Chapter 10 - Rampage of the Red Dragon

However, when he passed through the Santalune Mountain Range, he didn't know what had suddenly driven the 3rd Demon King in the mountains mad, but an iron pillar had been hurled into the sky from the ground. If he hadn't nimbly dodged it, he might have ended up roasted on the spot.

With Fatalis's temperament, how could he endure that? He immediately descended into the mountains and found the opponent to engage in a proper battle.

If he hadn't been discovered by the Holy Knights that were stationed at the Santalune Mountain Range after the fight spilled out of the mountains, it's likely that the battle wouldn't have ended so soon.

But by the time he reached the Malgorath Region, he heard that the coalition of elves, humans, giants, and dwarves had already killed the new demon king before a hundred thousand demonic beasts.

In other words, Fatalis had flown for over a month with great difficulty, only to arrive at the battlefield where the demon-slaying war had already been over.

So what was he even here for? How would he explain to the elders when he returned?

Feeling unsatisfied, Fatalis decided to personally take a trip to the Black Forest. Even if there was no new demon king for him to fight, he could at least kill some demonic beasts to vent his frustration.

Thinking this, Fatalis flew near the Black Forest, and as soon as he approached, he sensed an unusually strong and distinct demonic aura.

This aura was too powerful and unique, immediately reminding him of the prophecy about the new demon king soon to be born. But… the news from the coalition of the four races was real, so who could this be in the Black Forest now?

Fatalis was confused, but at the same time, suspicion grew in his heart. Regardless of who was exuding this aura, such a powerful demon or demonic creature needed to be destroyed.

With this thought, he tracked the faint, intermittent demonic aura into the Black Forest. Just as he was about to close in, the aura suddenly disappeared. Enraged, Fatalis roared and circled in the sky, waiting for several minutes, but the aura did not reappear.

He had been so close to catching it, and now it vanished right before his eyes. Fatalis felt deeply frustrated. The Black Forest was home to millions of demonic creatures, and identifying that one specific aura among all these dark forces would be incredibly difficult. Moreover, the demonic aura had disappeared so cleanly, leaving no trace for him to follow.

He had come expecting a feast, only to have the "meal" vanish just as his mouth was open!

How could he stand this?

Furious, Fatalis circled the sky above the Black Forest twice. Burning with rage, he lowered his altitude, flying just above the treetops. As he flew, he stirred up a violent windstorm. Eventually, he opened his mouth and began spewing flames, burning long fiery paths through the forest as if painting lines on a green canvas.

Countless demonic creatures and animals were caught in the blaze, screaming in terror as they fled in all directions.

Kael had barely finished his warning when he started digging a pit, and not even half a minute later, Ronan, who had just regained his footing, noticed that Kael had buried himself in the muddy soil beneath a pond.

Ronan: "..."

The dragon in the sky had gone mad, creating gusts of wind and flames everywhere. Ronan could hear the cries of animals and demonic creatures all around him, fleeing past his position.

Ronan, however, didn't run. Mainly because it was pointless— the dragon was flying completely erratically, and if he ran in the wrong direction, he might end up face-to-face with it.

But staying under the trees was also dangerous. The dragon was flying too low, and if it noticed him, he could be burned to death on the spot.

Ronan looked around, then finally flew into a bush that was a little over a person's height to hide. As soon as he got in, he discovered another "unfortunate companion" already lying there—a brownish-yellow wild dog, trembling uncontrollably with fear.

Using the method Kael had just taught him, Ronan took a closer "look" at the wild dog and quickly confirmed that it was a demonic beast dog. Unlike an ordinary wild dog, this one had a faint demonic aura surrounding it.

"Roooar!"

About a hundred meters away, a black demonic creature was hit by a tongue of flame and sent flying, its cry quickly catching the attention of the dragon a thousand meters away.

Ronan sighed. Just when it seemed like the dragon, after a rampage, had flown off toward another area, it suddenly turned around. In an instant, the dragon's claw was right in front of him.

This western dragon, clad in red scales, tilted its head and struck, grabbing the fleeing demonic creature with its claws. It was so close that Ronan who is hiding in the bushes, clearly saw the dragon's massive foot with four sharp talons, hooked like eagle claws, pierce through the demon's body. Blood poured from the air as the demonic creature let out an ear-piercing scream in its final moments.

After killing the demonic creature, the dragon swung its tail and spread its wings, he spewing the flames that were directly swept over the pond where Kael was hiding.

The already shallow water in the pond evaporated instantly from the fire, exposing the black mud at the bottom.

The powerful wind almost uprooted the bush where Ronan was hiding from the dragon's wings. The demon dog who was lying beside him suddenly stiffened, its legs kicking out straight—it had died of fright.

Fortunately, after capturing the fleeing demonic creatures, the red dragon soared back into the sky, tearing the creature apart mid-air and triumphantly scattering the remains.

The wind from the dragon's wings was so strong that Ronan's body was swept sideways, and in the next moment, he suddenly lost consciousness.
