At the Owl House, King was sleeping peacefully dreaming of finally finding his dad and family. Even though he knew it could never happen, he still wished that he could've met his dad and played catch with him.
As he was sleeping peacefully, Eda lightly shook him as he woke up.
"King... King, come on. It's time to wake up," Eda said as King jolted awake.
"Nyeh! What's going on? Is there trouble?" King asked
"We're about to find out," Eda said as they peeked into the living room. They saw Luz, Cruz, and Hunter sitting in the living room with a somber expression.
"The kids are ready to talk."
"Let's slash and rend and crush and bruise! Let's curse the land in nine bright hues!"
"We're gonna tell everyone about the Day of Unity, that you've been lying about the Titan for years!"
Belos held up a Golden Guard mask. "I'll do anything to save humanity from evil."
At the Owl House, Luz had drawn a hyper realistic picture of Belos with the words witch hunter underneath him.
There was another drawing that showed Hunter with the word Grimwalker underneath with a diagram showing his eye.
Eda, King and Hooty looked at the drawings in shock. As they glanced up at Luz, she had a blanket wrapped around her as she had a cup of warm tea while stuffed animals surrounded the three. Flapjack chirped with worry as he pecked at Hunter gently. Gizmo look at Cruz with worry as he nudged at him.
Eda inhaled sharply as she covered her eyes. "This is just a lot to take in," Eda said as Luz stood up.
"We don't have time to take anything in. We have to stop Belos! I-I was a part of his plan! I-I fell for everything!" Luz began to hug herself as tears started to well up.
"King, Hooty, you know what to do," Eda said as the two rushed at her and wrapped themselves around her in a hug.
"I was always there by him," Hunter said. "I just wanted his approval. But… it never mattered."
"Hey, you two. Enough with the moping around," Cruz said as he put a blanket back on Hunter. "Belos is nothing more than a rat who will manipulate anyone to get his way. It's neither of your faults."
"Cruz is right," Eda said. "And it's not your fault either, kid. But for now, we know one thing for sure. People can tell when you've been inside their head. It's only a matter of time before Belos sends his scouts over here. You all need to hide."
"We are not hiding," Luz said with determination
"She's right," Cruz said. "I already told you, we're going to stop Belos."
"We'll stop him from completing the Draining Spell. "We… just… need to figure out how."
"Edalyn!" Lilith stormed into the room with Owlbert landing on her shoulder.
"Lulu!" Hooty stretched towards her as he accidentally tightened his body around Luz, causing her to choke.
"Hooty!" Cruz yelled as he tried to pull Hooty off of Luz.
"I came as fast as I could. Owlbert filled me in on the Draining Spell," Lilith said. "Oh, Titan, I can't believe this is what the Day of Unity was about the whole time. Ugh, I was such a fool, a dolt, a chump, a-"
"Hey, no pity parties in this house. Besides, these three are upset enough as it is," Eda said as Luz turned to look at Lilith with tears starting to form in her eyes and a whimper.
"You're right," Lilith said as she adjusted her glasses. "I'll do anything to help."
Lilith then looked over and gasped when she saw Hunter. "It's you!" Lilith said with a hiss
They looked at her in confusion before Cruz remembered that Lilith always hated Hunter.
"Hey wait, Aunt Lily," Cruz said as Lilith took out her staff
"You little brat," Lilith said as she pointed her staff at Hunter as he stepped back from her. Cruz quickly stood in between the two.
"I said to wait!" Cruz said as his eyes had a slight hue. "Listen, he's on our side now. I know it sounds weird but just trust me."
"Oh alright," Lilith said as she put her staff away and Mike Socks landed on her shoulder. "I'm only doing this because you're asking me to, Cruz." Lilith quickly shot Hunter a glare. "Remember that my nephew is the only reason you're safe."
Hunter simply frowned at her as he huffed.
"Lulu!" Hooty said as he pressed his face next to Lilith. "I am so happy to see you, I could- I could..."
Suddenly, a large bundle starts moving towards Hooty's mouth from his stomach as King got pulled along.
"Weh?"
"Oh, here it comes!" Hooty threw up the pile of garbage onto the floor and onto King.
"Ugh! Gross."
"Dang it, Hooty!"
"Oh, my word!"
"Hooty, you gotta stop eating garbage from the ground."
From inside of the pile of garbage, King found a black latter with gold letter that said "To King"
King quickly popped out of the pile. "WEH! He's also been eating our mail. Look!" King said as he held up the letter for the others to see.
As King opened the letter, a small rock fell out of the envelope when he took out the note.
"Dear King Clawthorne, if you wish to know who you truly are, come to this location and meet our warrior clan," King read as he turned to Cruz
"Cruz! Do you think… there might be more of us?"
Cruz held his chin as he began to think. "To be honest, I'm not sure. I wouldn't get my hopes up. We know for a fact if there was more of our species around then people would be talking about it. Or at the very least, it would be a common fact to know."
"Maybe, but if there's even a small chance… wouldn't it be better to just make sure?" King asked feeling hopeful.
If there was even a small chance there were more Titans or even one more, then he wouldn't be alone anymore.
After a short pause, Cruz said, "Alright. We can go check it out. If they're a warrior clan, then they might have some weapons we could use."
"Cruz is right," Lilith said. "And besides… it's not like we have many allies."
"We know for a fact the Coven Heads won't be reliable to help. They're too loyal to Belos," Hunter said as he missed Cruz wincing.
"Not to mention, there might a chance that King might find out where he came from. And he might meet his family," Luz said as with determination.
King looked up at her with a sad smile since he knew that he wouldn't find any of his direct family there.
"Well, I say you all need a safe place to hide while the adults take care of things," Eda said as Luz pouted at her.
"Come on, mom. I already told you that I'm not letting Belos get away with what he's done," Cruz said as he looked at her with determination.
Eda and Luz huffed at each other before turning away.
"I'm actually in favor of this plan," Lilith said surprising everyone.
"You are?" They all asked
"It wouldn't hurt to check. Plus, judging by King's map, you four would be taken far, far away from the Boiling Isles and Emperor Belos," Lilith said as she stood up with the letter.
"What if something goes wrong?" Eda asked
"Hooty could accompany them. Their safety would be your responsibility, my dear, brave Hootsifer."
Hooty's eyes filled with tears as he slithered out and bowed to Lilith. "I would protect these silly children with my life."
"Do you want to come to, Hunter? Or would you rather stay here at the Owl House?" Cruz asked as he saw Hunter fidgeting
"If it's alright with you, I'd rather stay here. I want to make sure that the others are safe," Hunter said
"That's alright. Send a message to the Entrails group chat to let them know what's going on. I'm sure they'll be worried about you," Cruz said
"Oh, uh, yeah. I'll be sure to let the Captain know," Hunter said with a slight blush on his cheeks.
Luz and Cruz noticed the blush on Hunter before smirking.
"How are you all getting to that place?" Eda asked
"We know a ship that might take us," Luz said
"Yeah! The ole Selkidomus crew. Think about it! Belos won't be able to withstand a whole army of mes," King said
"That's if we find an army there," Cruz pointed out
"Such allies would be quite valuable," Lilith said as Eda looked worried for them.
"I wonder if I still have my sailor's hat."
"Does anyone feel that marching around the edge of the forest?
"I was meaning to make some modifications to that ship last time."
"Fine. You can go. We'll find out all we can on our end to create a plan for uh... uh, when you get back," Eda said as she finally caved in.
"Thank you, Mom! We won't let you down." Luz hugged her as Cruz and King joined in. "Let's go pack for the trip," Luz said as she and King ran off.
"Wait for me!" Hooty said as he followed after them in his little porta Hooty form.
"You can stay in the tower and contact the others. I already gave Jean-Luc the order to make sure that you're safe," Cruz said as he and Hunter headed towards the tower.
"You know you made the right choice, don't you?" Lilith asked reassuring Eda. "Plus, I've explored that area, there is nothing of note. Whoever wrote that letter was sending them on a wild Luz chase."
As Lilith began to laugh at her pun, Eda covered her face and began to cry.
"Oh, no, no, no. No, no, don't cry! Oh, the joke wasn't that bad, was it?" Lilith asked in concern.
"Oh, this is so much bigger than I imagined, Lily. I thought Luz and Cruz were just some lost kids, but because of me they're wrapped up in this thing with Belos and it… it's just not fair. Not to mention blondie was wrapped up with Belos for the longest time. The three of them and King are children. They shouldn't have to deal with this."
"Heck! Cruz almost died… twice! They asked me to be their mother but I can't even protect them."
"We have a whole week until the Day of Unity. We'll figure out how to keep them safe," Lilith said as she pulled Eda into a hug.
Eda smiled at her as she wiped away a tear. "Alright, let's get to work."
The ship sailed through the night as Salty shoveled coal into the furnace. As he closed the hatch, he wiped the sweat from his brow.
"Doin' a lot of work there, Salty. Where's the crew?" King asked as he sat on the stairs
"Well, I'm no longer working for the Golden Guard," Salty said. "So, me mates abandoned ship for greener, snailier pastures. They were like family to me too." Salty looked down sadly.
King looked down at the picture in his hand sadly. It was a picture of the mural from the island where they found Jean-Luc.
"Alright, Salty," Cruz said as he walked up to the captain. "I finished making adjustments to your ship. I fixed the propellers and finished making the engine run smoother. That coal should last you a lot longer now."
"Appreciate it, kid. That should alleviate some of me work from now on."
"Land ho!" Luz called out as she used Hooty as a binocular. "Land ho!"
King and Cruz climbed up to Luz as they looked out to the sea. They saw an island with a large object sticking up towards the sky.
"Is that… a finger?" Hooty asked. "It's a long way from our Titan."
"That's 'cause it's not from our Titan. This be part of a different beastie", salty said
As the four rowed towards the island using the bathtub, Salty waved them off. "Come back with a good story, sea squirts! If ye come back at all!"
"Aw, he's so supportive," Luz said as she and Cruz rowed.
As they landed on the island, they made their way up a flight of stairs. When they reached the top, they found a wall with a drawing at the center.
"Is anyone here?" Luz asked
"Maybe we're a bunch of early birds," Hooty said as King walked up to the wall.
"Or maybe they got sick of waiting! That letter was over a month old..." King lamented
"Hang on," Luz said as she walked up to the wall. "There's something here."
Luz took out the rock that came with King's letter and put it into the hole.
Suddenly, the whole finger began to glow as lines of magic flowed through it sending out a shockwave. From above the finger, a large portal opened up as a blue light beam shone down on them and began to drag them up.
They all yelped as they started to float up faster.
"Here we go!"
Lightning struck down on a platform as they floated into the air. Cruz quickly drew a white spell circle as a gust of wind broke their fall.
"Thanks, Cruz," King said as Cruz was holding him close.
"No problem," Cruz said as he set him down.
"Luz, Cruz, are you okay?" Hooty asked. "Where's your other arms?!"
"We only ever had two, Hooty. Did you think we had more?" Luz asked
"Why would you even think that?" Cruz wondered
"Guys, look," King said. As they look out, they see a large skeleton from some large beast.
"That doesn't look like the Boiling Isles to me," Hooty said
"That's because it isn't," a deep voice said from behind them. When they turned towards the voice, they saw a demon that looked very similar to King.
"Welcome to the other side of the world," the demon said.
As the demon approached them, Luz leaned into to Cruz. "You have some idea what's going on?"
"I think that rock that was in the letter was a kind of key that let the magic transport up to this place. Looks like a large version of the teleportation glyph that Belos used," Cruz explained as Gizmo turned into his staff.
"You dare trespass on this sacred-" the demon gasped when he noticed King.
"By the Huntsman, 'tis King! My name is Tarak. Hail and well-met," Tarak said
"Uh, y-yeah! 'Tis King!"
"Psst! King! Introduce us!" Luz said as she bent down to him.
"Right! Uh, this is Luz and her brother Cruz. The human/hybrid/siblings. And this is Hooty, the… uh… door…?"
"Your warrior-ship," Luz said as she and Hooty bowed to him
"Did you send me that letter?" King asked feeling hopeful. "Are… are you…"
"Your father? Alas, no. Nor is he here," Tarak said
"We knew that already," Cruz whispered as King looked down dejectedly.
"But I did send the letter," Tarak said as he squatted down. "And by the sight of you, I know he was one of us. He passed down that handsome skull of yours, didn't he?"
King giggled as Tarak tapped on his skull before standing up. "Now we celebrate! Everyone will be so happy to meet you."
"Who's everyone?" Luz wondered as Tarak led them away showing them a large settlement.
"Welcome… to Titan Trapper Island!" Tarak said as King gasped before his and Cruz's eyes widened in shock.
"Did you say… Titan Trapper?" King asked wearily
"Indeed. Come, I'll explain more as we walk," Tarak said as Luz and Hooty followed after him.
"Cruz, what should we do?" King asked as he jumped onto Cruz's shoulder.
"We have to be really careful, King. If they find out what we are, then they might try and keep us prisoners."
"So I guess you were right," King said sadly as he hopped off of Cruz's shoulder. "We really are all that's left of our species."
Cruz bent down to King. "Listen, even if that's true, it doesn't matter. Nothing will change the fact that you're my brother. I will always make sure that you have me backing you up. If things start to go south, I'll protect you and everyone else."
"Thanks, Cruz. We should catch up with the others," King said as he and Cruz ran up to catch up with Luz and Hooty.
"I've never seen so many demons that look so similar," King said as he watched all the demons train. "Look at them go!"
"We are Titan Trappers, under oath to protect the world from giant monsters of death and destruction. But uh, not many of us have seen a live one, of course," Tarak said as he laughed and cleared his throat. "Come!"
Tarak pushed open a double door leading them into a large building.
"Aren't Titans extinct?" Luz asked before she gasped. In front of them was a giant skeleton of a horned creature.
"Not all of them. The Grand Huntsman says one remains, so we sharpen our spears until the vile creature rears its head and a new hunt can begin!"
As multiple demons surround the four, Cruz tensed up.
"And now, dear King... you can join us and become a Titan Trapper yourself!" Tarak said as Luz and Hooty gasped.
"Weh?!" King was startled as the crowd cheered.
"Oh, my gosh," Luz said as she knelt down to him. "King that's amazing! Well, we don't know any Titans, but the world could definitely use your help." Luz stood up as she looked around at the crowd.
"That's right!" King said as he looked around. "It's a lot to explain right now, but could you help the people of the Boiling Isles?"
"Any enemy of yours is an enemy of ours!" One of the demons said as the crowd cheered before they led King away.
"King!" Cruz yelled out as Tarak put his hand on Cruz's shoulder.
"Don't worry. They're just going to give him some equipment. As for your request, we can make no vows. For that you must beseech our elder, the wisest hunter of them all... Bill!"
Luz and Cruz waited for Tarak to say a name that was a lot more… grand.
"Is that... short for something?" Luz asked
"Please tell me it's short for something," Cruz said
"Nope," Tarak said with a shrug. "Just Bill. He's so cool, he actually met our god, the Grant Huntsman! He's my best friend. Eh, it's no big deal."
"Luz! Cruz!" King yelled as he ran up to them. "Look what they gave me!"
He held up a scythe with a jaw instead of a blade.
"Oh! Oookay. That looks awfully pointy, buddy," Luz said as she backed away.
"Don't worry, it's mostly paper mache," King said as the scythe crashed down. "And bone. They're gonna show me their Titan Trapper ways, you two."
Cruz slightly frowned not knowing how to feel about King being so close to a group of warriors that trained to hunt his species down.
"How about Hooty, Cruz and I go see the elder, and in the meantime, you learn all you can about being a Titan Trapper?" Luz said
"Oh, uh," King hesitated as he looked at Cruz. Luz looked over at her brother in confusion as he nodded at King.
"Just try and be careful." Cruz then handed King a small glove. "Just in case, that glove has a lightning glyph to stun people," Cruz said in a whisper
King nodded as he ran off.
"Just be careful!" Luz called out
"I will!"
"Are we really leaving him alone?" Hooty asked skeptically
"He should have time to get to know his family," Luz said as she saw the demons all surround King and clapping happily around him. "Besides, we have a job to do."
"They're not really his family, but he'll be fine," Cruz said as they followed after Tarak. Luz looked at Cruz wondering what he meant and why he was so on edge.
"I shall take my leave," Tarak said as he left the trio in front of a door. "Tell Bill I said hi."
As Tarak left, Luz pushed open the door as she, Hooty and Cruz walked into the room.
"Hello?" Luz called out. As they walked through the room, they saw all sorts of weapons on the wall.
"Whoa. Look at all this stuff, you guys," Luz said as she took out a sword from a wooden barrel. "This will help us defeat Belos for sure." As she holds up the blade, it turned to dust.
As Luz turned she noticed a large red spear on the wall before picking it up.
"Yeah!" Luz picked up the spear with a laugh as she activated it.
As the tip of the spear begins to spin, it suddenly turned limp as Hooty and Cruz gave her an unamused look.
"Tarak? Is that you?" Someone called out.
Sitting on a large chair was a small demon that was reading a book by Flora D'splora.
"I told you to stop rummaging through my stuff!" Bill lowered the book. He was a small demon that looked almost identical to King. The main difference being that he was much older and had a candle on his head with a blue flame.
"Tarak's not here. It's just us." Luz cleared her throat as she and Hooty bowed. "Uh, greetings. My name is-"
"What's that?" Bill questioned as he pulled out a horn and put it up to his ear. "Speak up! You barge in like an angry Titan only to whisper like the wind?"
Luz and Cruz walked up closer to him. "Greetings!" Luz yelled as she kneeled down. "Uh, this... lowly traveler begs an audience with the great Bill."
Luz crawled up closer to the horn as she began to yell into it. "Mayhaps we might perchance to venture to uh-"
"Oh for the love of-" Bill pushed his horn to the side. "Tarak sent you here, didn't he?"
"He said you were the wisest of all the Trappers. And also his friend. He says hi."
"Of course he does. What do you want?" Bill questioned
"Oh, so they're not friends. Got it," Cruz deadpanned
"I'm here to ask if you would lend me your mighty warriors. You see, Emperor Belos has threatened to-"
"Ha! That upstart on the carcass kingdom? He's no big deal. I've got battle scars older than his reign as Emperor! Wanna see?" Bill asked as he lifted up his shirt to show a scar.
"Ew," Cruz said with disgust.
"We're good. But... please understand, Mr... Bill, a lot of people are in danger and- and they don't even realize it."
"Yeah, that dude is straight up evil," Hooty said
"Not to mention, we won't have enough time to gather an army of our own," Cruz said
"Don't worry, we'll help," Bill said as Luz and Hooty's faces lit up.
"But if you think Belos is evil, you've never seen a live Titan. The children out there haven't either."
They all looked out the window as they saw King standing in front of a waterfall with the other demons all looking at him and cheering.
"Don't know a thing about their ravenous appetites, or their terrible cries!" Bill said as Cruz began to tense up. Gizmo nudged his partner with worry as Cruz scratched behind his ear.
"Even their babies act like little monarchs. The last living Titan, I saw it once before it disappeared. Its hateful roar blew out my eardrums. How did it go? Weh!"
Luz's eyes widened in realization as she turned to look at Cruz.
"So… Titans are always hungry… act like monarchs, and say… Weh?"
"The Huntsman wants us to find the last one," Bill said as he gestured towards a poster that said "The Lost Son of the Boiling Isles."
"Only a Titan's power can free him from his prison. But we've had no luck. Nice poster, right? I- I took a printmaking class once. Eh, not sure about the font though, I- I feel like the serifs are a little too..."
As Bill turned away from Luz to continue to talk, Hooty popped up next to her.
"Luz! Cruz! Follow me!" Hooty said as he dragged the twins away to another room.
Hooty lifted the curtain to a room filled with murals dedicated to hunting Titans. Multiple skulls that looked like King laid on the ground.
"This room… it's disgusting," Cruz said as his eyes began to glow with a low hue.
"Oh, hey! Thought I'd get Lulu some souvenirs," Hooty said as he grabbed a snow globe with his beak before shaking it.
Inside of the globe was a small version of the Collector floating with stars.
"You've got to be kidding me," Cruz said
"Their god is that Collector kid?" Luz said as she realized how dangerous this place was for them.
"Ah! You've found the shrine to the Huntsman," Bill said as he lifted the curtain to the room. "It's been my little DIY project for years."
Luz and Cruz lifted their eyebrows wondering how long this demon had been alive for.
"You like our disguises?" Bill took off his glove to show his hand to the three. "You gotta look like a Titan to trap one." Bill put the glove back on before putting his hand on his skull.
"But if I ever find that missing Titan… I'd hunt it down, tear it limb from limb, and mount its head in pride as we release the Huntsman! Then... we can finally go from being Titan Trappers to Titan Slayers!" Bill declared dramatically. "Say, who's your buddy's tailor? His costume looks so real! Yours isn't too bad either. Guess you ran out of material."
Luz and Hooty looked absolutely shocked as Hooty dropped the snow globe onto the ground shattering it.
Luz and Cruz quickly began to retreat out of the room trying to act inconspicuous. "Uh... This has all been super cool, but I gotta go check on, um, things," Luz said as he carried Hooty out of the room.
"But what about the uh... What were you talking about? Th- Th- The- Your quest. With Belos," Bill questioned as they tried to quickly shuffle out of the room.
"Oh, ha! I- I'm sure it'll work itself out. Really," Luz said
"Seriously no need to worry about us at all," Cruz said as followed after Luz
"Oookay, bye!" Luz closed the door with Hooty's face still being inside of it. She opened the door briefly as she let Hooty through before closing it again.
"We gotta get King out of here now! And you!" Luz said as she ran in the hall with Cruz and Hooty. "You need to tell me what you know!"
"No time right now!" Cruz said as Gizmo turned into a staff. "Get on! Let's hurry!"
Back in his room, Bill looked at the door in confusion before he heard a very familiar sound.
"Weh!" As he turned to look out the window, he saw King being tossed into the air as he continued to yell out with a "Weh!" Bill's eyes widened in realization.
As Luz and Cruz look around for King, they notice that King and the rest of the demons were missing.
"Where did they go?!" Cruz asked in a panic. "I shouldn't have left him alone even for a second!"
"We'll see him better in the air," Luz pointed out as they rose into the air on the staff. "You've been acting tense this whole time. Did you know what King was?"
Cruz bit his lip as he looked around for King and the others.
"Cruz!"
"Yes! I knew already!" Cruz yelled shocking Luz. Cruz took a deep breath as he calmed down. "Listen, I figured it out a while back. Back when Amity and Skara got the Titan blood for Eclipse Lake, I came up with the theory that we might be Titans. And after we went back in time, I confirmed it with the data that Aunt Lily got."
"Why didn't you say anything?"
"Because… King wanted to keep it a secret for a bit longer. He didn't want to tell anyone so that he wouldn't be treated any differently. It was his choice, and now he's in danger because I wasn't there to protect him like a brother should."
"Cruz…"
"Down there!" Hooty yelled.
They looked down and saw that he was surrounded by the demons as they stood in front of a monument with blue flames surrounding him on torches.
"Go invisible and grab him. I'll blind them using the light glyph," Cruz said as he, Luz and Hooty held their breaths.
As they got close to the group, Hooty wrapped around Bill as he stood behind King with a knife.
"Uh, did you pull something, Bill?" Tarak asked
"I can't move! Wh- wh- whoa! Wh- wh- who-" Bill screamed as he was lifted into the air and thrown to the side.
"Weh? Wha- what's happening?" King asked as a light glyph appeared above his head. As the light exploded, everyone was blinded. When they looked again, King was gone.
"Is this the power of a Titan?" Tarak questioned
"No, you bonehead," Bill said as they all turned to look at him. "It's those kids and their ungodly sock monster!"
Luz, Cruz and Hooty took a deep breath as the invisibility glyph wore off.
"King, I'm so glad you're okay!" Luz said as she lifted the cloth from his face and hugged him.
"Luz? Cruz? What's going on? We were going to play catch," King said as he pulled himself out of the hug.
"King, they weren't going to play with you," Cruz said. "They were planning to sacrifice you!"
"What?! No they weren't," King argued
"Hey! They just saved you from that knife!" Hooty said
"Where'd your stun glove go?"
"I kinda… broke it," King admitted sheepishly.
"We've gotta work on your ability to take care of things," Cruz deadpanned
"King… I know what you are," Luz said as King took a slight step back. "I get why you'd want to keep it a secret but you should've said something when we got here. If I knew what you were then I never would've sent you with them."
"I know, but… I just wanted to see if I could've found someone. Anyone to have around me… at least for a little while longer."
"What are you talking about?" Luz asked. "We're not going anywhere."
"But you will eventually. I've read your Azura books. You even promised your mom," King said as Luz and Cruz's eyes widened. "And Cruz did too. I know you won't stick around forever."
As Cruz was about to reach out for King, they heard Tarak yell at them.
"Hark!" They turned around and saw the Titan Trappers standing there armed with their weapons.
"Tis the wretched spawn of-"
"Shut up and get that Titan!" Bill yelled as he popped up from behind Tarak.
Tarak formed a spell circle as he shot multiple bolts of magic.
"Come on, King!" Luz said as she picked up King and began to run off. As they ran, Cruz pulled out a tear drop necklace as he created a small bubble spell to block any shots from hitting them from behind.
One of the demons created a spell circle as they started to pull King off of Luz's shoulder.
"King! King!" Luz chased after him but he was getting too high. Luz threw a light glyph at the demon causing him to drop King.
As King was falling, he used the cape they gave him to act like a parachute.
As Luz tried to catch him, the Titan Trappers fired more bolts and bolases at her, Cruz and Hooty.
Hooty blocked multiple blasts as he stretched upwards. He managed to avoid multiple shots as he taunted the Trappers before he was tied up by a bolas. Hooty was then hit with multiple blasts before falling to the ground.
"Hooty!" Luz yelled as she ran up to him.
"Tell Lulu... how brave I was!" Hooty said as Tarak walked up to the two. Luz and Hooty looked at him in fear as he held a blue flame in his hand.
King landed behind the two and his eyes widened in fear as he saw Tarak about to attack them.
Suddenly, Tarak was blasted back with a burst of wind knocking him into the crowd. Luz, Hooty and King looked back and saw Cruz with his hand stretched out as he had a white spell circle in front of it.
Cruz stood in front of the three defensively as dropped an empty potion bottle onto the ground.
As Tarak got back up, his skull mask had fallen off showing his real face. He was an older witch with half of his face painted blue with a moon and star above his brow and a large mustache.
"My brothers and sisters, a new hunt begins today!" Tarak announced as the other Trappers took off their skull masks, showing that they were all witches with similar make-up in different designs.
Bill pushed Tarak aside as he stood in between Cruz and the Trappers.
"With this gift, the Grand Huntsman will return, and I shall ride cloaked in glory above all others!" Bill declared as he began to laugh evilly.
The other Trappers all looked at each other in confusion and uncertainty when they heard what Bill said.
"You mean, we, right?" Tarak asked as he stepped forward with a spear and an angry expression. "You promised the Huntsman will grant all of us glory."
"Uh…" Bill looked around as he tried to come up with something to say.
"Are… Titans even evil?" Hooty asked
"How much have you been making up?" Luz questioned
"Uh... uh, don't let the girl fool you! I-I'm totally not lying," Bill said as he took off his mask to reveal an old wrinkly witch. "Hand me my spear."
All of the Trappers gave Bill a look of distrust as he grew frustrated. "Whatever. Just gimme that thing!" Bill jumped up and grabbed the spear from Tarak.
Suddenly, all of the Trappers fell to their knees as they began to grow heavy.
Luz looked up and saw gold ring above them. She looked toward Cruz and saw his eyes glowing as a white circle was forming around his wrist. It was flickering but she saw that multiple glyphs were floating around his wrist.
"You all wanted a Titan. So you went after my little brother. How will you deal with a grown Titan," Cruz said as Gizmo turned into a staff. His words seemed to echo as he took a step forward.
"If you ever go after my family again, then I will make sure that the last emotion you feel will be fear!" Cruz spun his staff as it formed a giant white spell circle.
Cruz slammed the staff onto the ground before pointing it towards the Trappers. A large tornado formed in front of them picking them up and throwing them backwards.
"We gotta move!" Cruz said as Luz, Hooty and King stood up.
As they made it back to the platform, Luz took out the rock from the letter.
"Time to go home!" Luz slammed the rock onto the platform as it lifted them back into the air as the Titan Trappers watched.
As they came out of the portal, Cruz grabbed Luz and King as he flew them back towards the ground.
"We can't let them get through. We have to destroy this thing!" Luz said as they looked up and saw the Trappers running towards the platform before stopping on it.
"Then step back," King said as he squinted.
"King," Cruz said as he stood next to King. "We do this together."
King nodded as he and Cruz took multiple deep breaths.
"From deep from our stomachs," Cruz said as he and King took one large breath before unleashing a large sonic roar together. As the roar hit the finger, it began to crack as it broke down and pieces of it began to fall onto the sand.
Cruz grabbed King and shielded him before Hooty wrapped his body around the three, shielding them from the sand and debris right before the portal exploded.
Hooty poked his head out from the pile of dust now that it had settled. Luz, Cruz and Hooty look up towards where the finger was and see the wreckage.
Cruz suddenly felt King cling to his leg. When he looked down he saw King with tears in his eyes.
"I wanna go home," King said tearfully. Luz, Cruz and Hooty all look at him with a sad expression before heading back to the ship.
Back on the ship, King was sitting on the crow's nest as he looked at the symbol on his collar. He looked up and saw the Boiling Isles.
"We're all that's left, Dad. Thank you for saving Cruz," King said as he heard Luz calling out to him.
"King!" When he looked down, he saw Luz holding up a plate with bacon and a pair of eggs as Hooty and Cruz ate their own plate of bacon and eggs while Salty cooked more food. King looked back towards the Boiling Isles before joining them.
As Cruz was eating his breakfast, Luz walked up to him. "Hey, Cruz. I had a question," Luz said
"What's up?" Cruz asked as he finished his bacon.
"Back in Belos' mind… how did you know that Hunter was a clone of his brother?"
Cruz looked down at his place before putting it down. "Well… it was kind of obvious after I thought about it that Hunter was a clone. I found a book about Grimwalkers in the library when I was doing research. As for how I knew Belos had a brother," Cruz paused for a moment before talking again.
"Back in Gravesfield, there's an old legend from around the time the town was founded. It was called, The Tale of the Brothers Wittebane. It talked about how one brother met a witch and disappeared while the other brother chased after him. Neither were ever seen again," Cruz said as Luz put her plate down.
"The brothers were named Philip and Caleb."
Luz gasped. "So, then that's how you knew about Caleb?"
Cruz nodded. "I wish I had put it together earlier. Maybe that way none of this would've happened."
"You can't blame yourself, Cruz," Luz said as she put her hand on his shoulder. "It's not your fault that Belos used your staff back then."
Cruz looked at Luz with a smile. "If it's not my fault, then it can't be yours either. He tricked you, he tricked up both. That's what he does. Don't forget, you've done more good for this world than bad. The bad things don't ruin the good things, Hermana."
Luz looked at Cruz for a moment before smiling at him. "Thanks, Hermano. When we get back, we'll need to deal with Belos one way or another. Maybe Eda came up with a plan."
"Not too sure," Cruz said as he picked up his plate and scarfed down his eggs. "Raine and the others might have a plan ready."
"Wait, you mean Eda's ex? That Raine?" Luz wondered
"Yeah. The one and the same. I ran into them a bit before that whole mess with Belos' mind happened."
"You've gotta tell me everything!"
"Alright, alright. I'll tell you so that you don't end up running off trying to make some crazy plan," Cruz said before he began to tell Luz all about the rebellion and breaking into the Conformatorium all the while, not knowing that his heart had started to pump in more and more Titan's blood replacing his own slowly eating away at his humanity.
