Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: Gate 6 The Abyssal Leviathan

Kento, Rena, and Liru found themselves in a vast, cavernous space filled with dark waters that glimmered ominously under a pale, ghostly light. The atmosphere was heavy, thick with an aura of despair and dread. Suddenly, the ground trembled beneath them. A massive figure began to rise from the depths of the dark waters. The **Abyssal Leviathan** emerged, its colossal and serpentine form covered in dark scales that reflected the light like shards of obsidian. Its eyes glowed a piercing blue, and its mouth was lined with razor-sharp teeth.

"I am the Abyssal Leviathan, keeper of the final secrets of the Seven Gates!" it roared, its voice rumbling like thunder and sending vibrations through the air. "Those who enter my domain must prove their worth or be consumed by the depths!"

Kento tightened his grip on his sword, determination burning in his eyes. "We won't back down! We've come too far!"

With a swift flick of its tail, the Leviathan created massive waves that crashed toward the trio, knocking them off balance. "Watch out!" Kento shouted, leaping aside as the water surged.

"Rena, create a barrier!" Liru cried, trying to stay afloat in the chaos. Rena summoned her light magic, forming a protective dome around them just in time to deflect the wave. "We need to find a way to defeat it!"

The Leviathan laughed, a sound like grinding rocks. "Foolish mortals! You cannot hope to defeat me! The depths are my domain!"

"Liru, can you absorb some of its energy?" Kento asked, dodging another attack from the creature. "I'll try!" Liru replied, puffing up and shifting closer to the swirling waters. As it absorbed the dark energy, it glowed with an otherworldly light.

"Focus on dodging its attacks!" Rena shouted, unleashing beams of light toward the Leviathan, but they merely bounced off its tough scales. The Leviathan let out another roar and slammed its tail down, creating shockwaves that rippled through the water. Kento braced himself, narrowly avoiding being thrown off his feet.

"Rena, now!" Kento called, urging her to keep the pressure on. Together, they countered the Leviathan's attacks, but it was clear they were in for a tough battle. The Leviathan began to coil itself, preparing to strike.

As the battle wore on, the Leviathan became enraged, summoning dark tendrils from the water to ensnare Kento and Rena. The tendrils lashed out, attempting to entrap them in their grasp. "Get away!" Kento yelled, dodging to the side as a tendril whipped past him. "We need to break its focus!" Rena unleashed a wave of light, creating a path for Kento to maneuver. "I can't hold it off for long!"

Just then, the Leviathan unleashed a breath attack, a torrent of dark water infused with abyssal magic. It surged toward them, creating pools of despair on the ground that weakened their abilities. "Stay out of the pools!" Kento shouted, sprinting to avoid the onslaught.

Liru, absorbing the dark energy, transformed into a more powerful form. "I'll absorb its attacks! Just keep it busy!" With renewed strength, Kento charged at the Leviathan, using the Blade of Seven Killers to strike its tail. The creature writhed in pain but quickly countered, its massive body crashing down toward him.

With the Leviathan now at half health, it fully submerged, causing the arena to fill with dark, swirling waters. Visibility was nearly gone, and the trio struggled to stay afloat. "Keep moving!" Rena shouted, her voice barely audible above the roar of the waters. "It's trying to drag us down!"

Suddenly, the Leviathan re-emerged, launching a surprise attack from below. Kento barely managed to dodge, feeling the rush of water as the creature passed. "I can't see it!" Kento called out, panicking. Rena focused her magic, illuminating the water around them. "There! I can sense its movements!"

With Kento's sword glowing and Rena's light guiding them, they fought back against the Leviathan's attacks, but it was relentless, summoning shadowy illusions of itself to confuse them. "Stay together!" Kento yelled, rallying his friends. "We can't let it split us up!" They fought as one, each member of the trio covering for the others. Liru absorbed more dark energy, creating an aura of light that repelled the shadowy illusions.

As the Leviathan reached a desperate state, it unleashed a final fury. Dark tendrils shot from the water, attempting to ensnare Kento and Rena in a chaotic whirlwind. Kento, Rena, and Liru found themselves overwhelmed, the tendrils wrapping around them. "Focus! We need to break free!" Kento shouted, struggling against the bindings.

Rena summoned her strongest light barrier, pushing against the darkness. "Liru, now! Use everything you have!" With a powerful surge of energy, Liru released a torrent of absorbed dark energy, pushing back against the tendrils and illuminating the area with brilliant light. The Leviathan roared, its form shuddering as it struggled against the combined might of their powers.

"Together!" Kento shouted, channeling all his strength into his sword. Rena and Liru joined him, their energies intertwining into a single, devastating attack. With one final thrust, Kento drove his sword into the heart of the Leviathan, unleashing a wave of light and energy. The creature let out a deafening wail as its form shattered into fragments of darkness and light, fading into the ether.

Breathing heavily, Kento, Rena, and Liru stood victorious in the now-calm cavern. The oppressive atmosphere lifted, revealing a hidden passage leading to the final chamber. "We did it," Rena said, a mix of exhaustion and exhilaration in her voice. "Yeah, but we need to keep moving," Kento replied, looking toward the illuminated passageway. "The final gate awaits."

"Whatever is next, we'll face it together," Liru added, its form shimmering with newfound power. As they moved forward, the realization of their growth and strength filled them with renewed hope, ready to embrace whatever awaited them beyond the gate.
