He held his head in his hands as he started sobbing
"Grand…father… what do I do? I need you here now" he said as his shoulders began trembling.
