A beautiful figure approached their table, radiating a magnetic charisma that commanded attention.
She wore an extravagant dress that shimmered with every step, accentuating her elegance and the undeniable star factor she possessed.
Her long, flowing hair cascaded down her back, framing a face that seemed to glow with an inner light. As she drew closer, the atmosphere shifted; even the air felt electric with her presence.
The restaurant's patrons gasped in unison, their heads turning in her direction.
"Is that Kass?"
"I can't believe she's here!"
"I love her songs especially 'that night'"
Whispers spread like wildfire, awe filling the air as they exchanged starstruck glances.
Cameras snapped, and phones were raised as people captured the moment of a celebrity gracing their presence.
Lea and Kris exchanged glances, their expressions questioning whether either of them recognized the stunning woman.
A flicker of realization crossed Kris's face—it was the celebrity they had seen entering the hotel lobby earlier.
Kass reached their table, her bright eyes narrowing playfully.
"Cousin, why didn't you greet me in the entrance a while ago?" she asked,
a hint of annoyance lacing her tone as she pouted adorably, contrasting her powerful charisma and making her all the more amazing.
Earlier, Kass had been in the lobby thinking about the boy she saw at the entrance a while ago, so she inquired with a hotel staff member about the boy with the orange hair.
When they pointed her to the restaurant section, she was surprised to find her cousin Kris and a girl sipping from each other's glasses like a couple.
She could hardly believe her eyes.
The moody boy she once knew had transformed before her—this Kris, exuded an air of confidence that was unrecognizable, a complete 360-degree change.
Lea and Kris exchanged bewildered looks again, both whispering,
"Cousin?" as if trying to process the unexpected family connection.
Kris, assuming that she was referring to Lea, reached out a hand towards Kass.
"Thank you for paying for our meals. I was supposed to be the one paying, but you got me there first," he said sincerely.
Kass blinked, caught off guard by Kris's formal gesture.
"You're my cousin, dumbass! Why would you be so formal with me?" She shook her head, as if she heard the most stupid thing.
"And it's our family's hotel—why would we be paying?"
Kris remained puzzled, the reality of their connection still settling in. "May I know who you are?" he asked, genuinely curious about the glamorous cousin he barely knew.
Kass frowned, her playful demeanor shifting to a mixture of disbelief and irritation.
"Aren't you Kris? It's me, Kassandra Blazewood!"
Kris remained lost in thought, trying to piece together the sudden appearance of his glamorous cousin.
"I'm sorry," he finally said, his voice tinged with confusion.
"Something happened to me a while ago, so I don't really remember who you are."
Kass' eyes widened as realization dawned on her.
She had heard whispers about Kris' accident from her parents just days ago but hadn't grasped the severity of it.
"Wait... So it was true, about you having an accident a week ago?"
Lea, now fully connecting the dots, interjected,
"In the morning, the principal told us that someone in my class had an accident resulting in amnesia. Was that you?"
Kris nodded. "Yes, it was me."
Kass' gaze remained fixed on him, curiosity mixed with concern.
She thought about how her aunt and uncle must have wanted to keep the Blazewood family from panicking over the news of Kris' condition.
Then, her expression shifted as she turned her attention to Lea, narrowing her eyes in suspicion.
"You must be his girlfriend, right?"
"He just had amnesia. Don't tell me you're taking advantage of my younger cousin because of his wealth!"
Kass' skepticism, sharp and pointed.
Lea's face flushed with panic as she stammered, "Nonono, I—"
Before she could finish, Kris interjected, his tone monotone and dismissive,
"I owe her lunch, and she's not my girlfriend. She's actually my teacher."
Lea looked at Kris with appreciation, grateful that he had spoken up for her.
Initially, she had entertained thoughts of taking advantage of Kris, assuming he was just another playboy, a wealthy second-generation kid who squandered money for women.
But after spending time with him, she realized he was a gentleman—genuinely caring and uninterested in wealth.
Lea, still reeling from the revelation, stared at Kris in disbelief.
"You're telling me you're a member of the Blazewood family? That explains a lot."
A mixture of surprise and admiration colored her expression, and in that moment, Kris just acknowledge it like it was nothing important.
Kass then pulled out a chair and sat down with them at the table, her expression softening as they began discussing Kris's well-being.
"So, how are you feeling? Really, what happened during the accident?" she asked, concern etched on her face.
Lea, eager to know more, leaned in as well.
"Yeah, I heard it was serious. Are you okay now?"
Before Kris could respond, a sudden ringing sound erupted from his pocket, cutting through the conversation.
He fished out his phone, noticing the caller ID—it was Necho.
Kris answered the call, and Necho's voice came through, slightly exasperated.
"Where are you? Class is about to start!"
Kris quickly replied,
"I'm on my way."
Necho's tone shifted, becoming slightly frantic. "Hurry! Don't leave me alone here with this annoying guy!"
From the background, Thursday's voice chimed in, "Kris, you better hurry! The next class is Data Beast! The teacher tell us about the evaluation tomorrow!"
Kris sighed, thanking them both before hanging up the phone.
He looked at Lea,
"We better get going," he said, standing up.
He turned to Kass, adding,
"Thanks for paying for our meal."
Kass shook her head with a playful grin.
"As I said, it's our family's business. You could just say your name next time, and they'll provide you a VIP experience."
Kris nodded, acknowledging her point.
"Yeah, we'll get going now."
Kass offered,
"Let my bodyguard drive you back to school."
Kris quickly countered,
"No thanks, Teacher Lea drove me here."
Kass stared at Lea in disbelief, trying to wrap her mind around the fact that this young woman was Kris's teacher.
'You're telling me this child-like person is a teacher?'
Feeling Kass' gaze, Lea puffed her chest in indignation.
"I'm 19 already, okay! I graduated early, that's why I'm a teacher!" She huffed, slightly annoyed at the constant underestimation of her age and appearance.
'Only Kris seems to treat me like an adult.'
Kass shrugged, gesturing for them to leave.
"You should go. You don't want to be late. And Kris, I'll come to your house later. I want to hear the full story."
Kris nodded in agreement, and they headed out of the restaurant, making their way back to school.
…
Kris slid the door open and stepped inside, the atmosphere shifted.
His classmates looked up at him, their reactions varied—some with kind and curious gazes, others with malicious stares, like Adam, and fear from Miguel.
In the middle of the classroom stood a tall Arab man, his skin a bronze hue that glistened under the fluorescent lights.
His hair was dark and thick, and his eyebrows were sharply defined, giving him an imposing presence. He surveyed the room with a piercing gaze before locking eyes with Kris.
"Sit down in your seat,"
he instructed firmly, his voice carrying a strict tone laced with a unique deep accent that commanded attention.
Kris nodded slightly, moving to his desk as he complied.
Once seated, he leaned over to Necho.
"What did I miss?"
Necho shrugged, whispering back,
"We just started."
Kris then turned his focus to the front of the class. The teacher introduced himself, his voice resonating through the room.
"I am Mr. Ahmed Batubara, and I will be teaching you about Data Beasts."
As he spoke, Mr. Ahmed's eyes seemed to lock onto Kris, as if his words were specifically intended for him. Kris nodded, understanding that he was also informed about his incident like the other teachers.
Mr. Ahmed continued,
"Today, I will be asking everyone to fill out papers regarding the Data Beast evaluation tomorrow. I also want to know how many of you have already acquired your Data Beasts."
With a wave of his hand, papers flew effortlessly from his desk, gliding through the air and landing on each student's table with precision.
Kris's eyes widened in surprise at the display of control and magic.
He quickly glanced at Mr. Ahmed, and to his astonishment, he noticed a snake camouflaged against the teacher's shoulder, its scales shimmering subtly, blending seamlessly with his skin.
"Genesis Scan,"
Kris thought, activating genesis. The screen flickered to life, processing the image before presenting the information.
