Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: Silent Retribution

Dave stood outside the office building where his mother worked, staring up at the dull glow of the lights shining through the windows. The weight of what he was about to do bore down on him, but his mind was made up. The images of his mother's suffering replayed in his mind over and over again, each one fueling his determination to end the cruelty she'd been subjected to. He had to make sure that man paid the price for what he had done. There was no turning back now.

Taking a deep breath, he slipped on the AI watch, its screen lighting up in response to his presence. "Bella, activate stealth mode," he whispered, his voice firm and unwavering.

"Stealth mode activated, Dave," Bella responded smoothly, her voice calm and composed. "I will ensure all cameras are temporarily disabled, and any footage will be erased. You will not appear on any recording devices."

With a nod of acknowledgment, Dave pushed open the glass doors and entered the building, his footsteps silent on the polished marble floor as he made his way up to the top floor. The entire building seemed deserted, each door he passed remaining tightly shut. It was late at night, and only a few security lights illuminated the otherwise dark and empty space. His pulse quickened as he approached the office door, adrenaline coursing through his veins like wildfire. He knew who was waiting behind that door. His mother's boss—no, her tormentor—was inside, alone, just as Bella had informed him.

Taking another deep breath to steady himself, he gently pushed the door open, the hinges creaking softly in the stillness of the night. There, sitting at his desk under the harsh fluorescent lights, was the man who had dared to violate his mother's trust and dignity. The boss seemed preoccupied, staring at some documents spread out before him, completely oblivious to the fact that he was no longer alone in the room.

Dave's heart pounded furiously as he glanced around, his gaze settling on various objects in the office. The rage he felt was nearly overwhelming, but he forced himself to remain calm. This wasn't just about anger—it was about justice. He couldn't allow his emotions to cloud his judgment. His eyes fell upon a heavy, cast-iron pan that rested on a shelf nearby. It seemed absurd, almost laughable, but in that moment, it was perfect.

'No hesitation,' Dave thought, his jaw clenching as he tightened his grip around the pan's handle. 'He doesn't deserve a moment of mercy.'

Without uttering a single word, Dave moved swiftly and silently across the room, grabbing the pan with his right hand. In one fluid motion, he swung it with all his strength, aiming for the back of the man's head. The boss barely had time to look up, confusion flickering across his face for the briefest of moments before the pan connected with a sickening thud.

The impact was tremendous. The force of the blow sent the man's head crashing forward into the desk before rebounding back, leaving him sprawled awkwardly in his chair. Blood began to pool where the pan had struck, the dark crimson liquid soaking into the papers on his desk. The man was motionless, his life extinguished in an instant. The force of Dave's strike had sent the pan straight through the man's skull, embedding it into the wall behind him with a dull, metallic clang.

Dave's breath came in ragged gasps, his chest heaving with the intensity of the act he'd just committed. He stared at the scene before him, a mixture of satisfaction and cold fury swirling within him. This man, who had tormented his mother, would never hurt anyone again. He was a stain that had been erased from the world, a plague that had been purged.

But as the adrenaline began to fade, something caught his eye—movement from beneath the desk. Dave's heart sank as he realized what he was seeing. It was his mother. She was crouched under the desk, her face pale and eyes wide with shock. She must have been hiding there, maybe forced by this man… Dave's mind whirled as he pieced it together. 'No, no, no,' he thought desperately, his mind racing. 'She can't see me. She can't know it was me.'

Quickly, he took a step back, swallowing the lump in his throat as he struggled to regain control. He hadn't said a word during the entire ordeal, and neither had the boss. His mother hadn't seen his face, and she probably didn't know who had killed her tormentor. Forcing himself to stay calm, Dave turned away and walked out of the office as quietly as he had entered.

"Bella, ensure all traces of me are erased," he whispered urgently.

"Understood, Dave. All evidence of your presence has been removed. You were never here," Bella's voice replied, soothing yet efficient.

Dave glanced over his shoulder one last time before exiting the office. His mother hadn't moved, still too stunned by what had just happened. He silently prayed that she wouldn't be hurt any further by tonight's events.

With a heavy heart, Dave made his way down the empty hallways, avoiding any potential witnesses. The drive back to his villa was a blur, his mind racing with conflicting emotions. He didn't regret what he'd done—the man deserved every bit of it. But he hadn't wanted his mother to be there, to witness the violence and fear that this encounter had created.

Finally, he pulled into the driveway of his villa, the sleek building towering before him like a silent sentinel. He climbed out of the car and leaned against the door, staring up at the night sky. The satisfaction of avenging his mother's pain was tempered by the unsettling feeling in his chest. He had never wanted her to be a part of this nightmare. But now, at least, it was over.

As he stood there, Bella's voice spoke softly, breaking the silence. "Dave, it is done. There is no trace of your presence at the office. The man will be found tomorrow, and it will be ruled as an incident with no identifiable perpetrator."

Dave nodded absently. "Thank you, Bella." He paused, taking a deep breath to steady himself. "I'll never let anyone hurt her again."

He stepped into his villa, his resolve hardening with each passing moment. His mother would be free from now on, and no one would ever make her suffer again—not as long as he was alive. This was only the beginning. He had the power, and he had the means. With The Infinite Possibility System by his side, he would make sure no one in his family was ever threatened again. He would keep them safe, no matter what it took.

"Bella," he said softly, determination lacing his words, "we're just getting started."

"Of course, Dave," Bella replied, her tone unwavering and filled with confidence. "Let's show the world what we're truly capable of."

Dave nodded. This was his vow: to protect, to defend, and to destroy anyone who dared harm those he loved. The world was about to witness the rise of a new force—one that would remain hidden in the shadows but whose influence would be felt everywhere.
