Chapter 19 - 19:Recruitment

As the foundation of a warrior, fighting spirit cultivation had been much more precious than combat skills. It boosts a person's martial prowess allowing a person to harness elemental power or enhance the force of their movements during the fight.

In the Jin region where he had been now, the most powerful noble family, the Rey family, had only had a 6-star martial art - Frozen Fighting Spirit in their hidden collection.

The higher the level of martial arts cultivated, the higher the quality of the fighting spirit.

If the fighting spirit cultivated from a 1-star martial art had been compared to a sword, then the fighting spirit cultivated from a 6-star martial art would have been like a bomb.

In terms of power, the latter had completely crushed the former. The two had been fundamentally incomparable. And each increase had brought about exponential growth in strength.

"Accept the rewards."

Roland had impatiently given the order in his heart.

The next second, Roland had felt his body sublimating.

The meridians in his body had continued to expand and strengthen.

Harder and more robust.

The efficiency of taking in Qi and converting to battle force had increased by more than ten times compared to before.

After the body transformation had been completed.

Information about the Berserk Dragon Qi technique and the breathing pattern to use this had been integrated into his brain.

According to the information, the Qi cultivated from this technique not only possessed the power of a dragon but also had a formidable destructive force that could shatter everything.

Even when cultivated to a profound realm, it had been able to enhance the physique to a level comparable to that of a lower-level dragon.

"It's too powerful!"

Recalling the information in his mind, Roland couldn't help but feel amazed.

The current breathing technique he had been currently cultivating had been a 2-star technique, which had been nothing compared to the 6-star technique.

Without hesitation, he immediately activated the technique. Converting all of his battle force Qi into the Berserk Dragon battle force that churned turning into Qi.

At the same time, he had incorporated the fifth year of Qi cultivation into his body.

Strength had surged through his body, followed by a sharp influx of pain. Muscles had bulged, and pores had started sucking the qi, converting it to battle force.

After completely digesting this fifty years of Dou Qi cultivation, Roland's knight rank had directly reached the 9th rank. Leaping from an intermediate knight to the level of a peak advanced-level Master knight in one go.

Although this level of strength hadn't been considered much in this world,it had already been quite good in the Jim Kingdom.

The strongest in the Jin Kingdom had been only a 14th-rank Legendary Knight.

If he could have gone further and broken through to the 10th rank, becoming a Transcendent Knight, he would have truly become one of the strongest in the Jin Kingdom.

By then, it would have been easy to elevate his noble title.

As long as a Transcendent Knight-level powerhouse had been willing to pledge allegiance to the king, they had automatically received the title of Count and the corresponding territory.

After digesting the rewards from this time.

With an excited heart, Roland had walked into the delivery room. At first glance, Roland had seen Janet holding the baby in her arms.

"Roland, this is a boy…! Look how cute he is!"

Janet had said with joy on her face.

"No matter how cute he is, he's not as cute as you."Roland teased his wife making her blush and had taken the baby in his arms and said with a smile.

"You always use sweet words to deceive me!"

That's what she had said, but Janet had had a sweet smile on her face.

.....

One Week Later

The towns in the surrounding areas buzzed with the recent posters plastered across every visible surface.

Baron Weiss was calling for recruits to bolster his defences against the recent surge in monster attacks. Each recruit would receive ten silver upon conscription, with special pay for Awakeners.

This was the reason set by Roan after much contemplation after all they can't just announce they want to build an army, can they.

The news spread quickly, drawing a mix of excitement and apprehension.

[At the Local Tavern]

Jeb, a grizzled veteran, leaned over the bar with a mug of ale in hand, his eyes scanning the room for his friend Hannah. "Did you catch the posters, Hannah? Baron Weiss is looking for recruits. Ten silver just for signing up, and Awakerns get extra."

Hannah, wiping down a table, raised an eyebrow as she looked up. "Sounds tempting, Jeb, but those monsters out there are no joke. I've heard Awakens are supposed to be special, but how safe can it really be?"

Jeb's face hardened with resolve. "Aye, the risk is real, but it might be worth it. Better than toiling away in the fields. If you've got the skill and a bit of luck, you could make out well."

Hannah hesitated, her concern evident in the furrow of her brow. "True, but what if they don't come back? Not many make it through those battles."

...

[At the Blacksmith's Forge]

Oren, the young blacksmith with muscles rippling under his shirt, hammered a glowing piece of metal with a fervor that belied his thoughts. He looked up as his mother, Martha, entered, concern etched on her face.

"Martha, I'm thinking of signing up. The extra silver would be a big help, and I'm itching for a change. This could be my chance."

Martha's face paled slightly as she placed a hand on her chest. "Oren, are you sure? Your father would be upset if he knew. Why risk your life for silver? You're good at what you do here."

Oren's expression was a mix of determination and excitement. "It's not just about the money. I want to prove myself. If the Baron's offer is genuine, it could be exactly what I need."

Martha's eyes filled with worry, her voice trembling. "Just be careful. I can't bear the thought of losing you to these beasts."

…..

Outside the Town Hall

Lucas, a farmer with calloused hands, examined the posters stuck to the wooden walls. He turned to his sister, Sarah, who was standing nearby with a look of concern.

"I'm thinking of joining up. The silver would help, and maybe it's a chance to get out of this monotonous farm life. What do you think?"

Sarah's face softened with worry as she clutched her shawl tighter. "It sounds risky, Lucas. With the monsters getting bolder, is it worth the danger? I don't want to see you hurt."

Lucas's eyes were determined, his voice firm. "Sometimes, you've got to take risks to find something better. I'll weigh my options carefully, but this could be a big opportunity."

Sarah's voice was pleading. "Promise me you'll be cautious. I don't want to lose you."

Discussion like this buzzed all around until the day came.
