Chapter 27 - Chapter 26

A couple of years had flown by. The world continued to spin on its axis, moving forward in its ceaseless orbit.

During those two years, that small, peaceful state of USA had faced a wave of terror. Delaware was no longer the safe haven it used to be. The tranquil state had been transformed into a place where danger lurked in every shadow.

Those who lived alone or had no relatives to rely on were particularly vulnerable to the unknown danger that had taken over their homes and lives.

The fear had also found its way into the hearts of those who once felt safe on the streets. Women, in particular, felt a visceral sense of uneasiness.

They used to walk the streets alone without fear even in the dead of night. Unfortunately now, they lived in constant dread. Their eyes darting from one shadow to the next, their hands clutched tightly around pepper sprays and small knives.

For three months, it seemed as if the terror had simply vanished, as if whatever darkness had plagued the state for months had fade away without a trace. The news channels didn't report any further disappearances or strange occurrences.

People began to slowly relax, to let themselves hope that the nightmare had finally ended. The tension slowly dissipated as each day passed without a hint of the danger that had terrorized their state.

They began to venture out into the streets and public places once again, to leave their children alone in their homes and their doors unlocked at night.

Life returned to a sense of normalcy, as if the nightmarish ordeal had been nothing more than a collective hallucination.

Does it mean the criminal had been finally captured ? Was he finally in jail after two years he had taken the life of innocent young women ?

Unfortunately, the answer is no. The fact that the terror had suddenly faded and no new victims were discovered didn't necessarily mean that the criminal had miraculously been caught. Instead, it hinted at something more sinister.

The perpetrator behind the string of killings, was still living among the society, enjoying the same freedoms as everyone else.

Marshall had become more cautious than ever before, covering his tracks with such precision that it seemed as if he had become invisible.

Slim Shady wasn't just a criminal. He was a twisted mind, a sinister force that thrived on fear and despair. He was a master of deception and manipulation, his mind always several steps ahead.

He had deliberately given them three months of peace just to see them relax, to see them let their guards down. It was all a game to him, a sadistic way to toy with their hopes before tearing them apart once again.

He had allowed them to think they were safe, all so he could strike with even more brutality when they least expected it. It was his twisted way of having control, to prove that he was always one step ahead of the authorities, and always in charge.

And now, after three months of peace, he was ready to strike again, to watch the fear and despair reign amongst the citizens of Delaware once more.

______________My Darling _______________

Now, let's delve into the case of Marshall's main prey, the stunning blonde Emily. He had carefully chosen her as his target, drawn to her beauty, innocence and her will to not give in at him the first time.

From the moment they met, he had set his plan in motion, slowly chipping away at her trust and her emotions. He had manipulated her, exploited her vulnerabilities, all the while keeping his true intentions hidden behind a façade of kindness and affection.

He had lured her into a false sense of security with the pretense of a relationship just to slowly destroy her from within, to systematically break her mentally and emotionally.

Had Marshall finally initiated his sinister plan?

Had he finally set his devastating plan in motion against her?

Had he finally achieved his goal with her?
