Kris blinked, startled by the glowing text hovering in front of him. His first instinct was disbelief.
"A system?" he muttered, reaching out instinctively to touch the holographic window, but his hand passed right through it.
"Genesis… What does that even mean?" His voice was a soft murmur, but curiosity surged through him.
Suddenly, a new message appeared:
"Do you accept the responsibility of the Genesis host? Y/N"
A choice. Kris felt his heart race. He had barely come to terms with being in this new world, let alone becoming the "host" of something called Genesis.
He glanced at the picture of the old Kris with his parents. The goals on the sticky note played through his mind—dreams that felt so normal, so human. Could this system be the key to fulfilling those hopes?
Kris hesitated, then said, "I will embraced this new life as you, Kris Blazewood, and I'm thankful for the chance to carry on your dreams. I promise to do everything in my power to achieve them."
With a deep breath, he tapped 'Y'.
"Genesis activated. Initiating synchronization."
Kris felt a pulse in his mind, an influx of energy connecting him to something deeper. Memories flashed—some his, some unfamiliar. He gripped the desk as the sensations overwhelmed him.
"Whoa," he gasped, trying to regain his balance. This felt just like those anime shows he used to watch in camp, where characters received incredible powers from a mysterious system. "This is insane!"
The window reappeared:
"System Synchronization Complete. Achievement system initialized. Evolution system ready for activation. Data Beast bond detected."
Kris stood, dazed. "Data Beast bond? Achievement system? What am I, a main character of an anime?"
"I am Genesis, my purpose is to assist the host on their journey," Genesis responded. "I will guide your evolution and help you achieve your dreams."
Kris's brow furrowed in confusion. "Wait, are you saying like your one of those Stat windows?"
"Yes, but I can do more than that, Host. With me here you can access full information about any Data Beast you scan or interact with. The system and the Data Beasts are now interconnected, giving you insights that go beyond mere statistics."
Kris blinked, trying to process it all. "So I can see everything about these creatures? Just like in those shows?"
"Correct," Genesis replied. "The bond enhances your ability to understand and evolve Data Beasts."
Kris furrowed his brow, recalling the earlier moment when he scanned Pyro Cub. "Wait a second. Was it you who showed me those additional notes about weaknesses and strengths when I checked the Data Beast info earlier?"
"Host level does not have access to that information," Genesis replied, its tone unyielding.
Kris sighed, feeling a mix of frustration and intrigue. "So you can't tell me why those notes appeared? Is there more to this system than you're letting on?"
"My role is to assist you. The reasons behind certain functions are beyond your current level of understanding," Genesis explained.
"Great, just great," Kris muttered and a bit annoyed. "So I have a system that can help me with Data Beasts, but I don't get the full Premium version of it?"
"Correct. Your System will gradually upgrade more as you progress," Genesis reassured him.
Kris took a deep breath, shaking off his annoyance. "Alright, let's focus on what I can do now. Show me Pyro Cub's stats."
In an instant, Pyro Cub's profile appeared on the screen, detailing its abilities and potential. Kris studied the information closely, determined to make the most of the information.

"To improve Pyro Cub's potential, you must engage in battles, train consistently, and bond with it through various activities," Genesis replied. "The stronger the bond and the more experiences Pyro Cub gains, the higher its potential will rise."
Kris listened intently, absorbing every detail. His gaze drifted back to the glowing screen, lingering on the special evolution option.
"What's this about?" Kris asked, pointing at the line. "If I click it, will more information appear?"
"Clicking it will unveil the details of Pyro Cub's special evolution chain," Genesis explained. "You'll see information about Pyro Cub's potential evolutions, but keep in mind that unlocking them will require meeting specific conditions."
Kris felt a surge of excitement. "Genesis, can you unlock the special evolution for Pyro Cub?"

With a nod, Kris urged, "Yes, do it!"
