"Finally back to Scovil town." I groan out. Walking towards a park with Amy and Magmar, I take a seat on a bench and bring out my phone.
'I should probably tell my parents about buying some luxury balls.'
~~~
[Me: Dad can you get a few luxury balls for my two Pokemon]
[Father: ????]
[Father: Did you end up getting the Pokemon you wanted? It better be minimum gold talent for your journey. For the Luxury balls just ask my secretary to order some.]
[Me: We are about to go see his talent soon]
[Father: Ah alright then]
[Father: Make sure to come back soon your grandparents are waiting.]
[Me: The Pokemon is a Beldum by the way! Thought it would be important to mention]
[Father: Cool]
[Me (Reply to Father: Cool): Do u even know what a Beldum is 😭]
~~~
"Hahaha." I chuckle seeing the chat with my dad.
With this I waited on the bench with Amy and Magmar for around 10 minutes before Hopkins arrived with a singular Premier Ball in his hand.
"Young James here's a Premier Ball. I thought it might suit little Beldum over here so I got another one just in case it escaped the first capture. So there's 20 Pokeballs in my storage right now I'll transfer to your backpack at Kanto."
Hearing Hopkins explain what's up. My grin starts to widen as I grab the small Premier Ball from Hopkin's hand.
To be fair though, the Premier Ball does kind of fit Beldum because of the white colour scheme. But the red doesn't, so I might customize a Luxury ball with White and gold colouring.
Not only is this because of boredom, but because I need to be able to identify which Pokemon is in which Pokeball.
I'm not omnipotent man. Not sure how these other trainers guess which Pokemon is in which Pokeball besides putting them in order.
I know for a fact that my dumbass will forget and mistakenly send out a different Pokemon rather than who I intend to.
Mid fight I'll be like who's on the third slot again?
"Okay it's time." I murmur walking up to Magmar. Taking a step closer to be next to the basket, I open the little lid and quickly tapped the Premier Ball first to expand it. Then soon after tap Beldum with it which engulfed it in a red beam and inside the Pokeball.
*Phsszszszzt*
*ring*
*ring*
*ring*
*Ding!*
"Hell yeah!" I excitedly shout seeing that I've "captured" my first Pokemon.
"Nice job young James, a worthy Pokemon for a future Champion." Hopkin comments making me clench the Premier Ball tightly.
'That's right my goal is to be the champion of Kanto.' I thought, my eyes gaining a rare moment of seriousness.
To be successful is to be ambitious.
Being on top of a whole region, is something I look forward to. Small easy steps of course is vital. The first step is champion, then the Monarch of the world.
It's not a matter of if for me.
It's a matter of when…
Now that Beldum was confirmed to be my Pokemon, I decided to head over to the Pokemon Center.
This is so I can check Beldum's potential and heal it with Growlithe at the same time.
"Okay let's head to the final stop at the Pokemon Center."
With this we walked through the streets of Scovil City quite freely. There weren't as many people roaming this place as it was 9:14 pm, thankfully the Pokemon Center is open at all times.
Not sure how Nurse Joy stays fine but oh well. I might as well diagnose her with insomnia or switching with another Nurse Joy, with the latter making more sense
We soon spotted the place and headed towards it. A thing that surprised me the most was that Pokemon Centers were basically like a motel to where you could book a room.
One of the few advantages of being a trainer.
"Young James let me handle this." Hopkins tells me as we entered the building. Looking around there were only a couple of people like someone drinking coffee by himself and another reading a news paper.
'This place seems really chill.'
I was shortly brought out of my thinking as Hopkins calls me over to the side.
"James lets get them healed up first." Hearing this I quickly made my way over and handed Nurse Joy the Pokeballs for Beldum and Growlie.
"I'll be shortly with you, it will take just a few minutes." Nurse Joy pats my head seeing my worried look. Feeling a bit weirded out by this I don't comment on it as I was a little kid anyways.
It's not like I got a noble's pride or dignity.
Sitting back down next to Hopkins, we waited for a bit.
Just like Nurse Joy promised, it didn't take that long to heal them both up as she invited us to the machine room.
"Here's your Pokeballs back." She says with a smile as I take them both. Now with them back in my possession, I first send out Growlie to see his conditions.
"Growlithe!" The excited doggo barks out as it tackled into my chest. Catching Growlie I start to tickle the guy in joy.
"Woah there calm down. How you doing buddy." I ask giving his ears some rubs. Nurse Joy seeing this giggles at the sight and sets up the first machine.
Picking up Growlie, I walk over to the scanning pad and drop him in the middle.
But the annoying little bugger ended up walking back to me with a confused head tilt.
"Lithe?"
"Not this ag-"
After a little bit of convincing Growlie stood there for a solid minute and finally got his results back.

Pokemon: Growlithe
Level: 12
Talent: Gold
Height: 75cm (2'4)
Moves: [Ember], [Leer], [Crunch], [Howl], [Flame Wheel], [Morning Sun], [Fire Spin]
(:{End}:)
"Nice Growlie." I comment with a grin. Growlie seeing my proud smirk runs circles around me, soon after picked him up in glee. "Keep up the training and we'll get into some Pokemon battles."
I doubt to be honest if Growlie could be my ace.
Maybe my future Metagross can fill that position but for marketing myself in the future that can't happen. Especially since I'm gonna make myself a champion, I need something that sets me apart from the others.
"Hmm?" Hopkins hums with a raised eye brow. Ignoring the very overworked and stressed butler I should probably give a holiday to, I send out my next Pokemon.
"Bel beldum?" The iron ball Pokemon hums out as it finally sees me for the first time. Beldum recognising it's situation through what it remembers, slowly floats directly in front of me.
"Bel dum dummm!" It hums out with a determined look. Seeing this I chuckle at its antics. "We are going to see yours stats now, I'll start your training soon with Growlie over head."
Beldum understanding my words heads over to the scanner I pointed to. With the time also being a minute for the scan, I quickly headed over to Nurse Joy.
"WHAAAAT!" Nurse Joy shouts in surprise. Soon after she blocked her mouth and swiftly apologises. "I'm so sorry, here's your paper."
Taking the stat sheet out of her hands I take a good look at Beldums stats.
(:{Full Info Results}:)
Pokemon: Beldum ✨
Level: 17
Talent: Platinum
Moves: [Tackle].
(:{End}:)
"Damn! No wonder you were surprised, this is amazing!" I shout practically dancing in joy.
"Grawr?" Growlie not understanding a thing, just joyously joins in on the fun and starts to dance with me.
He might be confused but he's got the spirit.
This went on for a little bit before we got interrupted.
"We still have two more level scans for your Pokemon." Nurse Joy says after letting me have my little moment. Nodding at her words I tell Beldum to float next to me as Growlithe gets his second scan.
~{]Level Scanner[}~
Pokemon: Growlithe
Level: 12
Nature: Jolly
Health Rating: 8/10
Nature: Jolly
Attack: 26
Defence: 21
Special Attack: 25
Special Defence: 19
Speed: 24
~{]End[}~
There has certainly been some improvement and I will keep this paper with his other document to keep a record.
The most basic way to measure training progress is level x 2. Usually a Pokemon would have more if it trains a statistic, lots of specialised food being healthy, or have less or more in a stat depending on its species.
So the base of all level 5 pokemon are 10, while it could be less or over depending on the Pokemon.
Like growlithe's attack stat at level 10 would be around the 22-26 mark without training.
While a Pokemon like Crainidos would have 50-70 base depending if it's trained that attack stat.
But evolution does play a different into these like how base stat totals work in the games. The overall stats gained each level is increased.
"Okay return Growlie."
Holding up Growlie's Pokeball, I tap the white button. With this a red beam escaped the Pokeball and surrounded the puppy who woofed a goodbye back.
"It's your turn now Beldum."
Beldum already knowing what to do, diligently floats up to the level scanner and stays there for a solid minute like before.
"Okay here's the stat sheet." Nurse Joy says as she hands me the paper. Taking a look at the papers with no idea if it's good or not, I just compare them to Growlithe's.
~{]Level Scanner[}~
Pokemon: Beldum ✨
Level: 17
Nature: Serious
Health Rating: 4/10
Attack: 26
Defence: 44
Special Attack: 20
Special Defence: 41
Speed: 19
~{]End[}~
As expected both his defences are quite amazing with 44 and 41 for both stats.
When he evolves into a Metang is when stuff really starts to piece together as I can teach him some TM moves.
If I can't buy the best Pokemon with money, I'll just use my canon knowledge to find them. Pretty simple thinking really. Even without star pieces I could mould a minimum of an elite four squad with just my knowledge.
Though, only time will tell...
But his stats aren't his defensive stats too high? Well it's not like I know how to train the Beldum line as normal training won't suffice. They feed on metals but can still consume Pokemon food, which makes it hard to determine what's needed.
Maybe those metals give extra boosts of strength.
Prior research didn't help at all because why would anyone release public information of such a beastly species. Even then the people who have owned one are probably keeping such things a secret.
'But there is one person I know, not personally though.' I thought thinking of a way to get that man as a friend.
With this all done and dusted I headed back to the hotel to have a good nights rest.
And so Hopkins can finally relax…
[}•———•{]
"Hello!!" I shout with a large smile as I walked through a stony path but flat path.
In front of me were my grand parents who were Nanny and Pop-pop. The both of them who usually only have a few servants and were sort of themselves, kept the "house" tidy and took care of Pokemon.
By house I meant A WHOLE CASTLE.
A full on medieval styled castle which had towers, a large gate and multiple personal probably assigned by my parents to help around. The two coming from humble beginnings didn't want to laze around so they became sort of keepers for this holiday... castle?
Using references from my memories and in the anime they are really caring people.
The orginal James' most trusted people.
"Jamsie." Nanny sweetly says with a warm expression. Pop-pop who was next to her exuded the same warmth and waved cheerfully. Soon after they both reach their hand out expecting me to jump into their hands.
Not wanting to disappoint, I leave my butler's side and jump into their embraces. My parents who were back in Kanto, let me stay over for a while.
"Lets talk more inside, I've got something to show you guys!"
Leaving the hug I take out my diary.
'This can be saved for another time.'
