Chapter 1 - Machiavellian

In a workroom, Damian ended a call with a small laugh.

"It's so easy to selling this glowing ass garbage to bunch of woman."

Another skincare product successfully sold. To him, being a telemarketer was just a game, and every customer was a challenge he never failed to conquer. Damian's mind started mocking,

"No wonder they're the target of capitalists!"

"Make your face glowing?"

"Make your skin more clearer?"

"More stunning?"

"More than what? More than your assholes?"

"Hahahhaha....."

"I don't even know what chemicals are in that nonsense white bottles hahahha...."

"It's like just water and random chemicals to me..."

Regardless of the product sold, Damian only cared about how effective he could manipulate others into buying.

Skincare, insurance, or whatever, they're all the same in his eyes—tools to test his cunning.

He glanced at the next call list, still long, but no sense of fatigue in him. Sipping his coffee, Damian smiled contently. Every time he closed a deal, it felt like a small victory that bolstered his ego.

It wasn't about the commission, it was about the ability to control others' minds with words. After his telemarketing work, Damian returned to his apartment.

Damian sighed and looked at the successful sales report,

"Damn.. garbage sell!"

Damian exclaimed with a grin.

Slowly, he walked to get a drink. Then he walked back to a desk with a PC that belonged to Damian.

Damian stood in front of the desk, his hand holding a full glass of water, his eyes fixed on a novel detailing the glory and struggle of a hero party.

"Naive MC, peep talks a lot, and more stupid side character."

Damian picked up the novel,

"Just halfway through, I lost my interest in this crap-."

DEGGGHH...

Damian's heart raced and then stopped, his eyes widening, his body unable to move.

The novel floated and stopped in front of Damian's face, the pages of the novel repeatedly opened, until,

"What the heck?"

Damian could only watch the strange event unfolding before him.

The first page that started the story in the novel was open, light shining, and from the edge of the light emerged black smoke wisps.

Damian's body trembled, the black smoke began to form a spiral,

"Crap what the..."

The spiral smoke sucked Damian's body in,

CRASH....

The glass still full of water fell and shattered.

The world felt strange when Damian opened his eyes. He didn't immediately realize where he was—a grand room ceiling with ancient, elaborate ornaments decorating the room as if from a bygone era yet familiar.

Everything felt different, but strangely close to his memory. Slowly, he rose from the thick velvet-covered large bed. The cool air brushed his skin, and his eyes focused on a large mirror in the corner of the room.

The reflection bouncing back wasn't his own, not the body he had known all his life.

"This..." Damian fell silent, his voice soft and almost inaudible.

The unfamiliar hand touched a face he didn't recognize, the face of an eighteen-year-old, handsome youth with dark brown hair and sharp blue eyes.

Yet, beneath that face, Damian could sense a different life pulse, as if he wasn't himself anymore—he was someone else.

"Joseph Ormond..." the name flashed in his mind like a lightning bolt, followed by a series of memories that weren't his own.

Clear yet distorted memories. A minor noble family living under the shadow of a larger family's power.

A young man who had never been the focal point, just a background character in a much larger drama. And there Damian realized the startling truth.

"I, I'm that side character!?" Damian was in Joseph Ormond's body, a side character from a novel he had read halfway through.

A fantasy novel with a strong protagonist saving the world, while Joseph was just an unimportant pawn, dying amidst political intrigue and noble family warfare.

Damian smirked thinly.

"I am a pawn now? That's cool."

Damian may not be the protagonist, but in a world full of power games, even pawns can be kings—if they know how to play. Old Damian was just a modern guy who could only play as a salesperson, but now everything had changed.

With the knowledge of half the storyline and the cunning instinct growing within him, he realized this world was the perfect stage.

No more boundaries. No more moral rules binding him. It was all about power. When the door to his room was knocked, a servant entered with a worried expression.

"Young master Joseph, are you okay? You've looked unwell since yesterday."

Damian turned, observing the servant with cold eyes Joseph Ormond had never possessed before.

The servant recoiled momentarily, as if sensing something different about his master.

However, Damian quickly flashed a thin smile, playing the part.

"I'm fine. Thank you for your concern," Damian replied softly. He needed to be cautious—at least for now.

There was no point in drawing attention too quickly. The servant nodded and quickly left the room, leaving Damian alone.

Once the door closed, Damian's smile disappeared, replaced by a serious expression more suited to his current situation.

"I don't know what happened to me, but this is gonna be fun!"

He walked to the large window, looking out at the Ormond family estate.

This family meant nothing compared to the greater powers in this world. Just a small pawn among the grand nobility full of intrigue and ambition.

But to Damian, this insignificant pawn was a piece he could move to achieve power.

Joseph Ormond. A name that would be forgotten by history if he didn't do something.

In the original story, he would die quickly, killed in a civil war waged by the powerful family he and his own allied with.

But now, with knowledge of the future, he had an invaluable opportunity.

"Let's handle that stupid death first!"

Damian muttered. A plan started forming in his mind.

With a determined step, Damian began walking towards the door.

The world might see him as a side character, but behind it all, he would be a figure who turned the facts upside down.

The Machiavellian Extra.

He would manipulate, lie, and if necessary, sacrifice anyone to achieve his goals. In this world, everything had value, and he would ensure that every action, every decision, benefited him. The first step?

Regaining control of his family.

He needed to make his family believe he was the true heir, a person who could lead them to the pinnacle of power.

And then? Climbing up the social hierarchy, taking over the small factions, and slowly dismantling anyone who stood in his way.

Damian's smile turned cold.

"Hero's party?"

"I can't wait to meet them hahah...."

"They're gonna be so useful!"

In the original story, Joseph Ormond was just a side character, who will never be better. But now, not only will he be better, Joseph Ormond will be the puppet master.
