Chapter 89 - [89] Nuclear-Free Era

As the nuclear bombs were launched, the world was plunged into panic.

Just when people across the globe believed the end of the world was inevitable, a gentle voice echoed in their minds.

—"Friends of the world, I am Professor X. Please don't panic; these nuclear bombs are flying to outer space."—

Through Professor X's global mental transmission, the fear and hysteria that had gripped humanity began to subside.

People, who had been paralyzed by terror, slowly stepped out of their homes and looked up at the sky.

Just as Professor X had said, the densely packed nuclear bombs in the sky showed no signs of descending.

Instead, they soared steadily upward toward the heavens.

All the nations of the world closely monitored the flight trajectories of the nuclear bombs.

When it was confirmed that the warheads had indeed flown into outer space, the heads of state from every country convened press conferences to announce the resolution of the nuclear bomb crisis.

With gratitude, they acknowledged the crucial role of the superhero team, the X-Men, in averting global catastrophe.

The world erupted in celebration.

Everyone now understood that the nuclear explosion crisis had been resolved.

And it was undeniable that the resolution of this crisis was thanks to the X-Men.

"X-Men, the saviors of humanity."

"X-Men, the true and deserving superheroes."

For a time, people around the world began singing praises of the X-Men.

They regarded the X-Men as the saviors of mankind.

The messiahs.

True and well-deserved superheroes.

People all over the world worshipped the X-Men.

At this moment, the X-Men were elevated to a near-mythical status.

They were no longer just America's superheroes; they had become the superheroes of all humanity—on par with comic figures like Superman.

One hour after the nuclear crisis was resolved, countless news stories about the X-Men spread across the globe like wildfire.

Meanwhile, in front of the White House Square,

The American President, Raven, was delivering a speech.

"Ladies and gentlemen, with the help of the X-Men, we successfully dismantled Black King Shaw's plot to nuke the entire world.

We have achieved a historic victory!

It is now clear that the X-Men are the saviors of mankind!

They saved the world!

They saved billions of lives!

They are the guardian angels of humanity!"

Raven praised the X-Men generously, even going as far as to define them as the guardian angels of mankind—The messengers of God.

After a round of praise, Raven smiled brightly.

She continued:

"Now, let us solemnly welcome the saviors of mankind, the superhero group of seven—the greatest mutants—the X-Men."

As Raven spoke, the X-Men slowly descended from the sky, supported by Brian's psychokinesis.

Once again, Brian landed flawlessly, striking a perfect superhero pose.

The sight of the X-Men descending from the sky caused the dense crowd gathered in front of the White House to erupt in screams.

"X-Men, saviors!"

"The greatest mutants in the world!"

"God, you saved the world—you saved us!"

Cheers and screams echoed through the crowd, bringing smiles to the faces of all the X-Men.

Some young girls, overcome with excitement, even broke through the barricades.

They rushed directly toward the three giants of the X-Men: Professor X, Magneto, and Homelander.

Following the resolution of the nuclear crisis, the popularity of the X-Men reached unprecedented heights.

People across the globe began to regard the X-Men as symbols of faith.

The X-Men represented justice.

"My heart and my actions are as clear as a mirror.

Everything I do is justice."

Standing beside Raven, Professor X was moved by the fervent atmosphere and couldn't help but say these words.

"Professor X, our savior!"

The crowd erupted into cheers in response to Professor X's words.

He looked out at the ecstatic crowd, a gentle and kind smile gracing his face.

"I'm glad that we, the X-Men, could save the world.

This is both our duty and our obligation.

As superheroes, we will do everything in our power to protect humanity—To shield it from evil and the tyranny of the powerful Black King Shaw.

We strive to ensure that humans can live in a peaceful, stable, and just world."

Unintentionally, Professor X began to embrace his role as a superhero.

His calm and kind demeanor instantly won him even more admirers.

After he finished speaking, Brian stepped up to the podium.

He stood there quietly, his gaze sweeping over the slightly frenzied crowd in front of him.

Under his steady, commanding gaze, the crowd gradually fell silent.

"Welcome to the new world created by the X-Men—A nuclear-free era!!"

Brian declared, opening his arms as if to embrace the entire world.

"WooooooAAAAAAAAAhhhhhhh."

With that one statement, Brian ignited the entire gathering.

At that moment, both the humans standing in front of the White House and those watching around the globe realized one thing:

The world had entered a new chapter.

A nuclear-free era.

During this nuclear explosion crisis, the X-Men sent all the world's nuclear arsenals into outer space.

From that moment on, the era of nuclear deterrence among superpowers came to an end.

All nations would now focus on rapid development,

And the world was finally moving toward peace.

"X-Men, X-Men!"

People couldn't help but cheer enthusiastically.

Having faced the terrifying possibility of a nuclear explosion, humanity's fear of nuclear weapons had reached its peak.

Now, learning that the world had officially entered a nuclear-free era, humanity was once again filled with immense gratitude toward the X-Men.

"We will use the most powerful force to defeat Sabastian Shaw and crush all his conspiracies," Brian declared.

After his speech, Magneto also stepped forward to speak.

His words were strong and persuasive, winning him his own group of fanatical admirers.

The entire press conference lasted for two hours, and even Cyclops, who had only recently joined the team, managed to gain a group of fans.

After the press conference, the X-Men returned to Xavier Manor.

"Let's hold a celebration party,"

Professor X suggested, feeling a bit proud of their accomplishment in saving the world.

He retrieved a few bottles of rare 18th-century red wine from his wine cellar,

And they began their celebration.

"For the saviors of mankind, the embodiment of justice, and the messengers of God. The greatest mutants. Hahaha! Cheers!"

Professor X raised his glass of red wine, his face radiating high spirits.

Even Magneto, often stoic, raised his glass and drank with a rare, sunny smile.

The rest of the team—Hank Alex Summers, Sean Cassidy, and the newcomer Cyclops took bottles of red wine and began drinking enthusiastically, caught up in the celebratory mood.

Only Brian and Raven refrained from joining the party.

The two sat quietly on a sofa in the living room, watching Professor X and the others with a hint of pity.

"When will Charles and the others grow up?"

Raven said with a touch of regret in her voice.

"Raven, let them celebrate for now. This may be their only celebration," Brian replied with a shrug.

Then, he leaned over, picked Raven up, and smiled.

"Now, we should celebrate too," He said with a playful grin.

With that, the two of them left the living room and headed to the bedroom.
